  1. Good list BPM. One would think Haywood could beat all on the list except Henry County, Hardin Co. and Dyersburg, but I haven't followed Haywood this year so that is an assumption. So with leaving Haywood out 7-10 and the outside looking ins are all real close to one another. So going by records I don't see an argument on this list except for Haywood and I may be way off for even mentioning Haywood.
  2. We faced # 33 year before last. I am sure he is even more of a hoss as he was then.
  3. In turn cornersville is going to have fun stopping #14 Tate Surber from dropping dimes all over the place lol.
  4. Mckenzie was well prepared for that game. Seemed like they knew where the play was going every single time.
  5. How is their pass coverage? Do they have a lot of speed in their secondary?
  6. Mckenzie will come out with multiple looks and will run or pass out of all them. The QB is very good at reading defenses and takes what the defense gives him. They make you defend the entire field. This game comes down to whether or not if C'ville is able to bring enough pressure to disrupt things in Mckenzie's backfield. If both defenses are not able to stop each other I like Mckenzie's chances because they can score quickly and in multiple ways.
  7. Rebels are going to have to scratch and claw each week in order to keep advancing. Some freshmen and sophomore's are going to have to step up in some big ways. Cornersville has the ability to grind you out and keep the chains moving. Maybe we can get some guys healthy. I know the injury to # 8 didn't look good do they have a chance to get back #40 or # 21 before next week. Nothing easy from here on out.
  8. Looks like the Rebs took another blow with the loss of their starting RB/DB. Anybody know his status didn't look good. Well wishes to this young man tough football player.
  9. Talent levels are hard to compare both have good players and MC has a great player, but MC is definitely the more experienced team. Mckenzie will have to play very disciplined assignment football with minimal penalties in which with all honesty they really haven't shown they can do yet with much consistency. The MC defense got exploited in this game last year with inside zone runs up the gut that led to several Mckenzie scores. So that is something that MC needed to have fixed from last year to make a deep run in the playoffs this year. Each team has to take one game at a time, but if this game comes to fruition like many think, I hope the Rebels find a way to come out on top. MC definitely has the edge and McK will be the underdog on the road.
  10. With what I am hearing on this thread those are some key injuries and loss of players for the Rebels. Mck. 28 WC- 12
  11. Well you can see I did not put Loretto in either so by default that would exclude Lewis Co. My opinion being that Riverside is the better team. There are several really good teams barely on the outside of this top 5 some with good arguments of why they should be in.
  12. That was 200+ rec. yards I assume. That is very impressive for a freshman.
  13. I agree a Huntingdon/Dresden game would be entertaining for sure and if Huntingdon won I wouldn't be surprised. What I have seen of S. Pitt, they look very good to me. Maybe one of the better teams they have had in a while, but S. Pitt folk can chime in on that. When I was looking @ MC and Huntingdon, I thought I wish these 2 played each other cause that would be a game I would like to see. You couldn't get anymore contrasting styles of offense out of a matchup. It would be very fun to watch.
  14. It shouldn't I think it is pretty accurate. But it is ok to have a different opinion without feathers being ruffled.
  15. This would be my top 5 1A/2A teams 1. South Pitt 2. Dresden 3. Huntingdon 3. Moore Co 5. Riverside
  16. Looking @Southtowner poll of the top teams in 1A and 2A, which is the better class? S. Pitt Huntingdon Moore Co. York Inst. Dresden Marion Co. MASE Smith Union City Riverside Mckenzie Loretto
  17. The person speaking about McKenzie is from Dresden. Mckenzie is fully aware of what Moore Co brings to the table because MC will be favored in the game if it happens. You say McK don't want none, but they won't be the slightest bit intimidated that much I will say.
  18. I think Huntingdon is definitely capable of beating McKenzie, but just to outright say you would definitely beat McKenzie is not a guarantee. Newsflash Mckenzie has improved as well. This statement is made every time you lose to Mckenzie. Some even had the nerve to make the statement last year which was downright delusional. I have a lot respect for Huntingdon's program, but some of the posters on here need to come back down earth a little bit. With that said, I wish Huntingdon the best of luck as I have a lot of lifelong friends from Huntingdon who have kids involved in the athletic programs.
  19. Some of y’all get a little delusional over how good your team actually is . This year there are 5- 6 good teams in 1A/2A in this area that could beat each other on any given Friday night. At this point I would give Dresden a slight edge because they have the most balance on offense.
  20. Thanks for the update It has been a bit since I have got to see them in person due to the long road stint and having to work late on Friday's. I have enjoyed the radio broadcast. Yes you are correct about MC they are good. If we play a clean game I can picture that game going either way cause our QB is pretty darn good as well. However, I understand we don't really need to look that far ahead, a lot work left before we can start discussing that scenario.
  21. Do you think the Rebels have improved where they needed to up to this point? How u think they will fair come playoffs?
  22. How does this year MASE team compare to last year? MASE was really good last year, but unfortunately last year they were on a collision course with Fayetteville / McKenzie. If they are comparable to last year they will have a good chance as well to make it all the way.
  23. I wish PC the best of luck and to future success of their football program.
  24. Single A playoffs are going to be so fun to watch this year. I think there are 5-6 teams that have a shot to win it all. I can't really pick 1 or 2 of these to be the clear cut favorite. Moore Co. was my pick before the season started so I guess I will stick with them since they will have the best difference maker playing on their team.
