  1. How did the scoring go? When did Cascade go for two?
  2. I read in the Shelbyville paper last Thursday that he went to Dade County, GA. There wasn't much written about his leaving considering that he was the head softball coach, the defensive coordinator for football, and had been there several years. Coach Parker, the baseball coach, had about three full page articles, but I think that Danny Parker, the writer for the paper is coach Parker's brother so maybe that's the difference. I hope that Austin enjoys his new job and has a lot of success.
  3. Are you sure that Coach Austin is leaving? I have seen 2 or 3 stories about the baseball coach leaving but I have not seen anything in the Shelbyville paper about Austin leaving. I would think that since Austin is head softball coach and the defensive coordinator for football it would at least be mentioned in the paper.
  4. I think that JB wins the region again. Cascade, Forrest, and White House should round out the top four.

    Run Rule

What is the "mercy rule" or "Run Rule" in TSSAA softball? Runs after three? Runs after 5? It seems like I have seen different calls made on this rule this year.
  6. Have they interviewed anyone yet? If so, who?
  7. Has Moore County started interviewing or even taking applications yet?
  8. It don't look like anyone has much interest in this posting this year. Last year when the Moore County job was open everyone was talking. What's up this year? Are any of the coaches staying?
  9. After seeing both teams play this year, I have to go with Jo Byrns. I am not taking anything away from Mt. Pleasant, but I don't think Marco can run over the JB defense all night. If Daily ever gets injured, ( I hope he don't) then their game is over. I know that everyone thinks it will be close, but I say JB 35, MP 21.
  10. I read CoachT, but don't post very often. After reading how you think Cascade's D is so weak; I just had to respond. Cascade's D has kept them in games this year several times when the offense started very slow. During the last 11 games, including wins over 2 region 6 teams, Cascade has averaged giving up 11.3 points a game. Some of those points were not scored on the D, but I counted them there anyway. We gave up at total of 13 points against the two region 6 teams, Moore County and Collinwood combined. You do the math, 6.5 points. I think that Mt. Pleasant gave up 38 and 21 against the same two teams, 29.5 points a game. I know that you can't compare teams, because every game is different, but I don't think you can really say Cascade's defense is weak and know what you??™re talking about. I have also seen some Collinwood people saying we only beat them because they turned the ball over. I think a good defense causes some turnovers. I admit that Cascade??™s D gave up a lot of yards against Collinwood, but the bottom line is, they bent, but didn't break. You can have 500 yards of offense and a lot of first downs, but if you don't cross the goal line, it doesn??™t mean a lot.
  11. I didn't go to White House Heritage the last time Cascade played there. I heard that they don't play at the school. I need directions if anyone can help.
  12. I say Cascade wins big. The coaches for both teams will have them ready to play, but I think that Cascade just has too much for Community to handle. I agree that Cascade coaches and players have respect for Coach Frost and his program and I think that coach Frost also respects Cascade's coaches and players. This game will be all about football and nothing else.
  13. I'm sure that some 4A schools would be better off with a good 1A coordinator. I saw in the Shelbyville paper that one 4A school only had 22 yards on the ground and 3 yards passing for a total of 25 yards in total offense with no first downs. I don't think I've ever seen such a low output for an entire football game.
  14. I think that I have to agree with you, Cascade 11. But like you said, only time will tell. I wish MC the best, but it may be a little to early to bestow sainthood on the new coach. If he only gets one new assistant and has to work with some of the old assistant coaches, it may be another hard year for MC. I think any head coach will have hard time winning unless they clean house.
  15. I checked that out. If you click on Cascade at the bottom of the screen, you will see that CoachT or whoever is counting a JV loss last Monday night against Cascade. Come on CoachT, we know that you picking JB, but is it really necessary to count a JV loss against the varsity schedule.
  16. I agree with you 100% on this post. It's way to early for either team to be talking about week 10. I hope Cascade stays focused. All they need to be worried about now is McEwen.
  17. I don't reply to very many post, but after reading all of the moaning and groaning about the ALEDGED Cascade personal fouls and cheap shots I for one hope that your post about three the complaints to TSSAA is true. I have seen every Cascade game this year and I promise you that if the officials call a fail game i.e. calling personal fouls on both teams that deserve one, Cascade will break even at worst and may come out with less personal foul calls than the other team. I think it is funny how so many of you know-it-alls know sooo much about Cascade. If some of you players that post on here paid more attention to the team you were preparing to play instead of looking for Cascade to do something wrong, then maybe you would have won more games and in some cases, maybe you wouldn't be so near the bottom of the the list of tackles posted in the Nashville paper. I hope Cascade continues to play with the same intensity the rest of the year. Remember the play IS NOT OVER until the whistle blows. If an opponent is standing around enjoying the game and the whistle has not blown, HIT HIM! As far the post about Carkuff being releived of his play calling duties, it looks like Shelbyville might want to relook that decision. He has helped Cascade has win 6 this year, how many has Central won?
  18. I agree that Cascade looked good on both offense and defense tonight. I have always been a region 6 fan but thought that I would check out a region 5 game tonight. I have heard it said that you couldn't tell much about Cascade's defense because they had not played a decent offense all year. After tonight, they still have not played anyone with an offense, but I would have to say that they are pretty good. The only score that Forrest could muster was against the kick-off return special team. Cascade's offense also looked good, even though Forrest's defense was not very good. Over all I was surprised at how well Cascade played and how bad they made Forrest look.
