  1. That's a question you need to ask the principal and AD at Halls. It's crazy that he wasn't.
  2. Never was offered to him. Know that for a fact.
  3. May be a little hazy, but I guess it will clear up.
  4. I'm with you!! Ron Gray is one heck of a football coach and a better man!!! He would be a great choice for Halls. I've known him for a long time and whoever this is bad mouthing him in the earlier post has no idea about him.
  5. You guys need to hire William Barham. It would be a great fit for there. Call him up, I am sure he would love to get back to middle TN.
  6. I am wrong about the 2-3 year thing. Talked to a buddy and he said GR wanted to work 7 more years. I thought he was older than he is. Sorry about that. RG has not turned down every good job in the state and I talk to him all the time and he has never said that to me. I just don't see him saying that, and I doubt that you talk to him that much so how would you know.
  7. claw(low)ball, To not to have anymore to say, you sure have said waaayyyyy too much about stuff that you have NO clue about, so you need to shut it! Ron Gray is one of the best coaches and people that I have ever had the pleasure to call my friend. He should have his chance to be a head coach whereever it is. He is definitely a guy that I would want coaching my son. If KC chooses Rankin, so be it. They maybe looking for a coach again in 2-3 years, but that's choices that the admin has to make.
  8. I agree with you guys about Ron Gray. He would be an excellent choice. Sad to me that he is not being considered for the job, which will be a mistake on KC's part. He deserves his chance, but these days it seems loyalty to people and schools means nothing. It was really sad to me when Oak Ridge didn't give him the job last time it was open. He deserved that job too, but the AD was gutless like he usually is. As OR supporters do you guys feel he should have gotten the OR job?
  9. Here's story http://news.mywebpal.com/news_tool_v2.cfm?...=19667&on=1
  10. The point I was trying to prove is that the number of Championship rings does not qualify the person to be the best coach for a situation. Ron is the best coach for the situation at OR. I've known a lot of great coaches that can do great jobs for schools, and they don't have a single championship ring. I am sure there are other people that can fix OR. But I still believe that Ron is the best choice. I know one of the other applicants as well, and I would not choose him over Ron. So, maybe I don't have tunnel vision as bad as you think I do.
  11. I know for a fact that Ron Gray is what Oak Ridge football needs. You can try and bring in a coach that has 10 state championships, and he couldn't get the job done. Ron knows OR football and knows what it needs to be "fixed" after Stanton almost destroyed the program. I know a bunch of you on here will not like this statement, but it is the truth. You guys that say you know Ron and what type of person he is and all the bs you guys come up with truly amazes me. I've known the guy for almost twenty years and have never heard any of the things that you say about him from anybody else. Ron is for the kids in his programs first!!! He is definitely a guy that I would want my son to play for. Come on Mull!!! You're all........ Just kidding. Make the right move for the program.
  12. Please beat the Wildcats!!!! I can't wait for them to lose another game and watch the OR "Faithful" pounch on the coaches. The knives for stabbing are already in the "Faithful's" hands, they are just waiting to stab!! It will happen - NO DOUBT!! And we will all have fun laughing.
  13. Got out coached by the Owls. Come on OR Fans I know that you back stabbers are ready to pounce on your coach. Here kitty, kitty, kitty!!! I taught I saw a puttytat!!!
  14. No, I mean when yall will turn against this coaching staff - when they lose their first game? or maybe when they run a play that you don't agree with? or when they don't play the "right" kid b/c of who he is related to? I know that yall will turn against them - because that is in a rat's best interest. I will get a good laugh then.
  15. yes he does ratpack. when will the ratpack turn??????
  16. I wish Coach Gray the best of luck. He definitely deserves a lot better treatment than what some of the "fans" of Oak Ridge have given him. He has done a fantastic job there. Somebody will get a great football coach. Good luck Coach Gray. thumb

    OR Assistant

Beagle, Did you call a great game? Oh, I forgot you don't call a game. You stand on the bank and tell everybody what a great game you could call IF you were a coach, but you are NOT!! So you don't know what it takes to call a great game. I agree Captain, Ron Gray would make a great head coach for someone, Blount Co. or anywhere else.
  18. Congratulations to OR - all its players, coaches and fans for beating DB. OR coaches have done a great job this year. Hope that yall go on and win the State Championship. Good luck.
  19. ratwatch, i have a pretty good idea about you!
  20. I agree reff. Coaches get there players in the right system for to fit their players at the time. As a coach, you can't say that you will always be an I-formation team or a spread offense. You have to adapt your system to your players.
  21. I wasn't trying to scare you rat. I was just stating a fact that you don't know as much as you think you do. You seem to be such an expert on coaching, I was just wondering why don't you coach? Because you do such a wonderful job from the stands or the hill or where ever you are during a game. NOT!!!!!!!!! [Edited by mcgaman on 3-21-03 8:07A]
  22. i sure hope that he does too for the simple reason that he deserves to be a head coach, and who would want to be around the RATPACK that you are associated with? you people come on here and try to look real tough and so full of football knowledge, but all you do is make yourselves look like the RATS that you really are. if you are so great and know so much about coaching, RATWATCH, then why don't you coach? huh? I'll tell you why, b/c you don't know as much as you think you do!!!!!!
  23. West Laurens High School. It is in the same county. I don't know if he has applied, but that is the only school looking for a head coach now in the county. East Laurens just filled their head job vacancy a few weeks ago. The wing-t has become very popular in Georgia over the past 10 years. He was successful b/c he has some of the best athletes in the area. He did a good job of molding that talent to fit his system, but that is what all good coaches do.
