  1. No offense taken We play on the road at Coffee County Tuesday and at home on "Big Khuna Night" (Friday) against Tullahoma. I was very happy to see the Columbia win Friday and if y'all stay healthy, the sky is the limit. Good luck to ya!!! I will be pulling for y'all except for when you play us of course HOOPS TO YA!!!!!!! kw
  2. The end is still a long way off, but this thing gets to be more fun by the minute. We could have had a three way tie for first after the games on Friday, but Lincoln County's win over my Lady Cats now gives us the possibility for a three or four way tie for third at the end of the season. There could be a lot of teams at or right at the six and six mark come tourney time. For this to happen they would all have to split with each other and not upset anyone else but it could come to pass. With this in mind, would someone give me a refresher course on how things are sorted out when you have a tie after the regular season??? I know that head to head would come first but what are the steps after that??? I think I ask this question every year, but you know "it's the mad cow" Go Lady Cat's and Go 8AAA!!!!!!!!!! HOOPS TO YA!!!!!!!!! kw
  3. I have known most of these girls since they were 10 or so and there is not another group that I would rather go into battle with. If this group has got your back then there is never a need to look over your shoulder. I can remember in AAU games you could never tell if we were up or down by 20 because the level of fight and want to in these girls is always out the roof. HOOPS TO YA!!!!!!! kw
  4. At the first of the year, I would not have been in any hurry to get this road trip underway, but these girls have made this a fun season and I can't wait to see how it turns out with Lincoln, Columbia, Coffee and Shelbyville all on the road. Defense and staying out of foul trouble along with a steel clad determination to win has been the answer to this point, and I think in the end it will be the heart that I know these girls have, that pulls them through. Put the blinders on girls, for the race is straight ahead and there is no need to look left or right. I could not be more proud of a bunch no matter the outcome, but I pick Lawrence County in this one. Basketball on a Friday night, what could be better, see ya there!!!!!! HOOPS TO YA!!! kw
  5. How I wish you were right, but in my opinion, the district is down this year. I do think we still have a outside shot at getting two teams to "The Boro", but it will be a challenge. Over all, I think that the district is as balanced as I have seen it before, but that does not translate into being strong from top to bottom. It will have a lot to do with who is healthy at tourney time. Hate to say it, but I think 9AAA has the edge in this part of the state again this year. HOOPS TO YA!!!!!!!!!!!! kw
  6. As long as the doc is ok with this, I just don't want her to try too much too fast and then not be there at tourney time. Y'all take care of that girl, she is special. Good luck at "The Grill" . Can't wait to get back over there myself because they have that good ice for the drinks that is easy to crunch for us old *&^))*&$# that don't have many teeth left HOOPS TO YA!!!!!!!!! kw
  7. No need for a shot clock, but I do think they should think about putting the time line/ hash back and maybe a little deeper toward the basket. Also would love to see the three point shot go away forever. Guess you can tell I don't care a lot for offense and just love the D. Know this will not happen, but I long for the good old days. If school sports are for preparing us to play at the highest level, we should have the refs to quit calling walking, hand checking, lane violations etc...... because that is what I see at the so called highest level. Just opinion of course HOOPS TO YA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! kw
  8. Did Lamp play last night and if so, how did she do??? kw
  9. Shelbyville 59 Tullahoma 27 Columbia 55 Lincoln Co. 42 Franklin Co. 56 Coffee Co. 50 Looks like Lincoln and Coffee have must win games on Friday night while the game of the week will be in Shelbyville. A win by Shelbyville puts them in the drivers seat while a win by Columbia keeps this thing wide open until the end. Good luck to all the 8AAA teams. It's time to "Get down and stay down, Block out and rebound" HOOPS TO YA!!!!!!!!!! kw
  10. If the Lamp is healthy and switched to on, she will light up the place. I like Columbia on Friday. I would like to see that one, but I'll be on the road at Lincoln County. So much basketball, so little time HOOPS TO YA!!!!!!!!!! kw
  11. This is definitely a winnable game for Lawrence County. Really thought we should have won the first match up. No injury or foul trouble and I thinh we win. It will be good to have the Wild Thang back home, but can't pull for them tonight. Tonight will be a good night for basketball and polish sausage so everyone come early and stay late!! HOOPS TO YA!!!!!!!! kw
  12. That is BS Larry. There were I think (8) players that played last night not five. They are a team, but there is nothing wrong with mentioning particular players. But you know, I have heard your kind of logic before. Just keep looking around corners for the boogy man and sooner or later you will find something you can cause trouble with. Seek and you shall find!!!!!!!!!!! HOOPS TO YA ANYWAY!!!!!!!! kw
  13. Thought we should bump this back up to the top since we are half way home and things are starting to shake out. So, if you have not voted in this poll, here is your chance. HOOPS TO YA!!!!!!!!!!!! kw
  14. Can anyone say "Down Town" ??? You go Huggy!!! Stay healthy and make the nets sizzle!!!!!! HOOPS TO YA!!!!!!!! kw
  15. Something keeps coming to my mind. A post I made on November the 29th. And I quote. "I will say this, any team that overlooks us will have only themselves to blame for the big (L) on their schedule. A thin hungry cat is a dangerous animal." That is the same post in which I said if all went well, we could finish higher than 5th place. Well as of tonight those girls are in 2nd place in the district. I know there is a lot of basketball left, but I just love it when they show me to be the fool I am!!! Play on girls play on!!! Go L.C.H.S!!!! HOOPS TO YA!!!!!! kw
  16. Another thread <*((7^$% . Better make it another board somewhere like Tibet Good Luck!!!!!! and HOOPS TO YA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! kw
  17. I hope to get a hug from Jane and Carol so maybe I can get a hug from you also I just miss everyone so <*^%# bad and wish things were different. HOOPS TO YA!!!!!!!! kw
  18. I don't mind acting the part of the fool now and then, bur come on Dr. Banjo Have fun. it's what these forums are for, but don't expect people to think your intentions are as pure as the driven snow!!! Just ain't none of us that clean Wish y'all the best the rest of the season AND .................... HOOPS TO YA!!!!!!!!!! kw
  19. I want to understand, but I don't??? Can you give me a couple of examples where the girls that left are getting more support from Lawrence County fans than the girls that stayed??? I myself have written about how these girls will be and are missed, but to give them more support than my team??? I don't think so!!! So give me some examples so I can understand and if it is something that I have said or done to make you think I support one girl over another then I am ready to apologize at any time. Again, I support and love them all but my team is L.C.H.S. HOOPS TO YA!!!!!!! kw
  20. Well, that almost did it for me. I had two pages written before I came to my senses and realized it is not in the best interest of the program or school to let it all hang out. Laundry usually ain't a pretty site even when it's clean. I will say this much: (1) My girl quit. (2) I love my girl more than any team, program or sport. (3) I support the girls that stayed and the girls that left, especially the ones I have had the pleasure to watch grow up and mature on and off the court. (4) As much as I might care for the girls that are no longer with us, my team is Lawrence County and that is where I will be tonight as always............... loud and proud!!!!!!!!!! (5) The book comes later HOOPS TO YA!!!!!!!!!!!! kw
  21. For every year you wait past 10 the child will be a exta two years behind the ones that did not wait to commit. While I like the idea of letting the child pick which sport they want, a parent should help them focus on that sport from that point on. If you wait until middle school to decide you want to play a sport, the child very well may not make the team and then who is happy????? HOOPS TO YA!!!!!! kw
  22. Let's see, I picked Shelbyville by 18 ???? Guess that shows just how much I know!!! Now if Lincoln County is gonna play like this the district is gonna be a lot more fun!!! Congrats to L.C. Play on and good luck. HOOPS TO YA!!!!!! kw
  23. I don't think we disagree as much as you think. I think a student should be able to play as many sports as they want. I think it should be against TSSAA rules for a coach to have authority to keep a student from playing as many sports as they would like and they should also be prevented from punishing a player for having conflicts with practice etc.. I also know and agree that there are instances of people that could play and master multiple sports. We agree on all of this I think??? Now for where we most likely part ways. Yes it is possible to be really good at more than one sport in high school and get scholarships in multiple sports but not likely. I mean, there are instances such as what you mentioned, but for everyone of those gifted athletes you mentioned there are hundreds and thousands of athletes that must center on one sport to get to the next level. You hear a commentator from time to time mention a particular athlete that was recruited by colleges in more than one sport, but that is why they mention it, it is unusual. I put the smiles in my previous post because everyone knows that I think basketball is king and I really would not miss the other sports if they vanished. I really do think the dead period and open gym rules are a joke and should be done away with. Dead period should be a different time of year for different sports and the open gym thing is just not enforced at all. One last thing, I don't know a lot of college coaches but for the high school coaches I know, while they may allow their players to particpate in other sports, it really irks them when it conflicts with the one they are coaching. It is not that often I post something knowing that it is going to get a rise out of people but I might start doing it more often. It's kinda fun!!!! HOOPS TO YA!!!!!!!!!!! kw
  24. If you are doing what you love, what could be more fun. Want to play at the next level??? Start early and stay with it. HOOPS TO YA!!! kw
  25. Sure hope that is not true about Armstrong and hope maybe it is something less serious. I think Shelbyville by 18. HOOPS TO YA!!!!!! kw
