  1. No I have not seen them play and I am just throwing my opinion out there. Good luck to them though.
  2. I dont think GP will make it to the Alcoa game. I actually think they will get beat first round. However, if they do win they will more than likely have Loudon second round (assuming Loudon takes care of business 1st round) and I think Loudon will beat GP
  3. This is high school football and unless your a Maryville or Goodpasture etc your down years are extremely down. I played on a 1-9 team my freshman year and an 0-10 team my sophmore year and then went to the playoffs my junior and senoir year. Nothing is worse than being the joke of the region, county or city but it sure it nice when success comes. both teams should keep their heads up (regardless of who is coaching) and work hard for this game and even harder for next year. I'll pick Wartburg in a close one and good luck to both teams.
  4. This is a pretty meaningless game for Loudon other than pride. Rockwood has to win for a chance at the playoffs. I say its close but Loudon pulls it out. I'll also pick region 2 2a to sweep region 1 in the 1st round of the playoffs.
  5. yada yada....this is a thread about a football game...why even mention the six letter word Go Redskins
  6. probably a lot of points scored in this one...I'll go with the Redskins by a touchdown / however, our inconsistency on hitting a PAT may bite us eventually
  7. Does it not hurt some schools though. I would think that a 2-8 or 3-7 team having to travel 1-2 hours to a # 1 seed would have more expenses than gate the 25% of the gate money Not only that I just cant find the excitement in making the playoffs with that kind of record. My solution (as irrelevant and insignificant as it may be) would be only having 4 classifications and only taking the top 2 teams in a region. This would obviously cut the number of teams down but it would give a lot more value to the reg season and definitely give teams much more to work for.
  8. I'd be more concerned with game film than CoachT posts. Just my opinion though
  9. What are your thoughts on the number of teams that make the playoff vs the old system (as when it was just A, AA, AAA). I can remember (and I am not 30 yet) teams that did not make the playoffs at 9-1 and 8-2 or 7-3. Now days, $$$ controlling everything we have teams in the playoffs year after year at 2-8 and 3-7 in the playoffs. While I understand the notion of giving more teams opportunities it all boils down to the TSSAA making more money (50% of playoff gates-at least that is what it was a while back). Should the playoffs not be about the best in the state and not merely a second season for nearly everybody?
  10. My heart says Loudon by 7 or less. My mind says Kingston by 7. Loudons lack of size on the inside and their giving up big plays at crucial times has hurt them. I hope the coaches make the neccessary adjustments and we get to see a great game.... Go Redskins
  11. congrats to PC! I agree with fan2fan...if we want to stay competive we're going to have to be able to adjust during the game and stop giving up big plays
  12. Rumor in loudon is that the Redskins may be changing their names to the Red Raiders or just Raiders. this comes up everynow and then from a few thinking the name is offensive, but I hope its just rumor.
  13. I'll just leave the talking to the players on the field for both sides. The thread is about the game and the game is about the kids. Looking forward to a great ball game. Good luck to both teams and Go Redskins!
  14. funny how the messages are totally different this year from last! I'll go with Fulton simply because I seen them demolish loudon in a scrimmage earlier this year and I have not seen tyner Good luck to both
  15. I am not counting any eggs "dude" I said "hopefully" the streak will continue. Furthermore if you read my other posts I said "if" Loudon shows up and plays together and to their potential then they should win. And I also said if they are still hanging their heads over last week or looking ahead then they might get beat. So yes if Loudon plays their A game and Polk plays their A game I am picking Loudon by 10
  16. thanks...I was having to look them up year by year and thats why i stopped at 68 Hopefully the streak will continue this Friday night!
  17. back to the thread....I have not seen either team play but just from here say it looks that OS is a little down from last year and Kingston may be getting back to the old tough Kingston I'll go with Kingston by 14 and looking forward to next weeks meeting with Loudon
  18. Loudon's defense is a question mark...Sweetwater moved the ball but couldnt score, LC went up and down the field at ease, and Alcoa, well enough said about them. They have lots of speed but they tend to give up big plays. As far as Hawkins and Cambell scared to run after getting hit I dont think so. I have seen Hawkins get hit at the line pretty good and some how keep his feet going for more yardage (i.e. the winning touchdown agains LC came after breaking several tackles). If Loudon plays together and up to their potential I think they win. If they are over looking Polk that may be a different story
  19. your most welcome sir Loudon has two good running backs as well...everyone knows about Hawkins and can get the job done. Campbell is not very big but he has all kinds of speed and great vision for getting down the field.
  20. Its always better to check the facts. From 1968 to present here is what I have found. ( If you want to go past that look it up yourself loudonfootball.com) 1983 Loudon over Polk 48-12 1984 Loudon over Polk 38-21 1986 Loudon over Polk 28-7 (playoffs) and of course last year Loudon won 38-12 ( I think that was the score) I didnt find where Polk beat Loudon but I might have missed it...
  21. Ha...thats a long running history Maybe he was including scrimmages Good luck to both teams. I'll say Loudon 30-20
