  1. South Greene wins 64-43. Great win tonight gets them into the sub-state. Now they just need to win 1 more to make it a home game. Go Lady Rebs!!
  2. I would definitely consider South Greene the favorite to win the region and make it to state right now. However, this doesn't mean that it will be a cake walk by any means. Elizabethton, Unicoi County, and Pigeon Forge might have something to say about that. Also, in a one and done sub-state game who knows what can happen. So, I like South Greene's chances to go to the Boro, but it certainly won't be easy.
  3. I'll take Morristown West in a blowout over Sullivan South. Greeneville in a very close game at Science Hill. Cocke County over Tennessee High because of the home court advantage. Sullivan Central over Jeff County (I really have no clue on this one)
  4. It's a shame that South Greene moves to district 2 next year. These last few years have had some great district games between SG, Betsy, and Unicoi. Oh well, hopefully now the South Greene-Greeneville rivalry will really pick up with them being in the same district now.
  5. So, South Greene wins in overtime. Must have been a heck of a game, I wish I could've been there. I look forward to a great regional tournament with all of these team battling it out again.
  6. I have a weird feeling that Elizabethton gets SG this time but then SG repays them in the regional final. Anyway it should be a great game. I do agree that South Greene has that quality (kind of like Duke) where you either love them or hate them. Even though I went to Greeneville, I still like to watch them play because of the intensity that they bring.
  7. This crap about Greeneville shouldn't be allowed to host is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Burley is just as big as most of the 4A stadiums around here. So, if we can't host a game then most schools shouldn't be able to either.
  8. I don't know what the AD is thinking saying Burley only seets 3500. I know that Hal Henard seats 3000. (That's our basketball gym for you guys not from Greeneville.) So, Burley is a heck of a lot bigger than Hal Henard is.
  9. You South people are starting to sound pretty rediculous. Saying you'll be cheering like crazy for G'ville even while you're saying it was a miracle that we won against South in the first place and that we'll get destroyed by Maryville. We very well might get destroyed but the bottom line is we'll be playing on Friday and you all won't. I know that sounds harsh and like I'm trying to rub it in, but you all started it with your crap about how South would beat us 9 times out of 10.
  10. I agree that the crowd will be huge, but I don't see how it could be bigger than the game against Elizabethton in 1998 when Jason Witten played for EHS. People were standing around everywhere and parking was absolutely insane!
  11. This is the first year for the turf, but the stadium has been there a while.
  12. Thanks for the link Kev-O. I can't hardly believe that that game was in the second round! It was about mid 20's from what I remember, but like I said, I was about 8 or 9. I guess playoffs were set up a lot differently back then for us to be playing Cleveland that soon in the playoffs. My bad on thinking it was the semi's.
  13. Ok, I've been hearing that this is GHS's 2nd time in the semifinals. I know the other 1 was in Maryville in 2000, but didn't we play at Cleveland in the semi's sometime in the mid 90's like around 1995 or so? That game was about as cold as the one tonight but I was only about 8 years old so I couldn't remember if it was in the semi's or not, but I certainly assume it was the semi's.
  14. Come on now guys. Don't rub it in to the fine people from South. That was an amazing game and I'm really glad I decided to brave the cold and go. Great win Devils and good luck next week on trying to pull the upset against maryville.
  15. This is a really low scoring game. But, I'm sure that it's really exciting. Go Lady Devils!!
  16. I don't know how anybody can say that Greeneville has a cocky fan base. We may have a few who run their mouth a little bit on here, but they don't represent the entire fan base. And trust me, I know we're not taking a 35-1 team lightly no matter what kind of schedule they played.
  17. Hopefully Greeneville's state tournament experience will show in this one. With Millington being a young team, perhaps they'll be a little bit more nervous than the Greeneville girls who have been there before. If Greeneville can control the tempo then I say they will win the game in one of their typical low scoring games.
  18. How do you all think this one turns out? And if anybody knows anything about Millington it would be greatly appreciated.
  19. Sounds like Dickson should be able to have a great game. NE's posts will have to come out and gaurd her because she has a tremendous mid range game. She shoots 3's occasionally(maybe 3 or 4 a game, or more if she gets hot) She poses huge matchup problems being a 6 footer with that kind of range. I really like her chances of doing some damage come Thursday.
  20. This game will be all about tempo. If Greeneville can slow it down then they should win. If it becomes a run and gun then Northeast might win big.
  21. Great game by Nicole Dickson tonight. She really carried the load with Deans not having a very good night.
  22. The all-tourney team was about right in my opinion. And I'm a Greeneville fan so I'm not just being a Big 9 homer.
  23. Now OR has Science Hill coming to town. The girls should be fired up to be playing in the last game in their gym. They should come out ready and beat SH by about 15.
  24. I think I'll go with Jenkins from WC for AAA
