Stars I'm not giving maryville nothing, you guys earned it. With heavy graduation at maryville last year and Alcoa seems to be stronger than last year I have to go with the tornadoes. This game is only for bragging rights, lord willing both teams will be in cookeville at the end of the season, i just don't think Oakland is as strong as last year so this is the year that maryville breaks the trend since 2016 the home team wins in maryville vs Oakland

Fulton is down now but the 13 and 14 team is two of the best ever in Tennessee

Alcoa is probably the best team in Tennessee losing to them is no shame, maryville have lost to them several times in the regular season and still won state in 6a. Imo I'm glad the playoffs doesn't start now for db because I don't believe they're there yet, the defense is top 5 in 6a the offense is a little behind, I listened to the interview after the bearden game an the offense realize their not where they should be so they are staying extra after practice to get more in align, I think the offense will eventually come along it's just they're not there yet to be in cookeville

I think West cancel the game just like Bearden and the game against murvil got reschedule for both teams open date, so Bearden is either coming into the game 0-1 or 0-0. I don't know much about Bearden someone else can tell you more but I do know usually in a down year they always have athletes

We all know db has a very good team this year but lets not wake up the beast in murvil let them stay down at 825. As of right now db isn't ready for the ville, if anybody was at or listen to the db game last night that really felt like a 56-0 drumming but mistakes after mistakes limit it to 35-0. Db held tn high to 45 total yards and that's shutting down two d1 athletes, that's unreal. Now them two athletes are almost good as it gets but murvil don't come with 2 athletes they bring the whole army. Db needs to polish some things an take it 1 game at a time and come midseason I like their chances against anybody

I listen to the game on the radio, you might have been in person so you will know a lot more of what really went on then me, but just listening on the radio db defensive front just man handled tn high offensive line an their qb didn't have any time to sit back in the pocket, so everything was just quick slants. That made it easier for Cody to guard Keller, keller didn't have a chance for any separation, still Cody did a tremendous job, I did hear once tn high qb had some breathing room and let it rip downfield and it was 1 on 1 coverage and I can't remember if that was the play Cody got the interception or he just made a great defensive play. I listen to the players and coaches interviews after the game and they said that was their gameplan that Keller wasn't going to beat us. It's only 1 game but there might be something to put a lot of smiles on people faces in Kingsport and I'm not talking about Pals.

Hold up I missed spoke earlier I just recieved confirmation that Mykal Jones transfer to tn high he is either coming from Baylor or Red bank, he might be even a better athlete than Jaden keller, kingsport folks when you get a chance look this kid up, this game just got really interesting

Batman your right tn high has had many great teams but what I'm hearing this year outside of Keller they don't have much to offer. I do know the qb is Steve Johnson son, he built the pinnacle and played for the Cowboys and Patriots, so with his money and resources I don't know how many camps or professional qb that have worked with his son, he could be another xfactor that I'm overlooking it's just I don't know enough about him.

Db is going to win regardless but I think db caught a break with the rain cause that is going to limit Keller speed. I could be wrong but I think I read somewhere that coach Christian and coach May's were college roommates so I can see Christian calling off the dogs early. I'm pumped for this game I'll be listening on the radio.

Like y'all are saying gc greatest teams were in the 70's, they had some decent teams in the 80's, but their 95-97 teams were special, with jake housewright and Chad Beasley both eventually played in the national championship game for va tech against fla st. Beasley went on to play in the NFL, their qb was josh shoemaker who was 6'9 he went to wake forest but for basketball. Beasley dad had a pro career and would have been on the 70's gc teams but I believe he played high school ball somewhere in northern Virginia. I would love to have seen that 90's team against db, db would have beating them every time cause gc had too many going both was but I still would have like to have witness it.

How come db and gate city really never locked horns in football. From the 70's throughout 00's probably around 2010 there would have many classic, massive paydays for both programs and some of them games if you wasn't there by 6 you wouldn't get a seat. That rivalry could have been on par with db vs south, db would have a decisive win edge against gate city but some of those years gate city could have held their own, then the series needed to end around 2010 or so because gate city today is a shell of themselves.

Foreman was my favorite player ever to watch in high school. Batman I don't know how much info you have on this Adkins kid but if yall land him yall in good hands. I can't go against maryville until proven otherwise so i would make Oakland the favorite just because the semi they would host, maryville second, this set's up db 3rd. Teams will have to put 8 in the box then everything is open

Blazer that 2012 db team was great, the thing that hurt them was swafford and foreman did everything offensively for them and then turned around and played defense, kick return and punt return, midway during the 3rd quarter against maryville they had nothing left. Trenton Adkins doesn't play defense, he's strictly offense and with him we're no longer talking d1 this is NFL material.

You are talking about Trenton Adkins, Clintwood and Haysi combined to form Ridgeview Wolfpack. If none of yall seen this kid yet go ahead an Google him, he's special. If this rumor ends up being true then maryville, Oakland and dobyns Bennett easily the best three teams in 6a.

I know a couple years ago when they did the reclassification they really considered bumping tn high down to 4a, I don't know where their numbers stand now but at the time they were the smallest 5a school, so if they do go back to just 5 classification there's a chance tn high gets bump down
