Having watched LA and CPA in person who do you got? I will be listening to the Maryville and West game, hopefully I get to catch most of the 2nd half of LA/CPA, because of my work schedule I don't get to catch many games but I'm always listening on the radio. I did fix my schedule to attend Maryville vs Alcoa and for those who haven't been to that game it's must see

So would I, like yall are saying this year Oakland team is very good but probably not the best, I'm just very impressed of what they are doing the last two seasons, the gauntlet of schedule they have beating, and beating a very good Riverdale team twice in a season isn't some small task

Batman I'm surprised nobody has mentioned your 2018 Greene devils, they were loaded with d1-d2 talent

First off there is no right or wrong answers, it's only a matter of opinions. I'd be the first to say I only been keeping up with the depth of TN since 2005, the locals like Db, sh, Betsy, TN high, Greeneville, etc, I've been keeping up a lot longer. I know TN has/had a lot of great teams but what Oakland has/is doing the last two seasons is this Oakland team the best ever to hit TN, I'm am aware that Oakland could have lost twice this season against two dominant private schools this year, listening to the Oakland announcers talk about how Cpa looks like a college team I thought Oakland was definitely in trouble but they pulled it out. I mostly hear people say the 94 Riverdale team is the best ever in TN and I'm not doubting it but when I read an article about them and seen they barely beat DB something around 26-21 personally it's hard for me to put them 1st

No two people are the same, so we all have our different opinions that what causes some bickering on these threads but I can honestly say no matter how much we disagree when something tragic happens to a Player, Coach, Cheerleader, Bandmember, an Announcer or a Coacht Poster the Coacht family stick together. I don't know if his parents know anything about Coacht but their son has much love on here, I know he will be miss

Only details I know that it wasn't a suicide he just jumped off the 421 bridge, that's like a popular thing to do for teenagers, so many have done it and was successful, I've never heard of anyone drowning from jumping off so something had to go wrong when he did it

Hearts are heavy at Tn High as #20 Micah Montgomery drowned, I didn't attend the game but I know he had a 67 yard td against karns

6a stop wasting everybody time just go ahead and mail Oakland the state champ trophy. Alcoa are Dem boys, if Alcoa had maryville enrollment this wouldn't even be a rivalry

Bc I love watching the Alcoa documentary, seeing you and throwtheslant I was jumping off the couch telling my wife and kids hey I know these guys and then my big head made a couple appearances on the documentary. All the talent yall lost off last year team I thought you guys would be slightly down, seems tall might be even better, good luck this season

Maryville is top 3 in the state, in no particular order Maryville, Alcoa and Oakland are your top 3, I don't count the private schools, I just think this is going to be closer than most expect because Powell defense just got gashed for 41. Powell has the talent and offensive firepower to make it very interesting for 4 quarters and none of us has to believe they can pull this off but I bet the Powell kids believe that's all that matters

Yeah I agree, nobody is going to compare Ac to maryville as a whole that would be crazy but some were down on Powell for giving up 41 Ac offensively probably top 5 or 10 in the state, now Ac isn't a top 10 team even though they're no slouch, Ac would have put 17-20 on Maryville but Maryville would have hung 69 on them so it would have been a blowout

We all know and we all get it Maryville, Alcoa and Oakland are on a different level. We all know lord willing the semifinals at Maryville is the state championship game, the loser of that game would win state. Oakland as of late have become juggernauts but they still have to keep adding to their resume, as for Maryville and Alcoa they don't have to win another game their legacy and reputation is set in stone, what both program has done the last 20 so years will never be matched in Tn again. Is Maryville a better team than Ac no doubt, Maryville is overall better defensively, coaching and special teams but just strictly on offense Ac is better than Maryville or equal. We all know Ac doesn't preach any defense that's why they don't have any state championships as of late. I don't see Maryville offense doing more damage to Powell defense than Ac. Maryville will stay away from running to #99 side, he's going to get double and triple team, maryville will get rid of the ball quick and Powell needs to watch out for the screen pass. Powell needs to press the receivers at the line of scrimmage to give #99 time to do his damage, for Powell to win it needs to be a 31-30. I will admit it's going to be a tough task to go in an upset the rebels at home but with a team like Powell it's not impossible

The Carson Jenkins kid at Gate City torched THS defense, yes it was just a scrimmage but Gate City only won like 5 games in 4yrs THS shouldn't have let GC get the better of them. The QB is much improved for the Vikings just because who his dad is so the kid resources is endless. #3 is a speedster and I believe THS is running the spread this season where their line is small so on an attempt to keep the QB at of harm way. The stud receiver from last year is gone he has been moved to linebacker at Va Tech. Lord botetourt getting the better of Db they shouldn't hang their heads, Botetourt would get the best of alot of teams in tn, the last 2 seasons botetourt were runners up in Va and they have a few state championships to go along I just don't know what years. Of course Db isn't the same team as last season having to replace so many starters but this isn't the game where they'll be challenged DB 42-7

Congrats to Alcoa and the tornado fans, especially Bcsportsfan and Throwdeslant. Hopefully lord willing we can meet up again, I really enjoyed myself at the Db/Alcoa game with you guys

I picked Oakland to win it all, must admit you had me nervous a little when you said this Oakland team wasn't as good as previous year's and I couldn't argue with you because you have actually seen them play and I haven't. You honest opinion how do you think this year Oakland team would fair against the 16 and 18 squad
