  1. All of the coaches named are great coaches. They will continue to succeed because of their work ethic and integrities. But, I do feel that there are some coaches that were not mentioned that are just as good as any of the aforementioned coaches if not better: Mark Pemberton - Knox Catholic Ron Adeylot - Riverdale Jimmy Maynord - Smith County Jerry Joslin - Cookeville Gary Sheppard - Used to be at Knox Halls David Meske - Knox Webb David Martin - Don't know if he is still coaching at DCA or not. Glen McAdams - David Lispscomb Jackie Kelley - Westmoreland Dewayne Alexander - Cumberland Univ. (Former Wilson Central) These coaches will fall in the top of the mix. Their resume speaks for itself. I also agree with: Gary Rankin Clint Satterfield
  2. Yes, the hudson kid will hurt them. IMO, he was their best defensive player. He had a nose for the ball. And replacing Dallas will be hard to do. Players with his speed only come around every once in a while in small football counties like Macon. I am sure they will be decent, every bit as good as last year. But, I don't see them being able to replace either of the two.
  3. Not that I have to backup Antwan or anything, because Antwan will deal with your reply when he reads your post. Just to let you know though, I wouldn't doubt what Antwan knows about DL. He is a buff when it comes to digging up information. Now, what exactly are you wanting to "BOOK?" That DL wins? If so, YOU GOT ACTION!!!! Now, Mustang fan or not, you must be out of your mind if you think DL is going to roll over this bunch of kids from Overton County. They have seen this kind of program all year. Those "white collar" football programs with an attitude that they are going to beat a bunch of rednecks from the sticks. Well, they are about to get a rude awakening. And their is nothing that the great coach that he is, McAdams can do about it. There is alot of great coaches that have played LA this year that have coached their kids well to get them in the right place to make a play, BUT, they are still going to have to tackle Wilson Cates when they get there, and it is funny to see the coach on the other sideline swallow his tongue when Wilson Cates makes his plays. He wants to yell at his player(s) for not making the tackle, but deep down he is in awww.
  4. Someone told me that they looked some of this up and Riverdale only allowed 56 points in fifteen games in 1994. That is an average of less than 4 points a game. Does anyone know if this is true. Sounds pretty good. Didn't hear who has scored the most.
  5. I think this game will be alot closer than what everyone thinks it is going to be.
  6. Let's go Warriors, let's keep playing hard and who knows what might happen!!!
  7. I don't have no dog in this fight, but I just thought I would say that Upperman was the real deal in 96. The tailback, fullback, and quarterback were all jam up.
  8. I had Smith County listed as a top 10 in 2A over the state of Tennessee before the season started. I kind of expected a loss to Knox Catholic and quite possibly a loss to Trousdale County, but that turned out to be worse than I had anticipated. Then a narrow margin of victory at York had me wondering. I know the team lost like 20 seniors, but I thought they were suppose to be pretty tough again. Is the talent down a little or is there something else going on. I have known a couple of the coaches in that program for a long time. It is hard for me to believe that those kids aren't prepared. I haven't seen the owls play this year, but I am planning on coming to the game this week vs. Macon County. Does anyone have an opinion on this topic?
  9. IMO, here is five of the ten, in no certain order. Let's hear your best coaches and coaching staffs Riverdale - Gary Rankin and company. Yes, they are an inner city school with tradition that does bring them some good transfers. But, the coaches still have to get the best out of them. Pretty darn consistant about doing that. Hillsboro - Ron Adeylott and staff are really doing a great job at Hillsboro. A deep run into the playoffs is a big possibility every year. White House - Head Coach Jeff Porter is a class act who wins ballgames. No matter what class or region they compete in, look for White House to be a threat. Cookeville - Jerry Joslin has gone to Putnam County and turned around what has been an nonexistant football program for years. Look for this continue for years to come as long as he and his staff are there.
  10. Yeah, I am a firm believer that a quarterback must have all of the aforementioned traits above. When you reply to this topic, you need to take all those things in consideration, and if a qb lacks in one of those areas, he must be able to make up for it in another area.
