Glad to see the right two teams made it to the finals after the theatrics pulled at the district tournament. I hope that BOOT can be worn all summer so she can be sure to be ready for school next year, and that the experience gained by the freshman in the closing quarters of the consulation game will help them in the coming years.

One of the best post I have read on Coach T in years. All fans should put a whistle on and call a game like that and see how they feel about what they called/did not call, and then be able to drive home feeling like they did the best job possible. To be a ref takes a lot bigger person than to be a fan (short for fanatic). Most of you could not handle the crowd, much less the players. Great game with a lot of swings in momentum. That is what tournament basketball is about.

With this alignment, Upperman and Livingston in the 3 and 4 spots, they might sweep through 8AA and be an all 7AA region semis and finals. What a district tournament.

Watertown played better than I have seen this year, but RBS was coming off the BIG win over Clarkrange and was quite flat. Good to see some life out of Aquaville, but RBS was too strong in the end.

I have seen both teams in the Upper Cumberland play this year and I am not impressed. Granted, the teams they were playing, Watertown for JC, and Smith Co and Gordonsville for Upperman. Upperman is a quick team that plays extremely hard, but they lack a presence in the post. JC is down from their past years of dominance, but with the help of going to A, they should still be in the mix at the top. As for the teams in Weakley Co, both are going to have to make the trip to the 'Boro and prove they are the best. Gleason has the benefit of a down district this year, and Westview still has to beat some good teams to prove their record is for real (namely starting tomorrow with Milan). I think there would be nothing better than these four teams to met. I would be there to watch both games. WesCharge, as for the meeting at Toot's, count me in.

WesCharge you confuse me. I mean, are you a fan, a basher, or just trying to stir things up. All you seem to do is talk bad about your teams. I would think a supporter with your knowledge would talk up your team, not say that they are going to get beat by everyone who plays them. Fill me in with your wisdom.

For one thing Gleasondawg, you won't because they have beaten you 4 out of the last 6 times you have played them. I know Gleason is by far winning the last 15+ years of the series, but Dresden is beginning to make some strides to even things up. It had been since 1990 when Dresden had last beaten Gleason until last year under Stephenson. So with that, I know a lot of people who would miss him, but your and your team wouldn't be one of them.

I am beginning to wonder if the fans in Dresden actually want to cheer for a winning team or complain about playing time all because their daughter or friend isn't getting to play. This isn't rec ball where everyone has to play a quarter. This is now win or go home. This isn't about ME ME ME. That is all some people think about. Basketball is a TEAM sport where individuals play TOGETHER. Unlike the NBA, high school basketball isn't a one man show. It isn't "my daughter/friend should play because they played good in the B-game or play because I think she couldn't miss because she is so sweet and she is a junior or senior, and they should play more than the rest of the team because they have been there longer." So what. The coach is in the best position to put the best five players on the floor as certain situations rise. If your daughter/friend isn't on the floor, then I bet she isn't the best one for the spot. That is why the coach stands on the sidelines and you sit in the crowd. If you wanted to be the coach, you should have gone to college, got a degree and then became a coach. If not, then let the coach do the coaching and you do the cheering. That is what you pay to do.

Signs and slogans can do a lot to get a team motived during the year, and especially tournament time. Things people say about them in the paper or by word of mouth. They are also something that the fans use to cheer. Whether you choose to understand it or not, the signs put up by the Dresden fans were something not seen this year until the Gleason game. It was a positive move and encouraging to the players. I hope there will be more fans in the stands cheering for the Lady Lions as they take on the Lady Tide. Which brings up another point. What exactly is a Lady Tide. I mean, I understand bulldogs, yellow jackets, devils, chargers even, but lady tide. Is there such a thing as female water, and if so, there must be male water too. Think about that one. Congratulations to the Greenfield boys for winning a game not very many people thought they could. Good luck against Mitchell, you will need it.

I don't know who was the class act or not. As I sat on the Gleason side and had to listen to the so called "Classy Gleason Fans" scream at the Dresden head coach and be told to shut up or get out by the law. I see that was real classy. As for the signs, they were great. Coming from a town that won state championships, sayings on signs can do a lot for a team making a run towards the state. As for the Dresden crowd, they are getting better. Glad to see people get on their feet and stay there for a change. Go Lions.
