  1. Yeah, until the playoffs. That is what happens when you don’t play anybody during the regular season. Looks good on paper! So, you become the regular season paper champions!
  2. Wait a minute! Hold your horses! Stop the press! You mean to tell me that Lewis County went undefeated the entire season, won the region championship and got put out in the early rounds of the playoff? Who would have ever thunk it? I mean, has this ever happened before? Does this happen often? I just can’t believe this! Just simply unfathomable!
  3. You don’t really need a great or even a good coach. Just find a coach with a couple of close buddies in the T$$AA to help form and put your team in a weak conference. Then, look around and find the weakest teams around to schedule. Drop down and select terrible 1A schools if you can! Then bingo; there you have an automatic 8-2 or 8-3 record every year!
  4. It is so evident! Look at the traditional record of playoff runs Lewis County has had. First, Lewis County is always in the weakest region possible with the weakest teams. That is why the regular season records usually look so good. They play nobody but if/when they do, they get beat. Without looking, I think it was Forrest last year. They were just a decent, maybe tad bit above average team and they beat Lewis County. Because Lewis County plays terrible competition, by the time the playoffs roll around (especially the second round) they always get put out. Why else would you have a 10-0 or 9-1 record almost year after year but only one or even zero playoff wins? The second thing is, good teams can mix the play calling for run and then pass when needed. Lewis County has an older and maybe almost antiquated offense. But, hey, it works against who they play and kids there grow up in it. However, you have to be able to pass by the time you get into the second or third round of the playoffs. That is unless there is a wet/sloppy field (Which LC almost always has) or heavy wind. Then, that is where that ground it out offense can compensate. Was it a cold windy night when Westview rolled in with their one horse stud and Lewis County upset them? By luck too if I remember hearing about it. If I remember correctly, the offense is based off of misdirection. Bad teams with less talent or coaching don't have players with enough discipline to play technique and assignment football but instead watch the ball. Teams that advance to the second round and further typically have players playing with discipline. They can also throw the ball as well. To further elevate my point, Lewis County will schedule teams such as Waynesboro or Collinwood instead of potential competition. There was a poster on here two years ago stating how Waynesboro was begging LC to schedule them but they would not because at that time, Waynesboro was formidable. I am sure you guys have pride in your program. But, how does it feel to be Regular Season Paper Champions year after year and get put out in the early rounds of the playoffs each year? What is the over-all value of the program? We do have a larger enrollment than LC does and hence, we play other teams with similar enrollment. Our out of conference schedule is quite formidable, however. Now, we don't look around to see who has the weakest record in 5A or 4A and try to schedule them year after year. We don't have have a couple of buddies in the T$$AA to help our region placement each year either. Good luck this week. Hope the hardwood is warmed up!
  5. If, and I use the word “if”, you are serious about your question(s) I will answer. Sharp, the head coach, has two very close buddies in the TSSAA and the do everything they can to make sure LC is in a weak region. There have been times when they just could not do this. Another poster actually threw shade to this by stating around ‘13, LC was in their region but before the season began, the HC’s buddies moved them out and into a very weak conference. The LC offense is antiquated but it still works because teams don’t ever see it and it takes disclipine to defend it. They are always put out in playoffs because of two reasons. Competition is tougher and they can’t pass!
  6. That team was lucky until they ran into that CPA buzzsaw. Slid past a weak first round team then got lucky against that one horse Westview team. I can’t remember the story exactly but it was something about a heave that fluttered like a duck. When I watched that Cornersville championship game last year or year before, they beat that team up and down and all over the field until the end. I imagine that is what that Westview game was like. In the end, during the second round and further, a win is a win! I imagine CPA had difficulty scheming against that LC offense because it’s so different. Then again, CPA is CPA and always good.
  7. Ain’t that something? Wonder why that is year after year? Wasn’t it a one loss team last year?
  8. Does it sound like I said that coach was responsible for Covid? If so, show me where and I will be glad to augment my wording. Now, if you say he went to China I will just have to take your word for it. I do not personally know the guy but you on the other hand, display that you do. Good for you! If you have all of those ailments you either played a very, very long time or you must have been used as one of those tackling dummy's. Either way, my guess is you weren’t very good. Curiously though, were you playing when LC was in A ball, playing the likes of Collinwood, Waynesboro, Richland, Mt. Pleasant and all of those other power houses?
  9. Just, you just ALWAYS have to put LEWIS county in this grouping because there is ALWAYS some lower tiered team from another region that puts them out by the second round EVERY year!
  10. You forgot to mention how everybody did “back in the day”. You also forgot to mention how we were everybody's home coming “back in the day”. So, what you are really stating is that “back in the day” you were nothing special then.?.?.? How many times did you reach the second or even the third round “back in the day”? Same song and dance. “From back in the day” to now!
  11. Nah, not really. Though I don’t think LC is doing this but it is equitable to having a bunch of 15 year olds playing in the 8th grade and winning a lot of games. Yet, when those same 15 year olds become seniors, the high school teams aren't good. That is how LC is when the playoffs roll around.
  12. Back in the day but really wasn’t a rivalry. @ddaddy called me out on it last year stating the enrollment numbers being different now. But we do play competition and all of the schools around us are very competitive. So, there is no way we could be placed in a soft region like they always are!
  13. Nothing specific for me. Just tired of the fakeness and unwarranted hype.
  14. What has happened to our little brother to the south? For two good years there Cornersville was dominant. But now not so much.
  15. Respect? Nah, they are a fake program. In reality, they accomplish nothing. Not only are their region opponents always weak but so is their out of region opponents. There was a fan from last year or the year before from Waynesboro calling them out on it. They will schedule Waynesboro during lean times but if LC even wiffs a decent team coming from there they wont. LC is all hype and receive too much credit!
  16. This is unquestionably set up for the best possible run In the history of Hohenwald football! Sharps two buddies up there in the T$$AA have really helped him out this year!! If, and that is a huge if, they can some how break tradition and slide through the early rounds and get Waverly at home where the refs can help, they just may go far! But then, Peabody gonna put ‘em back down in their usual place!
  17. Shows how weak that region is! LC is always and I mean always placed in the weakest region possible! That is why they are regular season paper champs and nothing more. Back about a decade or so ago, they were placed in a region with us, Pulaski and others and could do nothing.
  18. Ya’ll don’t forget about the traditional early round exits from the provisional paper champions every year!
  19. Early second round exit.. as usual! Enjoy another season of being Regular Season Paper Champions!
  20. At least we are not a fake program! Wish we were going to be placed into a new region with teams equivalent to a new program such as Summertown or dominant power houses such as Richland.
  21. My dog is not even barking in this fight but, I do have a question. So, the championship comes down to Lewis County beating what is essentially a 1A team with three losses? Really? Seriously? Is that correct? Is there pride to be found in that? I mean, that’s usually how it is for Lewis County year in and year out but who has pride in that? I’m predicting a second round exit this year. Better than a first round but LC gonna LC like they’ve done for decades.
  22. LC is getting ready to claim their umpteenth regular season paper championship with an over-all record of 10-1 or 10-2 or if lucky 11-1.
