  1. A coach who consistently does not perform as expected is replaced, not tolerated. A player who consistently does not perform is benched, or removed from the team. Bearclaw that may happen in most places, but you know that it will not happen in Grainger County. Coachs can under preform and blame it on the kids and will stay as long as they want the job!!!!! They can even break civil laws over and over again and they can keep???Being put Back???INTO the same coaching postion. So you might want ease up on the Referring???Until Grainger get it`s Own???house in order.
  2. No she did not graduate,I Think she will be a Junior this year.
  3. I will Check with Robpride maybe her mother has contacted him to let him know about her condition. You post all the time about her so I figure you had ties to her family and could tell us about her. My bad I am sure Rob will know.
  4. That is two big games left for Pigeon Forge But I know Coach Johnson will have her team ready to play. I would think it would be an Upset if they lost either game but upsets do happen. 6. Miss Acuff has had a medical condition come up (unrelated to Basketball)and it is being told that she may be done for the rest of the regular season. I wish well and hope she has a speedy recovery. Well if the Rutledge vs South Greene Game is any indication Coachh17 may be correct about Region 1. The way South Greene out played Rutledge in every aspect of the game tonight , if the rest of them teams on Region 1 play that way, only Pigeon Forge with Coach Johnson at the helm may have a chance of winning a regional game when the time comes for Region 2 to play them. Congratulations to South Greene on a well played game tonight ./thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> All the hard work they put in over the summer at camps and the preseason is paying off for them!!!

  10. I hope she is OK. It almost seams like Morristown West is Snake Bit with the Injury bug. They have had allot of knee problems in the last few Years. I hope for her sake that it is sprain and not a tare she is a great athlete and I am sure that Track team and Ladies Basketball team will miss her if she can not compete.
  11. Great Post The Coach. I have my opinion no one has to agree with me but that's the way I feel.(Eliteball) As far as the meeting if I had been invited to attend I most likely would have. I am not in the habit of crashing meetings witout a invitation. I find it hard to understand why the change. Why is AAU having SRT's so more teams will be involed not in D2 but D1 nationals. If the concern is level of play at the National level why wouldn"t AAU at the National level stop SRT's completely and only then let the State champs get a bid to D1 National. Isn't that the way it use to be. Maybe someone should suggest this to Eddie Clinton that way if it is a problem he can get with board and have the rule changes made to correct this. And maybe Eddie can get the rules changed about passing down bids at SRT's as well that way on the select few teams across the nation can compete for the national championship. I wonder why that rule was put in place to pass down bids at SRT's Hym could it be the AAU wants more teams at the D1 national tournament. Shouldn't they be concerned about teams getting beaten badly and narrow the fields to only the very top 1 or 2 teams from each state I just wonder were the money will come from when more teams quit playing AAU because of rule changes like these. Maybe the big clubs have already thought about this and have sponsorships line up to fill the vaccum. (Eliteball) We all know about D2 and I believe the rules allow a team to try any way they can get a D1 bid and if they can not then they can play D2. And why was D2 added to get more teams playing was it not. And you are to be commend for having that many teams and finding that may coaches but one and two team clubs should not be shut out. By playing in a SRT before state and then coming to the state tournament and finishing in the top 2 the get two bids and thus take away another state teams chance to qualify. I have an Idea! Maybe we can have the Sub State and state real early in the year before any SRT's are held in the state. That would fix it! Then if a team qualify's in the state for the Natinals and then wins a SRT by national rule the bid would be passed down to next team without a bid and everyone could be happy and no bids would lost in Tennessee by one team having multitable bids. What Great Idea what you think Eliteball, trottercoach and Robpride
  12. I find it interesting how some clubs are concerned that some Tennessee teams are getting beat badly at Nationals. It is not their clubs but they are concerned how it looks. They are not concerned that teams from other states are getting beat badly just Tennessee. So they say the way to fix this is take way the opportunity for some teams Tennessee to go to Nationals. I read post on hear all the time (we are only in this to give the kids an opportunity to be seen) but which kids a small few that play for elite clubs or just ones that a certain few that control Tennessee AAU think are good enough? You may find it hard to believe but for some kids just getting to National is major accomplishment. They have no illusion that they will win the tournament. But you know that’s the thing about being young if you have a chance there is always hope you just might play well enough to win. The hope that you will out play that team today. To you that voted to trim the field from Tennessee I hope you are happy with your decision. You just crushed some young girls dream! You have taken a way that Dream. Believe it or not that may have been their only chance to shine on big stage and with your vote you have taken it from them. Some kids will not get to play on the college stage and the AAU Nationals is as close as they will get. (Correction could have been as close as they could have gotten that chance has been taken away) My last question to you is if it’s not your team that is loosing badly why you are worried about it. If you team is finishing in the top why are you concerned about other teams. Oh I get it! It looks bad on the state. Right, we have to worry about how it looks. We sure do not want any Tennessee team to look bad. After all that is what AAU is about looks, not the opportunity to compete? Just some food for thought From AAU Web Site Mission Statement To offer amateur sports programs through a volunteer base for all people to have the physical, mental, and moral development of amateur athletes and to promote good sportsmanship and good citizenship. Vision Statement To offer amateur athletes and volunteers opportunities to develop to their highest level through a national and local network of sporting events. Through participation in AAU, we achieve our dreams as athletes and as valued citizens of our communities. I will get off my soap box now I am done!
  13. Ann Was a class act. I had the pleasure of setting and talking with here for about an hour at a State Tournament a couple years ago. She was a very classy Lady and will be missed.
  14. Mathew Smith and Will Jarnagin from Rutledge High are both hitting the ball really well. Mathew has already carded a 64 in a eighteen hole tournament this year. Will is playing very well. I look for big things from both before the year is over. Both are seniors this year.
  15. At Rutledge High School we do not have to worry about summer camps. Our coach is Old school. 20 year ago when he first started coaching teams did not go to team camps so why should we go now. Our girls have not been to any camps in the last two years.
  16. 1, Carter 2. Seymour 3. Pigeon Fiorge 4. Clayborne 5. Rutledge Rutledge will be lucky to go 5-5 for the year.
  17. I can see your points on why it should be moved, but I do not think T$$AA will because of baseball being played in the spring and they want softball to stay with that sport and they will not want to do any thing that might take away for there Money machine Football. I can see where it can only help the girls by coming out of summer ball and with that in mind the T$$AA will not do it.
  18. Random question - If Powell had beaten Oak Ridge and earned the right to host, could they have hosted at their home gym? I know that was not the case in 04 and 05. I ask, because the Powell boys won tonight, so I was curious if they would get to host a sub-state game at their home gym. Great Question RR I was think the same thing. I wonder if T$$AA is making some Teams that won their Regions move the sub-state games from their home gyms this year?
  19. Schultz at Oliver Springs is a Junior. The Freshman that plays for Oliver Springs is Wesly Rather. I think someone has made a mistake.
  20. Looks Like the Washburn Girls season ended tonight. By looking at the score I have to think Erin did not play tonight because of her injury. Great season Girls we sure are proud of you. You have something to work for next year. Work hard this summer!!!!!
