someone should add a word or two about the disrespectful way that dyer county have been called cheats all year and how they have gone 30 -1 in a rebuilding year,yet their coach isn't voted coy by his peers. if their is a bit of childish behavior in the actions of dyer counties brothers in district 13aa it might stem from the lack of adult leadership shown by their leadership. i was one who showed my disapproval the 13aa coaches choice for coy and am not ashamed of it.........westviews coach showed class as he expressed his puzzlement to mccord also. why would anyone be surprised that dc would be shocked by the vote.

when a player pushes off it a foul, not home cooking. geez. it shouldnt matter if it happens in the first thirty seconds or the last. did anyone catch that lakecounty fan implied mccord was an assistant to whitby at oc. hes from MO. NEVER COACHED IN TN BEFORE. went to murray state and memphis state. met his wife there and coached at scott sity for 10 yrs. cape for 5 here for 3. thats 18. hes 44. do the math...........opps they dont teach that in lc.........

personally , im getting tired of the slow starts. my heart cant take it. i love the way coach mccord is building a program- not just a team. when they get hot in the first quarter the younger guys really get more experience. the crazy set of curcumstances that brought him and last years team together were stars aligning. now with the talent coming up we are gonna see some good ball for some time. i cant tell you how many times i heard that dc would fall this year. lol. i work in ripley in a factory represented by pretty much all of west tennessee. they know their ball and they appreciate dc. go boys and play hard. westview wont go down easily but i say dc by 16

i spoke of young peoples choices. johns brother told me himself that it was johns choice. his decision. i respect his parents for helping him. my reference to college was not from a recruiting standpoint. YOU need to re-read my post. it was all about mature choices based on best information. that why it was a comparison of life choices as related to work also. address that part of my post. the rest is an angry outburst that franly doesnt surprize me. it is in standing with your attitude on court side. please rwad my post again and see what it daid.

all this transfer chat is getting old. all the threads talk about school spirit and going where one is zones like our school systems are a caste system. if you follow that logic, on graduation you would go to college in your immediate area and jobs in your cities where you were born. lol! we all know which players transferred to dc. i was told by the brother of one that he came to dc because he felt that that was where he would get his best shot at his best college offer. if that isn't a choice made for academic reasons, what is? anyone who is disrespecting these young mens' choices are doing it for selfish reasons. they are the people counting w's and l's. its very narrow minded to say these young men should honor their neighborhood schools and be a servant to where they where born! grow up people. they made choices they felt would improve their future and that's what adults do. they did nothing illegal or dishonest. you disrespect them with all this chat.

wasnt kim decker a head coach at lc and oc? what is her record? how did she do in playoff time? win district or region?

preston is from dyersburg, but i doubt he was ' helping' the dhs team last year. i talked to him at too mant dchs games lol he loves ball and was a great help to derrick during his first year. good luck to him at uc. he had a teaching position at northview , so i seriously doubt ANY things said that he aided dhs at all. this year, the only coach at dchs who might give the dhs post consideration would be clark. he is from clarksville and has no real ties to either school. i dont think hed go from talent to NO talent just to be a head coach, but stranger things have happened. mccord isnt going and beck played for him in high school. he isnt a back stabber and wont go. thats why i said no dc coaches would tak4e the job. to the point now. dhs is too hard to please. u have to win AND play the right kids. i know this is a point i make that gets me in trouble, but its a fair statement. good luck to dhs finding a new coach and ' tip it off'

both games that dc played against gc mccord emptied his bench in the first and second halves. maybe he left cj in to prepare the second and third strings for next year. you know, real game experience. i guess we should have let our head cheerleader play point to appease pioneer. we didnt run the score up. ya'll stunk it up.

dc isn't eating crow. why get on here and moan about crap or cry about the season. it was a GREAT SEASON. ONE THAT MOST TEAMS ONLY DREAM OF. WE ARE PROUD OF OUR TEAM AND COACHES. OUR FURURE LOOKS BRIGHT. WE WILL HAVE MUCH MORE TO CHEER FOR IN THE FUTURE! everyone wants to win it all, but only 5 do. we aren't eating humble pie. we are getting ready to feast again.

i see bowling and kennedy as men who care more about money than anything else. they took a talented dyersburg team and turned it into a boring dissapointment. i can't blame them alone. d'burg always tries to buy a gold ball. they needed a new coach last year and bought him and a qb. sadly ,you saw what they got. it's really what they deserved. i hope bowling and kennedy have much more success in uc, but if they are recruiting players then they are the snake oil salesmen they appeared to be at dyersburg

dyer county doesnt talk trash or try to get 'into' someone's head. they ball and let that make their statement. it should be a heck of a game. cpa is talented and has the home court advantage. dc will force tempo and use its bench. btw was big and had great shooters. dc had home court. it will be a toos up who wins. the whole bracket is tough.

edinbro, its not always wise to let other people tell you how to think. coach mccord is respectful of his team. i have never seen him berate or humilate his players. what fans and coaches have you talked to. i bet i can tell you why they have their opinions if i knew who they are.

none of us i coaching dc, but how can anyone who has gone to all these games think mccord will change now. did mitchell slow things down to beat btw. the score tells me different. we will see who is more accurate monday. im not dc's coach, but if icy is someones coach im glad he is not ours. whats the old sports analogy - if you bring her to the party you gotta dance with her. mccord won't change his style. horton better be prepared to run all night and rest his starters. it will be a track meet.

its not checkers or chess..it's basketball. dc forces tempo. even when they went to cookville this christmas break they played up tempo with the mid-state teams. did pretty good. lost their one game to white county. 75-71. hostile environment with white county thirty miles away. big team and a sub-state aaa team. they didn't change then and they wont now. tip it off. dc's stratagy is you have to outplay them at their game.

dc will run and press. thats the game they play. win or lose. im happy with that. win or lose. last year they did the same thing and fell behind. their top six players played almost the entire game. they were down 11 with 2 and a half minutes to go. pressed and outran btw til the end and held them scoreless. 13 to 0 run. btw won't underestimate them, but are they ready for round two. it will be the same kind of track meet. dc's game will hinge on their bench. it is deeper than last years and must produce. but don't think they will slow things down. they want to win, but if they lose they would rather losr 99 to 98 than 65 to 64. you can't be successful changing styles right now. i think they will win a tight game, but i know HOW IT WILL BE PLAYED. up tempo. it might be fred hortom remembers last year and how spent his team was in the end and WISHES dc would slow it down and play zone. it won't happen. changing now would admit defeat before the game starts. dc can run with btw and play them step for step. tip it and see who is best.

i hear what you all are saying about the 2000 team and this one and i have seen them both many times. people, the question was better TEAM ,not better starting 5. butch's team would have had trouble with the 32 minutes of heck going on now. and god forbi d someone should get into foul trouble. when the second wave of mccords marauders hit them they would be tugging shorts and gulping air. no doubt his starting five were better offensively on the perimeter and cyrus was a great rebounder. but his range was a lay-up. as a team mccords men are lightyears better on the defensive end. you all are forgetting all that. hands down this is a better TEAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
