I was unaware that public high schools were that advanced. How cool it must be to play in such a high tech atmosphere. Maybe we chould break this category into 2 sub cats.............Best modern gym/best old school gym.

I would have to go with Summertown. If you have never been there let me try to describe it. They have real oak bleachers on both sides and at one end. They have what i call the "Eagles nest", which is a press box high in the corner on the home side. It is considered 2 stories. The bottom floor is an office and up a very small flight of stairs is the "nest". With glass windows that slide open for a better view. This is also where the spot light comes from during the home team's 5 starters announcement. (All the lights in the gym go off and the spot light is shown). THis is also the time that cell phones and glowsticks are flashed. It really is a brilliant light show. On the ceiling of the gym they have several oak arches that run from the home side to the visiting side. THey have one of the smallest gyms in the state, but in my opinion it has the old school charm. And it is my pick for BEST LOOKING GYM!

The Christmas Classic tournament will be held in Summertown next week. I will get a copy of the schedule and try to post it tomorrow.

What makes you think that Summertown can not get up and down the floor?

They play Friday night @ Richland.

Summertown is one of the best 3 point teams in the region. But sometimes you can depend to much on the outside shot. When you are hot and all the shots are falling in GREAT!, but too many times S'town would rather go for the outside shot even when they have a guy open right under the basket.

He taught at Summertown from Jan 05-May 05. Before that he taught and coached at Lawrence County High School. Before that he i think he was at Wayne County.

Summertown played a scrimmage game Saturday against Franklin Road Academy. They played 6 independent quarters. S'town won 4 quarters, tied 1 and lost 1. They looked very good! In reference to Wesley Huddleston............Mr Huddleston now teaches at Eagleville and coaches football. His children transferred to eagleville in August and returned to SHS in September. He and his family live in S'town and he commutes to Eaglevlle everyday. I heard that he will stay on in Eagleville until something closer to home opens up.

Any plans in the future to include middle school schedules and rosters? I like to attend the middle school events because they are less crowded.

Lawrenceburg beats Virginia 14-2!!. Tennessee plays again tonight (Monday 8-1) at 8 vs Georgia. Did anyone happen to catch the opening ceremonies last Thursday?

If you happen to go watch Lawrenceburg play this week and you see all the boys with the #5 on their arm you might what to stop them and ask them why.
