Unless some 113 guys drop to 106 I would say Walker may be a lock. The 2nd best 106 may be on his own team.

I understand but that thinking is just unrealistic and has an unintended negative impact on the kids. They have all already certified. Regardless, the extra week of wrestling created by the dumb Region/Substate structure is silly. Just not sure I see the point other than ticket sales for the host teams.

The State schedule is beyond absurd but so is the Region/Substate structure. Region 3 only has 7 schools and 4 wrestlers go to Substate. Having these kids make weight an extra week is just irresponsible.

The 3 days is ridiculous and not looking out for the health of the kids. Having to make weight three days in a row is absurd.

Yep. Honestly I was surprised the first two matches between Cleveland and Bradley were not close. These kids have all wrestled each other so many times it is just a battle. Summit looked good. WC is always good. Nolensville and DB impressed. Great for the sport.

Little points here and there were big for Cleveland tonight. Only giving up 4 at 113, and only 3 each at 152 and 182 were big. Great match. Bradley wrestled really well all day.

No doubt Nolensville wrestled tough but Cleveland wrestled 3 backups and forfeited the last match.

Bradley also did not have Wyatt James at 120. It will be a good match but Bradley wins.

Who determines the bracket? I assume Bradley and WC will be on the other side from Cleveland (and probably Summit).

Cleveland beat Bradley last night and will wrestle Oakland tomorrow.

They are a very good team as they won the tournament running away which included some good TN teams. Would have loved to have watched the Terrell versus Seng match.

Scratch that. Track had the names reversed. Seng wins which makes more sense. Should be good one with Bryson in finals.

Not going to win 113. Their kid got smoked in the semis by Johnson who is solid but not elite. Bryson wins this tournament easily.

LOL. No one is making excuses I was simple pointing out Cleveland didn’t enter a wrestler in 2 weight classes and clearly stated it may not have made a difference. I think FR has a great team. I think they lose to Baylor but think it will be close and they certainly could win. And I agree that Baylor might have beaten Cleveland at full strength - never said otherwise. FR gave Cleveland a close dual match. I was surprised they lost to Woodland the next day whom Cleveland destroyed. Matchups matter. Why so salty, bro? Your team is really good.

Is Patterson still wrestling at Bradley?

Gobel went 113 at Father Ryan so I expect he goes 113 the rest of the way.

The Irish did have a good tournament and are a very good team. They won some right matches for which they should get credit. However, Cleveland did not enter a 145 or HWT wrestler. Davis would have won the tournament and Cooper would have done well. That may not have made a difference but at a minimum would have made it much closer. And as you say a tournament is different than a dual meet. Should be a good one between FR and Baylor.

Logan lost to Ford as well.

Wilson Central will be good again. By my count, returning medalists are Cleveland (7), Bradley (6), and WC (5). Will be interesting where all the really good light weights at Cleveland and Bradley shake out.

That’s 4 returning champs, 3 runner-ups and lots of very good back-ups and freshmen for Cleveland. That will be tough to beat.

I’d predict Laxton to beat Kaufman making it 7-7. Not sure about the Boyd/Garriques match. It would have been a fun dual to see.

Good selections. I get the Desselle pick because it was a much deeper weight class and the kid is very, very good but hard not to give it to Fowler as the state champ. I would add Terrell to sophomore honorable mention. Kid was great all year and didn’t lose until the finals. I would add Ashton Davis to the Junior honorable mention. Workman-like dominance and brought the hammer to state. I might also add Jackson Bradford to Senior honorable mention - except for a bad day at the duals he was dominant in a deep weight class.

Heard that ... and it makes sense. Big effort to fight all the way back for 3rd.
