Yea west has beat a lot of contenders and good-great teams, some pretty badly. Bearden, Alcoa, Maryville, Farragut just to name a few.

I like Science Hill in this one. Somehow Science Hill has out coached us every game in recent years even when we have a team like we did in 2019 where we should have won by 20+ points. Instead Science Hill beat us 21 to 3 a mere 2 years later despite again not being 18 points better than DB.

The senior class of 2022 was pretty weak in football except for Levi Evans who is now at UT Martin, probably about to get smacked by Big Orange today. I don't know why people try to say this every year about a lot of teams. If anything 2021 was the year to say that for DB, and they still did decent.

DB does a great job at setting up run fits and short "pass" fits-screens, swings, etc. You have to do what Science Hill has done in recent years and get your athletes the ball through the air, which a lot of coaches aren't willing to do a whole lot.

Especially in college ball. These aren't professionals like in the NFL. They're still kids who generally make a lot of mistakes

And unlike Saban he can win without the equivalent of an nfl team getting 25 1st round picks every year.

Maybe will get away with as many recruiting violations as Bama does one day.

DB doesn't overlook anybody. They take every game seriously under the current coaching staff. They've had Oak Ridges' number for years just like Science Hill and Greeneville have had DB's. I'm interested to see how the defense does with the change away from 4-2-5 though.
