  1. The team that is being overlooked is traditonal state contender Spring Hill boys, who have their best team ever including their state runnerup team of two years ago.
  2. Columbia Jamboree Schedule at Lindsey Nelson Stadium on Jim Cartwright Field Friday, Aug. 12 6 p.m. - Creekwood vs. Lawrence Co. 7 p.m. - Mt. Pleasant vs. Spring Hill 8 p.m. - Shelbyville vs. Columbia
  3. I have followed prep basketball closely for 45 years. Jessica Mooney is extremely talented. I have not seen her enough as compared to some other top talents, but the one thing I have noticed is her intensity level varies. As she goes into her senior year and later in college that will likely improve. Jessica, in the game I've seen, appears to play a 2 guard spot, but no doubt because her quickness and passing skills can play the point. If she shoots well enough, she would be an ideal 2 guard and if the gets taller she could play the 3 guard. Her leaping ability may be her best skill. I compare her running and leaping ability with UT-Chattanooga signee Nancy Moore. Nancy has always been much more active and shows more hustle.
  4. Would someone post the final score of the Forrest vs. Cascade girls make-up game played Saturday, Jan. 15?
  5. Columbia Central boys 71, Choctow, Fla. 53 Clint Marable, 6-5, junior all-tourney seniors Alston Enyard (16), Coty String (13) and Zac Walker (13) led the scoring. columbia's record is 10-5 with only loss in last 10 games to Gallatin in Wednesday's semifinals
  6. In wednesday night 8:30 semifinal, gallatin outscored columbia central 17-14 in final period to win battle of Tennessee teams 58-53 in semifinal of 16-team tourney. Consolation and championships on Thursday.
  7. marshall county overcame 13-point deficit to force overtime, then took 5 point lead but central scored final seven points led by DeAndrea Bullock for 51-49 win im final second on basket by Janay Armstrong on assist from alex ross. marshall co. is 8-2, columbia is 10-1
  8. I observed Nathan during a Brentwood Academy preseason scrimmage at Columbia Central. He started, played over one-half of the game, and showed he was one of the better developed players on the team and one of their top scorers and rebounders for BA in the scrimmage. I think that AAU play in recent years has helped his skill and his growth will help enhance his future.
  9. all articles on columbia central basketball appear on www.c-dh.net the Lions are playing friday at 4:45 vs. kenwood and saturday at 6:30 p.m. vs. LaVergne, both at lawrence county high wildcat thanksgiving classic. columbia scoring is extremely well-balanced. Basic lineup is Sr. Coty String and Jr. Clint Marable at the posts and seniors Zac Walker and Alston Enyard and junior Justin Bullock on the perimeter, but jr. Xavier Carter has started this year too.

  11. mt sports doesn't just post games by win or losses. He does a lot of free service for The Daily Herald that benefits a lot of kids in the Southern Middle Tennessee area out of the kindness of his heart and the enjoyment in doing so. He also provides persons who are interested in collegiate sports plus professional athletes. He has a collection of pros in men and women's golf, nba, nfl and auto racing. His pictures appear in more locations than just high school sites and the measure up with some o the best who shoot just pro sports. For sure, he doesn't base or post on just wins. He has a fulltime job to do and a family that he is dedicated too. His contributions to The Daily Herald are based on his availaibilty and what he can do. For instance, when he accepted the opportunity to do the Spring Hill game last Wednesday, the person who normally shoots in that area because of his home location was shooting three sporting events in nashville and mt sports went out of the way to be there. it was pre-targeted as the lead art and story for the Herald's next day edition regardless of who won or loss. It did help that coaches of both teams are reliable to report their game and to add to that the herald prep editor who wrote the story did so on his day off for if he had to work he would have had to be in the office. so thanks to a pair of adults who were dedicated to the kids and to the Herald, a lot of people benefitted.
