Hampton by at least 20 over Jellicho! Big Blue just keeps on rollin!! Elizabethton by 3 over Johnson County. (if Carr's ankle's ok) Happy Valley over West Greene by 10. Grace Christian over Unaka by 6. (Unaka has no offense) Cloudland over Cosby. May be close but I think Cloudland should win.

The Big Blues look pretty good so far. I know it's early but they were impressive in the passing league and with Lunceford, Milhorn and "the Beast" Andrews (just like his daddy), I think the conference is theirs to lose. Any thoughts?

Great win for the Hampton Lady Bulldogs over Unaka tonight. I think Leon Tolley has shown what a great coach he is. Go Blue!!

1. Elizabethton 2. Cloudland 3. Unicoi 4. Happy Valley 5. Hampton 6. Unaka 7. Johnson County What's up with all the "co's"? Elizabethton got beat by a very good Greeneville team who would probably do the same to all the rest of these teams. Cloudland could probably give Greeneville a good game because of team speed. Unicoi is overrated this year. If Unaka didn't have the transfer player, Scott, they would be lucky to even make the list.

Maybe you should apply for the job. Surely Unaka can find somebody else to do the books!

Cloudland and Hampton have a better chance of going to state than Unaka does!

I agree with RangerBook. Even with the loss of key players due to graduation, the Lady Landers should win their conference this year. Unaka is very young and with or without Sallie Taylor, they will struggle this year. And by the way, Sallie, I hope you have a quick and full recovery.

Does anybody know Washburns record? I heard they hadn't won a game this year and i cant find their win/loss record anywhere. Dont want to waste the gas or time if its not going to be much of a game.

It sounds like you are the only negative post on this one - don't and try and get something started. Both teams played great and with heart. My opinion is that the reason other teams pull against Unicoi is because a lot of the other teams interact with each other off of the field not just on and they support their friends. A lot of them play together in the summer and hang out together and Unicoi kind of stays to themselves. Or....it could a Grady, Steve Spurrier kind of thing! I guess that's a compliment?? One thing about it, I agree with what all these people have been saying about the Watauga Conference. It's the toughest I've ever seen it. But what would I know, I'm just a farmer.

Noticed on an earlier post that Unaka had won both games against Crockett but on Coach T's schedules, both Unaka and Crockett show it as a tie 0-0? What's the deal?

I think it's still a little early to be predicting who will be the top team in the area. Scrimmages are just that and don't really mean anything because coaches are trying kids at different positions and letting a lot of underclassman play. Cloudland is improving but still has a long way to go. Hampton has also improved a lot this year. I know Elizabethton was minus 3 girls Friday and one of their main pitchers and hitters was sick on Saturday. Unaka looks weak as far as their bats go but they play good D. Their shortstop is for sure their strongest player. Johnson County has a great pitcher in Nelson and the freshman from Unaka threw the ball as well as anybody I saw in the tournament. I know this is Carter County top 5 but Unicoi is the only team I see in this area that will advance to the State level. Give me a week or so and then I will give you my predictions! Congratulations Lady Landers on another impressive win. In my opinion, this should move the Landers to the 1A spot instead of the 1B spot. 1a. Cloudland 1b. Elizabethton Only because of the point margin in victories over conference opponents. GO LANDERS!! THIS IS YOUR YEAR!!

#12, I agree with your post 100%. Softball does seem to be growing tremendously in the area. We're just a few seasons away from all the conferences being more competitive. March 13th is approaching fast and I can't wait. Good luck to all the girls in the area.
