I'm not as familiar with GP as I am alot of teams. But I'll say this. Look at the difference in Weathers performance vs GP and her performance vs Gibson County. Huge difference. Defense wins championships!!

Can't forget Bradford High School in the 90s and their 3 peat. Couple of Miss Basketballs out of that group too.

I didn't think about that either. Hmmm interesting. There were a couple others in the ship that had lots of turnovers, walks, etc. Seems they only go by points scored. Smh. Oh well. No one will remember years from now who made all tournament but we will always remember who took the gold ball!

I agree AA is too competitive to call this far away. This state tournament was phenomenal Even though most people didn't like the draws. I hope GC is back next year! Not familiar enough with their underclassmen to know if someone can fill Turners spot defensively but I think Riding can pull up offensively big time. Westview and Huntingdon should both be in as well. Just an easier route for WV

I asked someone from GC last night if Wilkins would retire and they said rumor has it that he will stay to see the last Hart girl through. That would put him in his mid 70s. Whew. He is a superior coach. He knew how to use what each girl was best at to maximize it for wins. GC would not win that ball without each girl on that team. Hate #30 wasn't recognized by the state as well. But I'm sure she doesn't care with that Gold Ball in hand. Phenomenal job Gibson County! West TN really showed out this year!!

I said it before they played...depended on whose supporting cast showed up. Hart was held down for the most part but her supporting cast did the dang thing. Will not take anything against beaty. I'm all west tn and I think she's better than Hart, but Gibson county is a second half team and they wanted it more. It will be a battle against Loretto. Wish I could be there but I'll have nfhs tuned in for sure!!

I know everyone has improved since.summer but what was the outcome in summer?? I'm pulling for the west to get by today!

If both teams play like they did yesterday, I'm going with GC. Their supporting cast was on fire. Never know how things will go. I know some people aren't happy with these draws, but it has made for some good basketball

I wonder why GC didn't play mckenzie or huntingdon this season at all. The last 4 or 5 years, they've been playing them. Will make for a more interesting first game I guess.

Mcminn, gp and Loretto for sure. Gc vs huntingdon is a toss up. Huntingdon stronger in post. GC stronger guards. Both coached by a Wilkins. Think Huntingdon beat GC early in the season at a payday or something. It will probably be the best game to to watch!
