  1. I don't understand your point. GP apparently got down 19-0 vs. CPA and came back in that game. CPA is garbage. What is your point?
  2. Fulton 48 DL 14 Fulton will dominate these guys. This is going to be one of the most lopsided games of the weekend.
  3. Saw the game on TV tonight. Alcoa looked like a "complete" football team while Goodpasture looked like a team hoping to compete. It was a very night/day telecast from the TV version of the game. Alcoa had athletes all over the field making play after play. Goodpasture moved the ball well offensively with their gimmick running game, but it just seemed like during predictable situations Alcoa's defense was able to stop the wingT just enough. Congrats to both schools for making it that far. Alcoa just had a little too much talent on the field for Goodpasture to deal with. Not their fault, they played a great game.
  4. Who cares if he "commits" right now? He doesn't have to sign for another 16 months or so. He can always "commit" and change is mind if a better offer is made available. He did the smart thing by committing early, and if he has a fantastic SR season then he might reevaluate his options. At least now he's going to SC (or at least that's the rumor).
  5. are there any more updated scores? Is the game over?
  6. I read on here somewhere that Alcoa is playing at Booker T. Washington for week 0.
  7. that's kind of how high school football works. You have a good player, by God give him the ball. Is that a big shock to you?
  8. Goodpasture was terrible from what I saw.
  9. you guys think that 91-7 vs. GP doesn't matter? There's no doubt that many east TN coaches probably voted against "alcoa's dustin lindsey" because of a perceived arrogant attitude. Football coaches are rednecks, let's be serious here -- they don't give a crap who's the "best" -- they're voting based on their redneck perception(s).
  10. did all 2900 of your posts come since the GP game? Everytime I read an Alcoa thread the ONLY thing you say is how Alcoa is lame for scoring 91 on GP. As an exgirlfriend once wisely told me, "it's time for you to grow up and get over it." Please.
  11. I agree it's the coach's responsibility to keep his players in check. And I also agree that 2 ejections in the same season is NOT a coincidence. What happened may or may not have warrented an ejection, but that's really not the point. If he were smart he would be extra careful and mindful that he's going to draw a lot of attention. What happened is unfortunate for the other kids on the team who count on him to make big plays, but it's certainly not the end of the world.
  12. Award: longest run-on sentence of all time: Congrats!
  13. He will most likely miss basketball season as well. Two ejections usually means that he cannot play ANYTHING.
  14. 15 yard penalty personal foul. 15 yard penalty excessive celebration. That happens all the time. Don't get me wrong. If it were up to me I would suspend someone forever if they spun the ball on the field. But that's CERTAINLY not worth an ejection. I don't believe in show boating at all in ANY sport, and it's sad that this guy probably isn't going to be able to play anymore football and probably not going to play any basketball games either.
  15. he got EJECTED from the game for spinning the ball on the ground??? That is total BS if you ask me. I figured he hit somebody late or did some kind of SERIOUS personal foul. It sounds like the refs had some kind of personal vendetta with him if they EJECTED him from the game for spinning the ball on the ground.
  16. in my personal experience a 2nd ejection means that he cannot participate in ANY sports for the remainder of the school year. This exact situation has happened with someone I know personally, and they were not allowed to participate in any sports the rest of their senior year for having had 2 ejections.
  17. you're a day late and a dollar short my friend. About 2 weeks to be exact.
  18. Loudon is just not good enough to beat Alcoa. If Alcoa beats themselves and Loudon plays great, it could be a close game.
  19. Some of you guys act like this is a tea party or something. 91 points happened, let's get over it. There is no way that Alcoa was TRYING to score 91 on GP last week. If you dwell on things you're only making it worse. If you truly feel like it was disrespectful then drop it and let's all move on to something else. Harping on the same thing over and over -- bringing it up time and time again is no way to show respect for a team that some of you apparently feel like was disrespected. 91 points happened unfortunately, big deal. It's round 2.
  20. I'm not sure what you're saying, but how can the HOME TEAM lose "local fan support" by winning 91-7??? It would be totally different if Alcoa won on the road, but the home fans are expecting Alcoa to win 500-0 every game.
  21. uh...wasn't the sweetwater score like 60-0? I think you're being a little bit unrealistic.
  22. So...how many of last year's state champions did Milan play this season? How many private school power houses did Milan play? How many out of state games did Milan play this year? I'm frankly surprised that Alcoa only lost 1 game, I thought they would lose 2 or 3 considering they pretty much played the best teams across the state. Maryville is just plain old better than Alcoa, but if you think Milan is better than Maryville you're nuts. Alcoa has played a MUCH more difficult schedule than anyone in region 7. The actual 2A region 7 is better than 2A region 2, i'll give you that. But...Milan has NOT played a tougher schedule -- it's not even close.
  23. It's the playoffs. If you can't compete, go home. In the regular season, especially early in the year I think running the score up on somebody is a little out of control. But, in the playoffs if you can beat someone 65-0 then by God do it. Because that means your next opponent is going to read the paper on Saturday and think "OH MY GOD." Taking the starters out of the game should purely be a circumstancial coaching decision, it has no bearing on what kind of "class" the program has. Like someone else said, it's many of the guys' senior year and they want to play ball. If you've ever played high school sports you know what i'm talking about. You look forward all summer just to put pads on and play EVERY down.
