I witnessed game FC vs SC boys-I do believe some calls were missed-none that influenced the game-FC needs some defense lessons; boxing out instead of trying to block every shot and a transition game from offense to defense. This cost them more points than the refs did. I believe that FC was more talented but talent only goes so far. Just another man's observation.

There are a few coaches that use profanity as a second way of communicating. They do not have the child's best interest in mind; only promoting their name and their future. They become so frustrated with the rate of their success that it doesn't matter how they behave themselves. (Anger Management, Ego problem, Wanta Be's). Shame on the administrators of any school for allowing any of these behaviors at their schools. These coaches get paid to conduct a job; why are they being allowed to act inappropiately; would it be allowed at your place of business? I recall a ref telling a player at the foul line one night that he doesn't know how you (the player) put up with such. The real coaches get remembered for the example they showed these student athetes in dealing with success when it was good and how to handle adversity when times were not as easy. These are the real lessons of life for many of these kids. For many of these kids, high school maybe all some kids aspire to be. I would hope that the examples and the lessons taught by any coach could be carried over into the real world and not the rememberance of a hot headed and frustrated coach spewing profanity all over the gym at any bump in the road.

I haven't seen any information on 16u state tournament last week in Cookeville. Did it even take place? If yes, who qualified for nationals? What were the surprises? I'm dying to know!

Don't know much about Cumberland though they have been very sucessful this year. One mentioned earlier that they were more guard oriented with one post. My opinion is that Shelbyville is much too strong with it's AJ/JA combination inside to be bullied around inside. JA's presence and determination is stronger than anyone is giving credit. The Buchanan girl, also a post, cannot be overlooked. She provides muscle with excellent shooting ability. The guards are good and can get the job done even though they are not as strong as Shelbyville has had in the past. I have seen nights where the guards were on fire and destroyed teams guarding the inside. Even if a good game plan is worked, the bench is so strong that they eventually wear you down. A strong defense and a rentless in your face press at times causes turnovers that even strong teams have a hard time dealing with. Most of the nights they manage to get this done without many fouls. Don't rule out the coaching. Shelbyville is loaded with coaching talent and this could be the difference. I have not seen any of their coaches panic and become distracted during the game. They are always in control and steady at the helm. This means alot to the girls on any team and also Shelbyville. Yes, they work the refs like a surgeon knowing when to pursue an issue and knowing when to cease. Shelbyville can be beaten as has been proven in their district. I think Shelbyville is peaking at the right time and this can cause probems for the teams they will play in the future. If they stay focused-potential state champion

So how is this 3 way tie settled?

It just seems to me that if spectators pay $5 per person(usually 2-3 per family) that they should expect a good product-not one that ruins the main focus. I have watched very close games with good refs and walked away after losing knowing that the opposition was better than we were that day. I have watched close games where the refs were terrible and could not decide who the best team really was! I have been to games where our fans and the other fans agreed how terrible some of the refs were. Why do TSSAA supervisors allow this? Maybe some of the supervisors need to be re-evaluated. I have seen games where superviors came to the game and laughed and giggled about spectator anger about fairness. Some attention needs to be directed to this subject. Spectator frustration that is unsportsmanlike probably is caused because it is allowed to go on and on and lack of address of these issues by the proper authorities. Just needing to vent.

New coach???? March 16th could be the day! Unidentified stranger sighted in FC gym today and unconfirmed call from Superintendent was accidently made to local sports announcer while on air!!!! What's up FC? Keep your ears glued to radio Thursday morning!
