  1. In my opinion a school with "class" doesn't really care who they play on homecoming. I am sorry that "some" of the Springfield players or fans (which ever you represent) feel it is OK to want to "embarrass" anyone ever! And trust me as one of the parents of one of those "crazy" Greenbrier players, I am NEVER embarrassed over my son's performance in a "game." However, I would be embarrassed if he got on here and even came close to writing a post like this one. Shame on you! Every week this Greenbrier team just gets better and better. The last game against Goodpasture was just great. I mean they only went down by what, 6 points? So, once again in my opinion, I don't think Springfield should "expect" to walk in and walk out with a 30 point win! Go Bobcats!
  2. I really enjoyed the game! Was disappointed in some things that happened with fans, such as the boy that threw the ball on the court when Greenbrier was driving and things being yelled that I feel is totally uncalled for regardless of who is yelling it. But the game itself was great. As I keep saying, Greenbrier is right there, so very close! I think everyone did a great job. And I thought Logan played well, the words "not great" would have never entered my mind. Go Bobcats!
  3. I don't think I would say by 20 or 25, if at all. I think the Bobcats can win in their own house. Go Bobcats!!
  4. Greenbrier will be praying as well!
  5. Since I am a "learning to love" basketball Mom. I will tell you that I enjoyed last nights game. I thought it was an interesting and stay awake game. Within the first few minutes I told my husband and son that Portland had greatly improved from the last meeting between these two teams. They should be proud of it. Was VERY happy to see Logan dunk! It was a nice one and he seemed very pumped and excited after that. Keep up the good work Logan. The rest of the team did a good job as well, gonna keep on yelling and supporting you guys! Go Bobcats!
  6. Very well put! And our family DOES believe in the Greenbrier Bobcats! I have been careful as to not hurt feelings (because I am that type of person) but I do want to say Logan, Lance and Brooks are great guys and could do a lot for this team if given the chance. Like you said Kurt & Tyler have next year and can possibly do more as well if given the chance. Just keep trying and KNOW some people may not say things they are thinking because they don't want to stir the pot called "trouble" but it doesn't mean they don't know what is going on Go Bobcats!
  7. Thanks, I think he is GREAT! I understand exactly what you are saying and may even agree with some of the things that you stated, just refuse to discuss them on a board. However, he has to do what the coach wants or he sits, it's that simple. If he were to show his leadership abilities I would HATE to see what happened! As far as what people or so-called "fans" think and say about him, we really pay it no mind. That is why we stay to ourselves as much as possible. But once again thanks for supporting and seeing that he is a talented young man and he will go far in life!
  8. Ouchie that hurts! I LOVE Logan and he knows I do but to put him as Greenbrier's only hope is harsh! But I am a Mom and think differently than most I guess. Unless it is single player sport, I believe the "team" is the complete hope! Go Bobcats!
  9. Keep trying Greenbrier! We are behind you! You keep coming so very close! I BELIEVE in the team I really do!! Combine what Coach Edison, each other and your own hearts tell you and you should be fine! Go Bobcats!
  10. HL - both my boys (6'4 275 and 6'1 180) love corn. Yes, there ya go I said it, corn! Now, don't go telling people cause I don't want the word out in your area and all ya'lls guys getting big like that but I thought I would let you and only you know, OK. Sorry, I couldn't help it but I do have people asking about their size all the time and I love to just say corn. No reason, just for kicks and giggles. Have a great day!
  11. timbdp for the most part Greenbrier players (and fans) are staying silent on these threads. (My son backed off these threads last year when things started heating up for football and some took things far too serious on these silly threads.) You do however have a couple of us that like to run our mouths about games and don't take things too serious. And I am going to say Greenbrier over White House! Hey, would you really expect me to go against my son and the great guys of Greenbrier?
  12. For my part in this thread, I will set what I was saying clear: The adults act like adults and the children act like children, that is MOST of the time ANYWHERE I go. My MAIN comment was referring to the players of Sycamore, I know they say and do things on the court same as any other team but from what I see they have good sportsmanship and that is what I was referring to! This had nothing to do with "FANS." Fans need to lighten up some and not take offense to every little thing that is said or done because MOST of the time unless stated it isn't even about you. My comments were for the TEAM, except for the little "excuse" jab which was done with a sense of humor. If I had anything to say about your student section I would have put it on one of the many other threads such as "The Crunkest" and I choose not to even touch that subject! Play tough Greenbrier and once again congrats to Sycamore!
  13. ...I REALLY hope you're being sarcastic with this post. It would make alot more sense that way. (the players have pretty good sportsmanship I think but once you get past the players...I'm not so sure) You know me and I think you KNOW how I meant this, lol...
  14. Congrats to Sycamore on a great team! *I do however hope to NEVER see an excuse on here from any fan or player if/when they hit a rough patch because as it was basically just said, there should never be any excuses.* Sportsmanship is a WONDERFUL thing and I am glad the Sycamore players have it! Best wishes to ya'll throughout the rest of the year!
  15. Just wanted to say Good Job guys, keep up the good work! Was glad to see some of the younger ones play too! Go Bobcats
  16. Enjoyed it all three nights! Keep up the good work Bobcats!!!
  17. When I spoke with Ricky's sister the other day she told me she thought he was going to attend Western KY. She wasn't sure but that was the last she had heard.
  18. You guys are improving more and more. It is good to see you pulling together as a team. It is hard to have a team made up of different classmen but I think you guys are finding it and it looks good. The more you practice, bond and trust the better you will get! I am looking forward to a good year!
  19. Good job Ricky - I hope you succeed at everything you decide to do in life!
  20. It crossed my mind as odd last Thursday when we were told where the Greenbrier fans were sitting at Sycamore but then I didn't think too much more about it...I guess you learn something new everyday.
  21. You did us PROUD here in middle TN! We in Greenbrier have a great respect for you guys! The Lynch household were pulling hard for you. My son Tyler(#4) just told me to throw a "way to go for a good season" in on this post for him! See ya'll next year!
  22. Good Luck to White House I hope that the team can pull off a win. Being from Greenbrier I will not (understandably) make the trip to Chattanooga (too far) but I will cheer for you as well as our other neighbors Jo Byrns that I will attend since they are just up the road, lol. Anyway as I stated in the beginning Good Luck
  23. I would rather you not kick the snot outta my son thank you very much! Oh wait, maybe yes I do want you to, will save on the allegra And hopefully in the process of snot knocking, our boys can knock some of the Devils eyes cockeyed *LOL* Can't wait for the game, ya'll be careful on your way over - watch out for deer, they are aggressive you know! Go Bobcats!
  24. OMGoodness there is so much fun stuff going on in this thread I could take all day responding! But I suppose I should work and not play on here, oh wait, I can play on here my supervisor let's me! I want to start with: GOOD LUCK Ricky, I hope you can pull off the Mr. Football award! I know that you come from good people. I met your Mom and sister when they came to my work (where I play on here a lot) they were really nice people. (Look at me typing this like Ricky is REALLY going to see it, lol) 23 yrs - The "we beat you 23 yrs in a roll thingy" where does that fall in with Greenbrier winning the first 22 yrs? Doesn't count, or did Greenbrier throw it in White House's face for a while after White House took it over, just wondering? I mean when do ya'll get to drop the we beat you 23 yrs, just curious? Plants - I was born at Jesse Holman Jones Hospital in Springfield, brought home to Greenbrier but then moved to Ridgetop, then moved to New Hampshire, then moved back to Greenbrier, then moved to Millersville, then moved to White House, then to Ohio, then back to Greenbrier (let me rest a sec) then got married and moved to East Nashville then to Ashland City, then back to Greenbrier (resting again) then I moved to New Hall Road which is still part of Greenbrier but is on the White House side and finally 4 months ago we bought a house BACK IN GREENBRIER where I plan to spend the rest of my days, so I guess I am asking, what the heck am I? A homey that is trying to recover from being planted other places? Putting children down - A lot of people do this and it is our job as parents to let the children know that there are people in this world that will always put others down. Tell them not to take things personal! Things have come back to me and my children a lot of times over how they are, the things they "supposedly" said or did or whatever, I tell them to shake it off and go on with their life because they are "loved" by the ones that it really matters anyway! If my child doesn't play a game or make a TD or stop a TD or sack the QB (something I love to see) his life is going to go on anyway whether John Doe thinks he should have done SO MUCH better or get him off the field. (this is fun, are ya'll really reading all this?) Coacht threads & trash talk - I did (not anymore) let my son come on here and type and such because he loves it so much. He is like me, he doesn't take any of this serious and he "surely" doesn't let anything like a few words from a web site get in his head. We both see this as a fun thing and even though some may disagree, for the most part I think that is how all the adults on here see it. WOW, I have typed a lot that no one really cares to read about but I had fun doing it! May God watch over all teams tonight and throw a special blessing down on Greenbrier! That wasn't meant to offend anyone just asking for a couple fumbles from White House! Hey, lighten up God has a wonderful sense of humor!
  25. Very nice post. A "star" is nice to have no doubt about it but a "team" is so much more important! I have told my son repeatedly when I see Greenbrier take the field, I see 11 players! A "star" cannot do his job unless he has the rest of the team behind him. And players can have bad nights and when they do it is the coaches job to rework and put in different players. In Greenbrier we are fortunate that they can do this with their players, the coaches have them ready when needed. I am sure White House does this as well. I feel like credit is due to both teams, coaches and fans! Good Luck to both teams but of course I want Greenbrier to WIN!
