  1. No sir. Not staying at East. But definitely not going to Elizabethton.
  2. May have already been mentioned. Apologies if this is the case. There seems to be a change of plans. The kid is definitely not playing for Betsy next year.
  3. Being reported GQ going to Austin Peay as tight ends coach. https://www.theleafchronicle.com/story/sports/college/apsu/2023/12/12/george-quarles-austin-peay-football-jeff-faris-maryville-tight-ends-coach/71896124007/
  4. To Austin Peay as tight ends coach per article. https://www.theleafchronicle.com/story/sports/college/apsu/2023/12/12/george-quarles-austin-peay-football-jeff-faris-maryville-tight-ends-coach/71896124007/
  5. Rumor that some of my Kingsport friends are running with is that GQ coming to DB. Don’t know how that works with there already being a head coach at the school.
  6. That’s about the best way you could describe our areas approach to football. This explains the woeful approach to s&c off season programs and the short term thinking of hanging your entire season on a cross town rivalry game.
  7. This was a topic around the table this morning. You have the occasional situation like last year where SH made it to the 3rd round but that’s more uncommon than common. Most years it is a mass round 1 exit. It’s troubling and, if football remotely matters, something has to change.
  8. Agree completely. It is a very strange atmosphere to watch a big school play football.
  9. We could not believe the qb was that young when we heard that today. Again, combining a quality system with a super talented young player (and boy is he) makes for positive results. Kid is special. SH just doesn’t have anything close to that. Every year seems like a scramble to replace the contributing seniors. They experiment through the first part of the year and find a workable solution as the year goes. Hopefully the new youth league set up and having two middle schools will help. Still miles from what Region 2 brings to the table. Is the original QB1 going to be ok? We heard he was hurt again after recently returning from an injury.
  10. Maryville is just a quality program. From top to bottom. At this point, the Maryville game is such a psychological hurdle for SH, and probably any team from NET, that they may never need to worry about losing when one of our teams show up on their schedule. That’s not to discount the obvious other advantages (coaching, system, s&c program, etc.). That being said, from the few of us parents/fans who sat through the game tonight, congratulations and good luck the rest of the way MHS.
  11. I don’t know exactly. But I saw them doing some work and tape on both ankle and knee after warmups. Probably a combination of the two. You are right though. Definitely need him back soon.
  12. Watson was hurt Wednesday in practice. He was a game time decision.
  13. What happened to JC’s running backs? Those guys made that offense dangerous and would beat a defense to pieces throughout the game. WR played their back up qb against SH Friday night. He did a really good job managing situations throughout game.
