  1. A kid was experiencing numbness after a hit. Life star was a precautionary measure because they weren't exactly sure what type of injury they were dealing with. The young man is back at home and still has slight numbness in fingers I believe, but he is doing well. He Will follow up with a neurologist in the up coming days.
  2. It's good to see the region 1 guys competing at the next level. Tyler has been to some of our workouts this summer and he is looking good physically. If he can stay focused this season, I really think that he can have a great year and great college career.
  3. He is still coaching wrestling. He just took the year off from football, not from wrestling.
  4. How much are you asking for the mats?

  5. With all due respect, I have watched Spradlin play. He is a good back. He really is, but after watching young last night, there is not much of a comparison. Young is truely unbelievable. He has great vision and feel of the field, and makes his cuts at full speed without changing gears and not to mention he is an all state track star. I knew he was fast but after last night, if you dont have an angle on him then you dont have a chance.
  6. i understand what you are saying but the fact is jeff county's 1st def went three series, 2nd went 2-3 series, then the 3-5 teams got in. heritage's 1st off scored on jeff co's 2nd because they started on the 3 yd line. i am not trying to be negative but dont give the impression that heritage's 1's beat jeff county's 1 or 2's. once again, i'm not trying to be negative but these are the facts.
  7. Im sorry to burst your bubble, but heritage did not score until jeff county had their 3rd team defense in. Heritage scored on jeff county's jv.
  8. Definition of a CHOP BLOCK - When an offensive player engages a defender above the waist while another offensive player blocks the same defender below the waist. Definition of a CUT BLOCK - When 1 offensive player blocks a defender below the waist. Jeff county did not chop block DB's players, they cut them. It is legal to cut a man on the line of scrimmage. If a DC brings the house and LB's are on the Line of Scrimmage, then they can be cut legally. DB on the other hand CHOP Blocked jeff Co's nose guard a few times through out the course of the game. If you watch the film, as you all keep yelling, this is what you will see. Just because Jeff Co did not lay down for your Precious Indians, they must have played dirty. Jeff County did nothing illegal. They cut blocked, not Chop Blocked. You all need to get over it and go back to your own thread.
  9. I'm really not sure why jeff county would be considered a disgrace to 5A. Yeah, it got ugly during the Euverard era..Tradition was lost. Things turned around a little last season. Over .500 and a playoff birth. Things seem to be heading in the right direction. It is a process. Kids that were not a part of a TRADITION back in the day, cannot pick it up at the snap of a finger. It does not happen over night, and if you think it does then you are foolish. Too many people try to magnify scrimmages and translate them to the outcome of the season. Scrimmages are practice sessions that allow you to get better. The 1st scrimmage was not good, but the 2nd was better, and the 3rd was a little better (reguardless of the team). That is the purpose of scrimmages, to get better. And as long as jeff co keeps improving each week, they will be alright.
  10. you seem high on coach anthony and it seems several people have the same opinion. did you play for him and what years because most people on here probably do not know who he is or when he coached. also i thought jeff co ran the veer, what is the "true veer' you speak of? im curious.
  11. The Jeff County and Sullivan South scrimmage has been moved to Carson-Newman College. Starting time is Still 6:00
  12. The scrimmage with South at 6:00 has been moved to Carson-Newman College.. Time is still 6:00.
  13. Apparently this is what has happened. The players gave blood and were either late to practice or missed it all together. They broke a cardinal rule - "Dont Miss Practice". Plain and simple. Now i am not against giving blood at all. I do it myself, but there is a time and place for everything. The way that the media tells the story, it makes the coach look like an idiot. but as we all know, the media doesnt always tell it like it is.
