  3. thanks jensen. appreciate it and hopefully if both of our teams succeed in playoffs yes indeed i'll have trey trey guardin me.. that'd be a good challenging matchup. good luck to you and the franklin team in playoffs.
  4. Barnes can stuff more people from the side of the crease because of his aggressiveness coming out of the cage. By being able to come out of the cage and position himself he is able to save a lot of slamdunks from the side. However, McConnell is better one on ones because he bates the shooter like no other, whereas Barnes usually comes out to make the hit to prevent the shot in the first place. They both use these techniques but McConnell uses the bating more and Barnes uses the "last slide body check" more. As for who will recieve honors? Both are great goalies but its real hard to compare the two because of the difference of strength in the twos defense. so basically all in all, i didnt answer ur question pleaseballstophere. but i expect to see barnes and mcconnell on first and second team all state. ________________ "How would you play today if you couldn't play tomorrow?"
  5. Game was played...we finished up just before thunderstorms began. Ravenwood won 18-5. Both teams played pretty well. Rhs settled the ball when they needed to and pushed it when they had it. the rhs defensive unit played as a whole and forced a lot of turnovers, helping us capitalize in transition. Centennial attackman Jack Cleary played well and managed to put in 4 for the cougars. Great win for rhs to cap off their regular season and advance to semi's. ________________ "How would you play today if you couldn't play tomorrow?"
  6. Alright so he's a ship, a flooring company, and a lacrosse player, we got that down. How's he affected the lacrosse community? big stick, i'm john wilson and i play for ravenwood. ---------------- "How would you play today if you couldn't play tomorrow."
  7. Good for you, but go to the top goalies forum to talk big about yourself.
  8. Call me crazy but who is parker ellis?
  9. yeah my bad about that.. it came up on me in practice today that limestone was d2. thanks for the correction.
  10. Ravenwood 10 Father Ryan 6 pretty sure thats right. "How would you play today if you couldn't play tomorrow?"
  11. Turk played great defense last night against Ravenwood, kinda slowed down in the 4th but shut me out a couple of previous times. Grapski, wow, has some of the best defensive stick skills that i've ever played against. Does anyone know if these guys are looking to play college ball anywhere?
  12. I agree that Ravenwood should make the jump when they are ready. Not trying to be cocky or anything but its hard to get experience when we play teams that just might have started a year or two ago. But if Ravenwood had been in division one this year it would have guaranteed us games that we would have loved to have played against some other d1 programs, (particularly the big three). However since we weren't in the d1 program we didn't get scheduled a coulple d1 games that we wish we could have played. Hopefully if things go right and we stay healthy and focused, we will look forward to playing division one next springtime.
  13. We (ravenwood) struggled to hold the ball on the offensive side of the field. A lot of MBA's goals came from transitions off of our mistakes. good game for both teams even tho they both looked shaky. shout out to turk, great defense. i gotta get to class now. holla ballas
  14. Two big wins for Gibson and the MUS team. Good to see those numbers against some great teams. Way to put a dent in Lassiter's record. Well deserved.
  15. brentwood v. centennial game? anyone got score
  16. Stats are just numbers. They do not represent the players skills in cage. Sure they do record the number of saves, percentages, etc. I agree with redtwin, save percentages depend on the caliber of the team being faced. For alli know, the west knox goalie could be the next tillman, orr he could have had every shot hit post and been given a save. Let's focus on getting the "W". Back to the forum topic. It's good to hear about possibly another lacrosse program in Tennessee starting up. Does anyone know if this might be a high school or middle school team? great to know more kids are interested.
  17. If it was a home run check on the arm from regression thats understandable. But i watched jensen play a lot of games with the centennial team last year and its unfair to call him a reject. From what i've seen, jensen plays the game skillfully and uses his big frame to his advantage to play physically. Not being there, i cannot comment on your teamates arm injury, but personally, i enjoy waking up the next morning with my triceps being 3 times as big and a bruise to show off to the ladies. thats just the physical aspect of the game.
  18. I was unaware that houston did not play many of their starters. Which ones did not play? I understand that the USN game was the main reason for driving out to nashville because of the division game. but however to say that they "didn't care about ravenwood" is just a bad representation of how houston prepares for each game wether it be a d1 or d2 matchup. And if houston did not play all of their starters against ravenwood...the question would be why?
  19. any thoughts? any outstanding players?
  20. Anyone know how centennial is doing this year after their split up with franklin? Brentwood or Centennial.. whose better?
  21. Centennial goalie, Ryan McConnell, (jr) i believe is the best goaltender in division 2 lacrosse in tn. He made first team all state last year as a sophomore. I had a chance to play with him on a u-16 team this past summer where he showcased his defensive abilities. He's got talent and is a goalie that, potentially, could be playing division 1 college lacrosse in a couple of years. Alex Barnes, (soph) at Ravenwood, is another growing prospect. Along with McConnell, Barnes is another great division 2 goaltender and leader. If they stay healthy and play their game, I can see these two goalies becoming division 2 all state goaltenders. over and out.
