  1. The paper champions from Hohenwald and the paper tigers from Milan. No wonder BPM was/is so defensive of Hohenwald! Lol
  2. One needs to look at tradition when deciphering this. With both Riverside and, to an extent, Chapel Hill not in Hohenwald’s region, that region was set up perfectly for the paper champions. However, who would have thought Loretto would run roughshod over that region? Also, we all know Hohenwald typically only plays one decent to good team a/each year and, is at best, 50/50 against them. Traditionally, if they face two good to decent teams in a given year (last year was an anomaly) they are never better than 50/50. They lost to undefeated Loretto and then slammed MTP. Therefore, if they are back to Hohenwald of old, Waverly should win this one. If they are back to the traditional Hohenwald, they’ll be bounced by the second round. So, until next Friday nights games are completed, we won’t know for sure. But, speculation is exciting.
  3. Is Hohenwald running the spread option or have they gone back to the wing T?
  4. First of all, *you’re, not your. Second, just stick to (your) paper tigers and worry about choosing the easiest classification for the next reclassification.
  5. I’m just curious, with all of the changes over the past couple of years at Hohenwald, does anyone think they will make it past the second round?
  6. Maybe. But, undefeated and not only did they beat down the perennial paper champions from Hohenwald but they evidently put it to Waverly last night. And, it’s not like Waverly has not had some success over the years. Yeah, well, football now, too. Might want to add in football, now. Well, you just might be wrong there, homie. Seems like I do elicit responses, just as yours.
  7. I told everyone weeks ago that Loretto is back! They’re beating everyone! Evidently, thst beat down of perennial Hohenwald was just the beginning! Now, I don’t know Loretto’s history (long term anyway) but I’m betting this year is even better than those Butch Toner years.
  8. This was an incredibly defensive game! I knew the LB’s were going to hold their own and, they did! Laid some good licks! I rank Centennial up there! Have a feeling a rematch may have a much different outcome!
  9. 14-0 the home team. Perfect night for football! Having some good luck but all good teams do!
  10. I’m not sure how much of a home field advantage this is going to be. It’s supposed to be close to 60 degrees but not wet. I think our running game is going to be strong. If Centennial loads the box inside, I look for quick hits over the middle or speed around the ends. We do have versatility at RB and a pretty good TE.
  11. Bump: If Waverly wins this Friday night and Lewis and MTP both win out, it is going to be interesting breaking this tie. I would venture to say that due to Loretto beating Hohenwald earlier in the season, Hohenwald’s ranking would be higher. Now, I haven’t looked at each teams opponents records to see which would get the nod (according to @Southtowner’s stated rules earlier). With two weeks still remaining, who has who in the 1-4 playoff slots? Then, looking at the other region, are there teams from the West that R5 would rather face (higher playoff placements vs lower playoff placements)?
  12. That week is here, now! Great football for Middle Tennessee!
  13. Big region game leading to what could be the defacto region title if the Patriots win and then beat Nolensville next week. If Centennial wins, they will most likely be regional champions. Our defense is stout and, for the most part, the reason for most of the wins, especially of late. Our LB core is some of the best in the state. The DL is good and our secondary is shut down. On offense, we move the ball very well and like the ground but, will put it in the air. We have two Jr’s that are plug and play and can bounce outside and take it the length of the field. Our Sr is the workhorse and does not mind putting his head down and sticking it up the middle! Don’t know a lot about Centennial but do know since they have moved back to 5A, they have been doing extremely well. Big time game Friday!!!
  14. Both seem to be having a good to great year! Waverly has precedent of success in playoffs and big games. Loretto is undefeated on the year and, has already beaten powerhouse Hohenwald. The next two weeks of games in that region should be good!
  15. Oh, I’m a patriot through and through. Looking forward to another run at the ‘ship. Hopefully, this will be three runs in a row and, in 5A at that!
  16. In their defense, I don’t think they have had a football program very long, at all. Additionally, small town and, not really able to schedule (smaller) and (weaker) schools for OOC games.
  17. You just don’t learn do you? You should probably just give it up. You will never be able to confer what I say into what you want it to be. The above quoted post just ruined any credibility you needed related to that. Also, Just should just stick with your paper tigers over there in West Tennessee and try to figure out the easiest classification to jump to for the next realignment.
  18. Yep, need that extra week of practice to prepare for a football game against a girls basketball school’s football team. Was it year before last when Summertown upset Hohenwald?
  19. So, let me get this straight: I am so in your head that you have become single sourced in your obsession of me that you cannot see simple sarcasm with the "1000%" post? All that you have done is open up the knowledge that Milan is a classification dodger. So, I'm going to give you the moniker of Dodger. No wonder you are so defensive of Hohenwald. Where they dodge competition during the season, you guys completely change divisions! LOL This is crazy, but humorous. I'm wondering if this means Milan is "paper champions" too?
  20. How can you be so proud of a school that dodges competition by jumping classifications?
  21. My bad. I just don't know enough about West Tennessee football to understand who's who and who's dominant. Case in point; I just now (as of yesterday) realized what others have hinted to in that Milan transverses classification to dodge competition. After looking up their schedule history yesterday, I saw a lot of season ending games against Covington. Now I understand BPM's obsession with Hohenwald. Similar in that they seek out less competition when it's appropriate in differing classification. However, after looking at some of those schedules, I don't think West Tennessee gets enough credit for how competitive it is, across the board, in football! My guess is that is due to lack of information trickling here to Middle Tennessee.
  22. May have been placed in the wrong thread but good summation none the less. Though I do not know much about the teams of R5 and R6, for the most part. However, looking over the years on CoachT's schedule records, it would seem that Huntingdon is dominant year in and year out. So, that leaves many questions; is Riverside as good as last year? Is Loretto a one hit wonder this year or was that win over Hohenwald just a fluke and they will come down to earth? They still have Waverly and MTP to finish the season. Was MTP just off when they were drummed by Hohenwald and, what about Waverly? They seem to have up and down years. Is this an up year for them? They were drummed by MTP and the only (quality) win they have is against Fairview and that doesn't say much. I say it comes down to another semifinal game between Riverside and Huntingdon.
  23. 1000%! BPM, you probably need to change your signature from bring the wood to Running for the Woods.
