  1. I am gonna go out on a limb and say York wins if Beatty doesn't foul out
  2. Is this the guy that was at Jackson Christian
  3. You may know more about the incident, but obviously not about the post if you're asking if Hart is leaving. I'm pretty sure @wtnbballfan2 was being sarcastic.
  4. I think that post went over your head.
  5. There was one bald young white guy. Not sure where he was from, but he was the absolute worse.
  6. The west tennessee association officials, one was at D2 tournament and two were at D1 boys. Not sure why none had girls.
  7. Actually, I was there, and I agree, officials were terrible for girls and boys. In my opinion, 3 or 4 players should not foul out in a game on that stage. However, I stand by South Gibson will struggle until they can score. Thats just my assessment and opinion. As good as Dunn is, she's not a point guard and her being the primary ball handler has taken away from her scoring which they need.
  8. This is the message! I understand coaches shouldn't be out on the floor coaching or near the middle of the scorers table, but a foot or 2 out the box get over it, denying a kid on the floor due to a logo or writing on their underneath apparel or making them take off apparel for writing or stitching. The game is now about the officials who by the way normally are paid before the game even starts. They want to be seen and feel important.
  9. South Gibson had that best spot on the bracket and couldn't get the job done. They struggled to score for the 2nd straight year. 14 last year and 29 this year. Their defense isn't what people say it is. Their a solid team, but I don't see them being much better next season. #23 is a hand full, but I expected more out of the freshman #24 and #33 use to be a shooter, but Embry has her playing point now. Dyersburg and South Side is my way too early prediction from that new region.
  10. They never call the tournaments the same. They'll let the boys play extremely physical, similar to the 3A girls championship game
  11. I said cupcake schedule, not they aren't a good team. Their zone defense is designed to do just what it has done, keep the game low scoring and/or keep their opponents low scoring. Hats off to Coach Haskins and his team, they played well. They got great play from #10 and #33 to compliment Gray and Sims. Impressive tournament.
  12. Officiating was awful this week. The foul on Beaty was terrible. Officials don't cost teams games, but bad calls, missed calls, or no calls can change the momentum and dynamic of a game. York may very well lose the game, but disqualifying their best player on what was a no call play hurts any chance York had of winning. Also, the technical foul call on White Co's coach. Game Changer!
  13. Every year that I've been lately
  14. Northview was pretty good. South Side missed a ton of FTs and the 2 early fouls to #4 hurt them. They fought, but couldn't make the right play to ever get the lead where they needed it. I thought they let Northview get away with some fouls that may have swung the momentum to South Side.
  15. Officiating on the state level has been bad for the past 2 or 3 years. TSSAA has to do something. It's too ticky tack and feelings based. Let the kids play amd determine the game. The tech to White Co coach was awful.
  16. How close can Coffee Co. make it? I hear they are pretty good Where do the kids from Rogersville City go to high school?
  17. I don't think maxpreps rankings mean much. There are a ton of schools that don't report or report accurately.
  18. Me also. How is the reigning champion not the favorite, especially if white county wasn't there the last couple years?
  19. So the transfer kid is now being allowed to play, finally?
  20. Lexington and Macon were eliminated
  21. I believe AAA plays Thurs Fri Sat
  22. I definitely agree. However, this generation of athletics, that's the nature of the beast. I asked because in another conversation I heard someone mention that some see coaching at both levels could be a form of recruiting. Jackson has too many schools and the talent can definitely be spread out more. Being a native here, the past has hurt programs like North Side and Liberty who both once had state tournament teams. From what I have gathered, athletics is a part of it, but there are other factors that effect school choice also.
  23. I finally got some info on your concern from a couple of credible sources familiar with the middle school and the high school. The middle school coach requested that the high school girls, which included one of her former players, come speak to her team about playing on that bigger stage since they have that experience. Her asst coach is a graduate and former played of the high school. From what I read in the TSSAA bylaws, that is not a violation. In relation to your assumption about swaying kid's decisions, what do you think about coaches coaching middle school and high school? I can see the swaying happening in that sense also. There is a lot of rumors and things I hear about via hearsay or just in general conversation that I would think is a recruiting violation, but it's being done all over.
