How long will your coach stay around? I see he has a track record of kind of jumping around every 5-6 years. Now that Swafford is gone you think there is any chance he bolts and raids another program? It’s hard to keep good coaches at these smaller programs.

Meigs has had a terrific run the past several seasons. I think they will be at least a quarterfinal team again next year.

They would have had to have a good one to slow down 500 yards rushing from Meigs this past Friday night. I know that’s why I made the statement above. lol

Roy if Pickett ran a 4.39 back when he played then he probably was around a 4.5 if timed accurately by today’s timing practices.

This should be a real good game. SP has only played one team in Greenback’s class (Meigs) while Greenback has played two teams in SP’s class (Loudon and Meigs.) No doubt that this is two of the four best teams in 1A. It seems like a few years ago there was some discussion that we weren’t as good as their quarterfinal opponent. I don’t think that’s the case in this one.

It seems we use to play them about every season. Then we had a little break before last season between games. Now it seems to be back to normal. Go Pirates!

I’m Not that I know of. I am saying Huntingdon wins by 35.

I do not look for this game tomorrow to be very close. The rain could have some effect but it shouldn’t make a huge difference.

You’re driving from Greenback to Huntland? You must be hard up for a good time. It’s only about 1:15 away from us but I’m sure not going. I think it will be over early.

That’s a fair answer for sure. That’s all I was really curious about. Y’all would maybe have been more a running team I guess. I’ve seen 23 he’s obviously a great talent and my pick to win the award.

Mr. Roy I’m not interested in bickering with anyone about it. It’s playoff time for all these kids. It’s not meant to upset anyone I was just kind of curious about it. I guess I’m kind of thinking ahead to next season.

I know this is going to make some upset but it’s really not directed that way. Hypothetically.. who would have been the QB if the kid from Maryville hadn’t come? Who would have been the RB had Rutgerson not came? I just see that those two have put together some unreal stats and was curious about it. The QB has around 4000 total yards and the RB/WR has over 1000 yards. That’s a bunch of yards.

Congrats to Ronto on making the finalists. I believe he’s one of the 4-5 best overall players in 1A along with the other 2 finalist. I think Willis will win this award hands down though.

You are right it will probably be a mental hurdle for SP since The Greenback’s have owned us lately. The home field for them will also help. First things first though.. Gordonsville is coming to town. They are always a tough hard nosed bunch. Hopefully we bring our A game this week!

Hey I like our team. I’m just going by what the consensus here seems to be.

I do not lie sir. I have no problem being the favorite. I’m not so sure SP is the favorite though. Someone said it best here yesterday. Greenback has been the measuring stick the past 5-6 years in the east. This SP team is a good team but that game is probably one that could go either way. Two years ago I believe Greenback was head and shoulders better than the rest of the East. I think it’s more even this time. As for the gold coming East. I believe two great teams in the west might have something to say about it as well.

From the things said on the other thread this game is basically for second in the east. I don’t know anything about Gordy this year other than scores but this SP team is a good dang team.

Could be a shoot out next week then. This SP team won’t go down easily.

Gordonsville typically plays the Pirates tough. Last year was a prime example. We were huge favorites and barely won.
