  1. Can anyone who attended the scrimmage give some details for those of us who weren't there?
  2. It's really exciting to see William Blount do so well. I would definitely place them in the top three for the regular season, but it will be interesting to see how this young team plays in the tournament. Go Lady Govs
  3. Wow, that's later than usual! If anyone has any info on possible spring scrimmages or intra-squad games, let me know
  4. It has been pretty quiet this year. Has anybody heard anything about spring practice yet?
  5. Like I said, I don't speak for WB. And I never said anything negative about Maryville...but I don't see why I should be attacked for not pulling for the Rebels. Read my previous posts before jumping on the hate wagon...I didn't come on here to do anything but congratulate WS, and when I did so, a Maryville fan took a shot at me and I responded accordingly. Can we leave it at that, like it was orignially intended to be?
  6. For the record, I don't speak for the WB community, school, fans, or football team. I speak soley for myself...and I think it's rather judgemental to call me a joker just because I'm happy that White Station won the game.
  7. I wasn't making fun of anyone, just expressing my satisfaction that White Station won the game. Nor did I bring my alma mater into the discussion. Why don't you stop taking off-topic cheap shots and enjoy your silver ball. "If you're not first, you're last." GO SPARTANS!
  8. Aww... your team can't beat Maryville so you have to take piggyback rides from other teams. Poor little guy! Don't waste any tears on me, I'm plenty satisfied right now

  10. It's been a lot of fun watching the Govs play this year...this year's team is a good group of guys and I'll certainly miss following their football careers. I wish all the Seniors the best of luck as they move foward in life. As for the game...the last one is always bittersweet, especially when you know that the playoff picture is already set. That doesn't change the chance to go out on top and end on a high note, though. William Blount and Farragut have played some great games over the past few years, but WB just can't seem to get a win. It would be huge for this year's team to finally break through that barrier on their last game. Play every single down hard, no matter if you're up by twenty or down by twenty...because the truth is, as I was once told, "You'll always remember your last one" WB-36 Farragut-35 GO GOVS!! -TG
  11. Thanks for the info...I haven't done too well in following the new playoff system. Do you know who has to lose to help the Govs out?
  12. I can't believe that it's already Senior Night at WB...this season has really flown by! As for the game tomorrow night, it's huge. If I'm not mistaken...the Govs stand a good chance of making the playoffs if we win 2 of our last 3. WB should not take LC lightly, but I think the Govs will win this one. My prediction is WB-31 LC- 10 Go Govs!
  13. William Blount is an extremely dangerous team this year. Our three losses have come to teams with a combined one loss. Playing such a difficult schedule has helped the younger players on our team grow up in a hurry. Heritage is a better team than they were last year, but it won't be enough this Friday night. I wish I could be there to see it, but WB will beat the Mountaineers and keep the bell! WB-33 Heritage-9 Go Govs!!
  14. Not all William Blount fans hate Coach Meadows. He was wonderful for William Blount and it's not fair to blame him for taking a great coaching opportunity that doesn't come along very often. I do wish that he hadn't left and that he was still at WB...but I don't hold anything against him for doing what he believes to be the best for him. His decision to leave shouldn't un-do all the good things he did for WB football. On the other hand, I do understand that WB's players are drawing lots of motivation going into this game, and you can't blame them at all for that. It's extremely hard to have a coach leave so close to the season starting, especially after already going through spring practice and workouts. The disappointment is still very fresh, and this is a huge game for them. Go Govs!!! To answer your last question...Heritage WHO?
  15. Meadows won't let Catholic overlook WB, but WB has had this date circled since May. The Govs are coming off the biggest comeback in school history and have momentum on their side. WB can't afford a slow start against such a good team, but motivation won't be an issue this week. I'm calling the upset William Blount- 31 Catholic- 28 Go Govs
  16. Final Score- WB 38 JC 35 Awesome job tonight, William Blount! The Govs were down 28-0 before reeling off 35 unanswered points. That was the best comeback I've ever seen in person. Carry this momentum to Catholic next week! GO GOVS
  17. Unlike coach1076, I'll stick to relevant information about this year's game. Bearden looks very strong this season, they can beat you through the air or on the ground with Devrin Young. William Blount improved greatly between the first and the second games, and I look for this trend to carry over to Friday as well. This is a big game for both teams, especially with the new district set-up. It will be tough to make the playoffs in such a tough region, and falling behind early makes things that much harder. I'm calling the upset in this one. William Blount's secondary will need to make key plays (Brandon Miller is more than capable of this) and if we do that and hold Young in check, I see a chance for WB to get the win. WB- 24 Bearden- 22
  18. Josh Brown moved to Kentucky after the Oak Ridge game last season. He is a great football player and an even better guy. It's a shame that he left, because he's missed on the field and off. I could go on and on about Josh and how much fun he was, not to mention the very good football player that he was becoming.
  19. William Blount is going to surprise a lot of teams this year, especially if we can correct the mistakes that killed us last week. WB- 27 Karns- 10
  20. I heard the same thing, tpoole. I'd say it's a way to make-up for the rainout this past week
