  1. Congratulations to the Owls. That was a quality win against a quality opponent. You proved youth and lack of experience doesn't necessarily have to dictate how this season goes. This was a good foundation to build on for the rest of the year. I have nothing but respect for the Rams. You never quit...never gave up. You showed a lot of heart. You'll be fine the rest of the year. I expect to see you in the playoffs. Good luck the rest of the way.
  2. Will somebody with knowledge of the team give a forecast for next year? What positions are going to need to be filled because of graduating seniors.... who's gonna have a breakout season next year... etc...
  3. I don't know Coach Monroe, any of the assistant coaches, Brady Reed, Jacquez Smith, the Owl mascot, or the guy selling popcorn at the concession stand (although it's pretty darn good). I say that to make the point that I'm just a casual fan and an outsider. I played back in the late 80s - early 90s when we were winning 1 or 2 games a year so I have thoroughly enjoyed following the Owls the last 8 years or so as they have been playoff contenders every year. I usually bring my family to a couple games a year and listen to the rest on the radio or watch on TV. As a casual yet dedicated fan I don't know what the politics are around the team or what non-tangible things have an affect on the success the team has during a season... I just would like to see the owls make it to the championship game. All that being said, I have 2 questions: 1. In general, what is or has been the main stumbling blocks for the program? Please avoid using player names here... that's not what I'm asking. I just would like to know - in general - if it is a mindset thing, talent thing, community support thing etc... 2. What is the forecast for next year? How many seniors are we losing and will there be a lot of positions to be filled?
  4. Losing to McMinn Co. may have been the best thing that could have happened to the Owls. Hopefully this will be the 'wake-up call' they have been needing. I hope the old adage that a wounded animal is a dangerous animal applies here. Should be a great playoff game given the recent history of these 2 teams. Go Owls!
  5. Game Day!!!!!!! Getcha Popcorn Ready! (and Fish Sandwiches) Go Owls!
  6. Hey... so what about that game huh?!? Should be a barn-burner! There's a 40% chance of showers Friday night. Which team does that benefit? Also... just my own curiosity here... has Wayne Turner and Benny Monroe ever coached against each other? Go Owls!
  7. Good luck to both teams! 2 predictions for Friday night: Owls put a hurtin' on the Rams. I put a hurtin' on a fish sandwich.
  8. I'll be listening on my computer at work.... Go Jackets!

  10. Congratulation Patriots... You definately have a championship caliber team... good luck next week! Owls... don't hang your heads. The whole community is proud of what you've done. This is not the end of the story for you. Ooltewah will be back. Go Owls!!!
