  1. I wondered where this thread was! I thought I saw it briefly on Saturday with a few posts, then it must have gotten deleted or removed for some reason. I'm just excited that it's playoff time! Going to be a cool crisp night tomorrow evening. The precipitation should be gone (REALLY hoping), but the field is going to be wet for sure. Not sure if that favors one team or the other. But if HC Defense comes to play like I know they can, Munford won't score much at all. Looking forward to the Henry County Playoff Atmosphere - both pregame and during!!! Go Big RED!!!
  2. Hello Yanker! Its been a while since I've posted anything. Life's been a little busy. I noticed the dispute you and gbr were having about this game. I actually think that your score prediction was a little more accurate than the actual score. If we had wanted it to be 63-0, it would have been. However, I really thought it was going to be 63-8. Doesn't matter though, we completely dominated that game. And I expect the same next week.
  3. Should be a great game, Rossview will have to show up on D too. Henry County is starting to click much better offensively. Defense will have to play honestly, respect the pass and still bring the heat on run. Go Big RED!!!
  4. Hopefully, the Yanker will be sitting on the side of the Big Red Patriots!!!
  5. Well hello there Yanker! I will be at the Liberty game in Jackson. Not to hard to pick out I'm sure, I'll be wearing RED! Sorry to hear that JCM dissolved. Many great rivalry games took place between JCM and HC over the years. At least we have those memories!
  6. Its GameDay baby! Friday the 20th of November, quarterfinals of the Tennessee State Playoffs! Going to be a cool and crisp night perfect for some action between the Patriots and Cougars on the gridiron in Franklin. If the Big Red Defense steps up and takes care of business like I know they can, all will work out. Our offense needs to come ready to play and to make things happen. Going to be a great night! Been waiting on this rematch, without further adieu... Let's Get it ON!!! Go Big RED!!!
  7. What school did you go to? Personally, I hope its not a close game - but in our favor! Unlikely, I know. I think you are right on that this will be a great game, one of the best around! And like most of the Patriot posters on here, we tend to cheer for the Henry County Teams!
  8. Ok fbkicker, you seem to be falling into the category of lumping all HC fans into one bunch. First, if you were at the game you would have noticed that some very prudent changes to the Centennial defense in the 1st quarter clamped down completely the run game for HC. Our passing attempts were nearly nonexistent. The 4th down call right before half was certainly a game changer, anyone would tell you that. And finally, things changed in the 4th for two reasons: 1. Quarterback change and passing that was nonexistent in the first 3.5 qtrs. came to life 2. The Centennial defense was very tired running up and down and got caught off guard by the change - not because they "let off the gas." I don't think anybody is on here trying to take credit away from Centennial. They handed it to us, no doubt. But a furious comeback that almost happened nearly spoiled it. So I would expect different results from a different approach - as to the end of the game, only time will tell...
  9. Nice, thanks for clarifying BT! It is a tall order, but one that the Patriots are capable of. I believe that the Big Red Defense will come out with a little more passion this week. Also hoping that the cougra's are looking ahead to Indy and a rematch with them... And no sign of a white out, so bring your Big Red gear!!!!! Go Big RED!!!
  10. As quiet as it has been this week, It's GameDay baby!!! Ready to get this one going! The Patriots need to come out and hit the Eagles hard to remind them where they are playing, take care of business early! Its going to be a cool one out there tonight, so the Big Red Faithful need to bundle up and come on out, Loud and Proud!!! Without further adieu... Let's Get it ON!!! Go Big RED!!!
  11. Awfully quiet... I guess no Northeast posters out there anymore. I agree with rb, Northeast has to have gotten better. Look for them to come out with a "nothing to lose" attitude - which is always dangerous! We need to have a big crowd on hand for what will likely be our last home game of the season. Let's finish strong!!! Go Big RED!!!
  12. I agree, it was a sub-par crowd for our standards, but still around 3/4 full. Plus Munford brought a few more than I expected - not counting their band of course! Not sure that the downtown thing effected it any more than normal, but for some reason first round playoffs have had a tendency to be a little lackluster in attendance. Maybe this week will be better.
  13. Nothing certain on #3, but word is that it was not as bad as first thought. The original consensus was poor, but now looks much better from I have been hearing. So I'm encouraged. I'm also really encouraged that we have a home game this week! Wasn't expecting that at all! Happy to have another, let's keep this train rolling... Go Big RED!!!
  14. Its GameDay baby! And playoff round 1 between the Patriots of Henry County and the Cougars of Munford. The weather seems to have passed so gametime will be perfect football conditions. This is a strong running team bringing the veer against one of the best front 4 in 5A. Going to get interesting!!! Let's Get it ON!!! Go Big RED!!!
  15. Great list and Patriot Proud of Gunner Osbron, 5A lineman! Just curious tho, how is Tyrel Dodson in the lineman category? His is a stud linebacker and also a running back on offense...confused
  16. Great to see you back to predicting on Thursday Yanker. The Patriots will be ready this Friday. Tonight is the annual steak dinner and there should be a great crowd. I think its quiet on here this week for a couple reasons. First, no Munford faithful getting in the debate. Second, we ended the regular season with a loss that hasn't happened in quite a long time. Usually we are gearing up for the playoffs with a big win to close things out. Still though, I feel that the boys will be fired up and ready to make their statement on this season. Right now we are 0-0, looking for that first win... Go Big RED!!!
  17. If that is the case this week, it will be tough for Munford to move the ball. Henry County's run defense will be ready this week. Go Big RED!!!
  18. First, congrats to a great Centennial team that was soundly better last night in all aspects of the game. Spotty officiating is an understatement. Not the worst I've seen, but pretty sorry. Particularly the PI calls and non-calls. However, on the play you are referring to it wasn't a "late hit" so to speak. The CHS player was riding on his back trying to pull him down well onto the track - a good 10-15 yds past the sideline. As to the way the game finished, I have no doubt that we can play with them. A rematch would be nice. Maybe Hendersonville or Beech will take Indy out! Now on to Munford and the first round.
  19. GameDay is upon us! Kind of crazy that its the last regular season game of the year. The weather appears to be perfect, if not on the cool side a bit. Looking for the Patriots to come out strong and make their presence known early in a classic gridiron battle with the Cougars! Region Championship up for grabs, playoff seeding and homefield advantage in play, a matching of the wits with two great coaching staffs, what more can you ask?!?!? Without further adieu... Let's Get it ON!!! Go Big RED!!!
  20. There will be several HC fans there around 5:00 tailgating, not exactly sure where but we'll be there. As usual, you shouldn't have much trouble spotting us. Go Big RED!!!
  21. Well, we're about 24+ hours away from the game of the week/month/year! Does anybody have the average rushing yds per game for the Big Red Defense? It doesn't seem to be an easy stat to find, though I thought it should be. Seems that Centennial is avg about 50yds per game. Could be a juggernaut if both teams play their best defensive games! Ready for this one... Go Big RED!!!
  22. I don't disagree with that at all. HC has played Ravenwood a number of times in the past. They are definitely a great 6A team. And yes, homefield advantage is normally a difference. However, you may or may not know that Henry County Faithful normally try to equalize that effect. Probably won't be the case Friday night, but we normally bring as many (usually even more) fans as the home team has. It is going to be an interesting game no doubt. I'm really getting excited for this one!!! Go Big RED!!!
  23. Bad comparison. This years Ravenwood team is not last years team. Look on the Centennial site at the scores and how much per quarter. I just don't think pound for pound that their D is "just as good." Don't get me wrong, they have a solid defense, no doubt! But the LB's for Centennial are great, the rest of their D is solid. HC's D-line is great, and our LB's aren't far behind Centennial's. Just my opinion...
