  1. Well, we'll see what it looks like when it counts. MC should come into the season highly motivated after the train wreck they had at the end of last year.
  2. Page should be the clear favorite. Nolensville lost a big senior class, including the QB, so it will take some time to develop consistent play.
  3. Might be some interest in this game. Nolensville tickets gone in less than 10 minutes.
  4. No promises but Nolensville High has a YouTube channel which has streamed some games this year. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMj1scwwurSrsgbqvTpP7Pw/videos
  5. Gotcha. We'll take new fans wherever we can get them. Many people may not realize this but Nolensville is only 5 years old so there isn't a deep well of experience for them to draw from. I think this may be Coach Derrick's 3rd year. They're learning as they go and aren't doing too shabby. I really wish these were non-Covid times so everyone could see a full-fledged Friday Night Lights. It's quite the show when the band and students are rocking.
  6. Last year was last year. Elizabethton was the better team but they certainly did not get the Knights best effort. Put together a 5 hour bus ride, first time that deep in the playoffs, playing in the largest stadium you've been in all year with a hostile crowd and losing your Mr. Football in the 1st Quarter and you can see where things might go off the rails. They still managed to at least keep it close at the half as I recall. Elizabethton pulled away as the Knights pressed on offense without their best deep threat on the field and mistakes were made. Who knows if this year will be different? Like last week, Nolensville is playing with house money but this time they're on their own turf. They should be loose. This team has not had many penalties due to lack of discipline so it would be surprising to see much of that after everyone gets by the kickoff jitters.
  7. There didn't seem to be much of a Plan B with Nolensville keeping #2 contained. The kid is going to make plays but only had 2-3 backbreakers on the night. The Nolensville DL held up to Tullahoma's OL and there was little ground to be had when they tried to run up the gut with anyone else. I can't remember more than 1 or 2 passes caught by anyone other than #2. Kudos to Coach Derrick and his staff for solving the puzzle in 4 days.
  8. Tullahoma had a special season but had not been tested. Nolensville had to pull out 4th Quarter wins in 2 of their last 3. That helped in clutch time. Tullahoma looked tight most of the game. Wow. What an unbelievable run for this team. They continued to grow all season.
  9. COVID is shutting down Williamson Co. schools starting today and rest assured it's coming to more counties. I'm thrilled there was a season at all this year. Let's hope we can get to the finish line and a gold ball is not determined by a COVID forfeit.
  10. Sad way for it to end for those MC seniors. There was something "off" about this team when we saw them a couple weeks ago. The sum of this team is less than the total you get when adding up the parts.
  11. Never too soon, right? :). Tullahoma will no doubt be the prohibitive favorite (2 TD's or more) and no one outside of Nolensville will give the Knights a chance. That's cool. Tullahoma has earned that respect this year. NHS was one of the few teams that didn't get completely boat raced by Tullahoma. If they can keep their composure and force some turnovers or get some big plays, it might still be a game in the 4th. NHS has a senior QB which helps a lot. The offense is much improved from the start of the season as young players have matured. Their visit to Tullahoma a few weeks ago should help them be better prepared for the onslaught. Nothing to lose so hopefully they'll lay it all out there and play loose.
  12. Great game in Smithville. Nolensville wins 24-17. Dekalb Co. is a good team. Their lack of depth caught up with them in the second half.
  13. NHS has a big senior class but no superstars. I'm aware of only a few with college offers. They know their system well and play as a unit. Different heroes every night. I know nothing about Dekalb other than what was seen last year. No doubt they'll come out fired up at home and NHS better be ready for it. The blitzkrieg they faced at Tullahoma should help prepare them.
  14. We're all entitled to our opinions. Mine is that Nolensville is a better team than Marshall County this year. MC only stayed in the game because of long runbacks on kicks giving them a short field. Otherwise, Nolensville beats them by two touchdowns or more. MC has athletes and can be a much better team but they weren't that night.
  15. Got it. I understand the bracketing now. That makes last night's game even bigger. You can't take anything for granted in the playoffs but on paper it looks like Nolensville got the better side of the bracket leading to the Quarters.
  16. Maybe I don't have a good grasp of the playoff schedule. Don't 8 teams go at it from 2 regions? I expect Tullahoma to be hosting the game in round 3.
  17. It was pretty even as I had a hunch it might be. MC has some good athletes but could use better team discipline. Lots of penalties kept putting them in holes. #2 kept them in the game with big kick returns, scoring on 1. He also juiced their running game. Otherwise the MC offense was mostly flat tonight. Nolensville had a good game plan that kept MC's defense off balance most of the night. Expect to see these teams to meet again in 2 weeks.
  18. This should be a good game between what appear to be two evenly matched teams when looking at common opponents. But these are high school kids playing in a very unusual season so who knows? If Nolensville can play like they did in the second half against Tullahoma, they will give MC all they can handle. Nolensville does not have superstars, unlike last year. They are a solid, well-coached team with probably more strength and experience on defense than offense. The superstars are a year or two away, namely #2 and #82 if they stay healthy and bulk up. Their backup QB also looked pretty good when called on to start against Lawrence Co. This may be the last these two teams see of each other for a while if Nolensville is going 5A.
  19. 29-14 Final. Tullahoma got the big jump in the first half playing at home on senior night with a region title on the line. #2 definitely makes their offense go. Knights did not fold and went toe-to-toe with them in the second half. Impressed by the sportsmanship and respect shown to each other on the field. That comes from the parents and coaches. Good young men out there.
  20. I haven't seen Tullahoma or Marshall Co. but my guess is both will be ahead of Nolensville. The Knights are down a bit this year after graduating an above average senior class including Mr. Football 4A and making it to the state semis. They are well-coached and know their system but there are not any superstars that I've seen yet. The only standout players I have seen are #54 (DT/DE) and #11 the QB. The QB can run hot and cold but I attribute some of that to an undersized receiving corps. The starting RB shows promise but needs more time to fill out. I think he's only a sophomore. We'll know soon enough who this year's top dog will be if COVID stays away. I'm just glad to see the kids out there.
  21. Keep an eye on Wagner at 195. He is 1-1 v. Clevenger this year. I'd give him the dark horse label.
  22. Blazer1 has it right. There is no longtime rivalry here and the 2 teams don't know each other and will probably never see each other again. Nolensville is bound for 5A or 6A soon. My hope is both teams leave their best on the field, no one gets hurt and the refs call it straight. The sun will still rise in Elizabethton and Nolensville tomorrow regardless of what happens after that. Support your boys no matter the color of their uniform and be a class example for them.
