  1. Yeah as far as football, i would agree. At the same time, I feel like karns is another program that someone could go in and turn around.
  2. I think it runs even deeper than just that tho. I feel like it’s a whole culture problem within the program and was kinda there with the previous coach and got way worse. They have athletes. They are good in other sports. I think they need someone who is able to breathe new life and excitement —find some things for the kids to buy into.
  3. I mean…HVA just has nothing much going for them right now. It’s unfortunate because they are a big school, they have athletes - maybe not as many playing football as some other schools, but some nice players- and the right ingredients but it’s just not coming together for them. Bearden in a fairly lopsided game, in my opinion.
  4. To be fair, Farragut was missing a good amount of starters/key players, too.
  5. Thanks! My son is #50 on the D line. He was pretty bummed last night but there’s a lot of season to play. also, just wanted to say that the hospitality and friendliness from everyone we met from Beech was just awesome. Everyone was so kind and helpful. It’s always nice to play in a venue like that especially when you travel so far! Much appreciated!
  6. Congratulations to Beech. Tough loss for the Admirals. I wish it had turned out differently but much respect to Beech’s team. I enjoyed the concession stand and the great atmosphere. Good luck to y’all the rest of the season.
  7. Does anyone know if there is a bag policy at Beech’s stadium? I have small kids and want to bring a bag of little toys to keep them entertained. Also a diaper bag for the baby. Will they allow this or does it need to be clear?
  8. I’m traveling with a van load of children, so I definitely wish I could. Between the potty breaks and are we there yet questions, I’m sure I’ll be wishing for some by the time we arrive!
  9. Hahahahaha, thanks Bounder! Some of that spray cheese in the can could be nice too.
  10. It will be whine and cheese if this line doesn’t shape up! I’ll be doing the whining!
  11. That sounds amazing! Our whole family is going so all the food options will be great. I’m really looking forward to it!
  12. Agree with this. I think they probably will grow and develop as a team over the season. There is some talent I am excited about at DL, RB and WR. And our QB and kicker/punter are certainly bright spots.
  13. Awww thanks! I’ve never been to Beech and I’m really looking forward to it! Thanks for the warm welcome.
  14. Hey Eers! Farragut is generally a pretty good team. Not sure how this season will go for us, definitely some things we need to work on. If I had to guess, I would say it may not be one of our better seasons, but I’m hopeful that I’ll be proven wrong. Our QB is pretty good and we have some talented receivers and running backs. Some good D linemen too. Kick/punt game is solid. I kinda feel like for us, it comes down to what that O like is gonna do and how well our secondary defends the pass game. Those areas have been a challenge in the pre season.
  15. Congratulations Oak Ridge! I’ll be pulling for y’all next week!
  16. This! I don’t want to throw out accusations but it kinda sounds like their doctor was trying to “make it okay”. Why an antibody test? Why not repeat a regular Covid test? Two of my kids have had covid and we have been told both times by our doctors office that the antibody test would only be positive if the patient had the virus in their system for a fairly lengthy amount of time . We even asked how long and were told at minimum a few days. Maybe longer. So that makes me wonder if their doctor wasn’t kind of trying to “help” the kid test negative. I feel like most doctors know that the antibody test isn’t always accurate for a recent case. And plenty of people with covid have normal pulse ox stats so why was that used like “evidence” that kid didn’t have covid. The whole thing with the kids doctor reeks of BS to me. Not to mention the whole “our kids don’t get within six feet of each other” “ they are only close for 30 seconds or less.” I’m not buying it. I see how football practices go and how players are. Coaches and admin do their best and try their hardest but honestly those kids get closer and in bunches more than you’d like. It’s a constant effort. I feel like McMinn had a kid with a positive test. No games should be played until he and the kids In his position group he practiced closely with on Monday (and probably Sunday) were contact traced and quarantined. It was the right decision to postpone the game even tho that super sucks for all the kids. In the end tho, if the game couldn’t be played, this was the right decision.
  17. Then once again we have DB who has no issue here being slowed down because McMinn possibly a covid Issue and then McMinn can’t get their documentation in. How long does DB get to be screwed over because McMinn has an unfortunate mess on their hands.
  18. I feel like once again the issue is on McMinn’s end. Now we are waiting on MCMinn co health dept. I’d love to see them play but that’s not going to happen. Give them a firm deadline and then make a decision.
  19. What if in the course of DB inquiring about what contact tracing had be done by McMinn and which players should be quarantined, McMinn countered with a “didn’t y’all have Covid recently? Which of your players are in a 14 day quarantine?” And now the whole “submitting data and evidence” is the TSSAA telling both teams to Submit proof that they properly quarantined all the players they should have- each of them being asked to prove via documentation that they responded to any Covid situation appropriately and should be able to play. And it’s taking a while b/c they have to wade through all the documentation and await responses from health departments and get statements.
  20. Understood. I would love to see them play but the longer this goes on the less I think it’s a possibility.
  21. I read somewhere else that the TSSAA has said their answer would come “at the earliest, Monday” and somewhere else that it should have been announced by noon today which we are obviously past. could it be that we are all waiting for an answer that isn’t coming today? I hope not.
  22. Can they go on hold tho? I thought that earlier in the season, talk of moving the blue cross bowl games was considered not feasible because of the timing, staff available and contracts in place for the specific weekend it’s scheduled for, that basically it couldn’t be moved. If it could then I think that *could* be an option. McMinn may be down a few players tho if it’s determined that a portion of their team was exposed to a positive teammate and is/was supposed to quarantine for 14 days.
