  1. A good hire will keep them going. Definitely need a good DC. Blackman will still be able to put points up but got to stop teams that shouldn't have put up as many points as they did. Tygard did a great job building up the youth programs and a lot of talent going into the middle school and high school in coming years. The high school will be fine with the right hire, I am more interested to see the effect on the youth programs. Because Tygard was very involved with all of it.
  2. Going to need to make a big hire. All these kids transferred to Blackman to get in Tygard's system now this is going to shake up some things.
  3. Comical that you think kids from Station Camp or Beech would go to Gallatin after these upcoming classes from both schools have done nothing but beat Rucker and Shafer at the middle school level and Gallatin's freshman teams. New coach has to worry about beating Station Camp first before he worries about recruiting their kids.
  4. Kid from Friendship Christian transferring to Riverdale surprised me.
  5. Probably very little if any would follow from Jackson, but that’s just assuming things. I know a lot of assistants under Watson are still at Gallatin.
  6. Sumner County doesn't offer the opportunity to go to a school based off academic programs one school has over another. The county is closed zone. Liberty Creek and I believe West Moreland are the only open zone schools in the county.
  7. Free in the sense that he doesn’t have to fundraise any money to get it while he would have to do if he went to Gallatin. I’m not gonna name names but Brooks and Stewart have both made it know around the coaching community that they aren’t leaving.
  8. They have told other high school coaches that. Jamaal has taken East Nash to back to back state games and is about to get a free turf field. Brooks went 11-2 in his first year and is pretty sold on their underclassmen and rising Freshman, as well as taking a new job would force his son to be at his 3rd school in three years. I don't understand why their names have been brought up so much.
  9. Might as well remove Chase Brooks and Jamaal Stewart off that list. They're not taking the job.
  10. TSSAA reasoning behind all of this is they wanted to get ahead of it before lawsuits begin against them in Tennessee. I understand the reasoning but still don't like it. I've seen a lot of people saying this is going to create more recruiting by private schools and so on. In my eyes, private schools have been doing this already for a long time and I don't see them dishing out more money than they already are. In Sumner County Jp2 has been getting kids from Beech, Hendersonville, and Station Camp every single year by offering incentives. I believe all this NIL stuff is going to allow public schools like those the ability of keeping more of those kids. However, that's just in my county; I know around the state it may or may not be a much bigger issue. I can't imagine what Knox County is going to end up like with all of this.
  11. Very possible. I think Quarles offensive philosophy is better suited for collegiate than Creasy's is.
  12. Trousdale needs to get rid of the last Satterfield and start over.. but we know that ain't gonna happen. What has interested me in this whole thing is Watson is promoting a "high paced, no huddle offense similar to what Tennessee does" at Kirkwood. He had the better athletes and ability to do it at Gallatin and never did.. confused me to say the least.
  13. Definitely not. Kevin has too many ties to Beech, coaches the junior Bucs, and has a very successful career in insurance. Seeing talk about Crabtree and Creasy as well. Crabtree ain't leaving Beech, especially for another Sumner County school. The only way Creasy would leave Oakland is for out of state or private and doubt that would happen until his son is out of high school. Rankin is at Boyd Buchanan in Chattanooga. Heard rumors of Scott Blade and I was not expecting to hear that name. I've seen Kirkwood has already announced some assistant coaches and Watson is taking some assistants from Gallatin with him.
  14. Or is the school allowed to use theirs the same way they would if it was a camp the actual team was putting on? Just too many questions left unanswered. From the early stages though it has looked like schools are being diligent in asking for clarification before they proceed with anything
  15. Now athletes can profit from hosting their own camps or training sessions, without wearing a school uniform or clothing with a school logo. Now the question that's unclear: are they able to use school facilities to make this happen? If you have a 5 star kid wanting to host a elementary aged football camp can they do so at their school's field?
  16. I highly doubt they're profiting that much each year.. but just look up their tax return, it's public information. As long as their QB club is run as a non-profit.
  17. "A committee of statewide sports writers selected winners based on performance in the 2022 regular season. Academics and character were also taken into consideration. High school head coaches and members of the media nominated the finalists." So if that is the case, how does a player with 275 yards and 8 TDs more on 42 less carries and one less game in the 2022 regular season not get the award?
  18. What's got you so pressed? We are talking about regular season rushing yards (10 games). Majority of players on this list played 15 games the season they are listed for. Jalen Hurd's year he rushed for 2,211 through 10 games. Both Dowell's and Bishop's numbers were greater than that through 10 games. Give either Dowell or Bishop 15 games and I'm sure they would both be toping that list. Not only that you pulled the list of All Purpose Yards that the award is not based off.
  19. Changed in statistical numbers since then yes. And the runner up to EY was about 300 yards and 15 TDs short of his numbers. We went from the Mr. Football winner in 5A rushing for 1600 yards 4 years ago to now having a guy win it back to back years with 2500+ yards and have other people competing with those numbers. I would've loved to see Latham win it. When a kid is putting up numbers like that with the competition West plays I believe it deserves more recognition.
  20. Everything’s just crazy nowadays. I was at SD with Elijah Young when he won Mr. Football with 1600 yards and now we got kids hitting 3000 in a season.
  21. There has to be some better way for the voting though, however I don’t know what that would be. Bishop has the offers and a historic career, yet Dowell had one of the top three single season rushing yards in Tennessee history. Both were well deserving. Seems like they voted Bishop for his career instead of the year. I feel that if Dowell was playing in a bigger market like Middle TN then he would’ve had more votes, which sucks for the kid.
  22. He was using postseason as well. Regular season stats as I posted above Dowell had 275 yards and 8 TDs more than Bishop with 42 less carries.
  23. I mean White County's QB also passed for 700 yards and rushed for 1600 yards. I'm just not understanding it. Dowell had better stats in two less games this year and played better competition.
