Get em a soccer ball! Closest thing to football for girls in my opinion. My girl has loved it and played since she was 4. She just lost in the state semifinals to the defending state champs. Kinda sad but playing in the state tournament , winning big in the first round and actually being thought of as a threat to win it all was a great way for her to close out her senior year.

I didn’t say we were good I just said we could play offense. We had 250 yards of offense against Midway...could have been about 400 if there hadn’t been a flag evertime we got a first down that night.

Hampton was the only Defense to shut us down this year. I know we weren’t great but before the Hampton game we were averaging about 24 points a game and had a RB that no one held under 100 yds! We didn’t sniff the endzone and probably only had 50 total yards of offense IF we had that. I know y’all are thinking that’s not a great comparison but if you seen us play at all this year you know we could play a little offense and Hampton shut us down completely!

About what I figured. Hampton playing good ball down the stretch.

I'm not saying that at all, but how much fun is this game for EITHER team? Besides why would it be punishment? Wouldn't a championship for Alcoa at this point mean a little more if they actually had to play other teams similar to them? The top 2 teams in your region after Alcoa could win 1A and 2A and have ZERO chance to get past yall. The top 2 teams in region 1 would compete in the first 2 or 3 rounds in 1A and 2A so your move em to 1A comment is foolish and you know it! Again I'm not a give everyone a trophy kinda guy, I honestly agree with someone else who said narrow the playoffs down to the top 2 and I even think we should drop down to 3 or at most 4 classifications. That would eliminate this problem all together. I just think its foolish to even play this game to begin with. There isn't even the smallest glimmer of hope for an upset. I can't imagine that the staff at WG are even trying to convince their kids they have a shot.

I cant believe that there hasn't been a team in the first round just say " the heck with it we aint going to Alcoa"! People say "on any given night" but NO ONE in region 1AAA has a chance to beat Alcoa EVER! I'm not knocking anyone but you could make a region 1AAA all star team and they would get beat by Alcoa by 50! It's time for TSSAA to start some sort of merit system for classifications. I'm not a give everyone a trophy kinda guy but I am a give everyone a chance kinda guy. Year in year out there will be 1 or 2 teams tops in AAA that can stay within 50 of the Tornadoes! I know Alcoa has AAA enrollment but they honestly should be competing with Knox West, Fulton , Science Hill , and DB in East TN. for championships not Chuckey Doak and West Greene!

Hancock is big and rough and have one of the better big athletes #13 you will see! That being said Coalfield still rolls fairly easily in this one. 48-6

Hampton over Gap BIG Oneida over North BIG SG/Rockwood is a toss up but at SG im going with them Meigs over HV in a somewhat close game maybe 35-14 or so Hampton/Oneida second round should be fun ill say Hampton by 14 Meigs will beat SG in a somewhat stress free but good game. I think we have Hampton/Meigs in 3rd round. Id hate to have to bet on that game , but I'll pick Hampton in a defensive battle!

None taken, I agree. From what little I’ve seen from CG this year we have better skill guys but they’re a little better up front. They are also a little deeper.

Yea you have em backwards, oldest is currently Director of schools. He played on the real good teams in the 80's and coached the state tourny teams in the late 90's. Youngest is the judge. Seen Coach Williams a couple weeks ago, hes doing well. I played for him in the mid 90's.

Late 90's, Boys basketball had a good run of state tourny appearances and a couple silver balls. Had a good team in the mid 80's that made the tourny. Had a few more since then to make it to Murfreesboro as well. They moved the soccer tourny to next week due to weather so it hasnt been as chaotic for me this week as it would have been.

Easy now! Lol but seriously if you want uhhh ya know I know some people..hahahah just kiddin it’s all legal now anyway only people over here left doing it the old way are on tv doing it soooo

Well my Lady Eagles won tonight! Big Time 5-0 win in a sub state game over C.Gap! Headed to Murfreesboro next week to try to bring home Cosby’s 1st gold ball in any sport! So proud of my daughter and her team. Gonna be a tired ole eagle this week fellas!

Looking forward to seeing all you guys next week. We are playing some good football as of late but we haven’t seen the quality of a Hampton team in a few weeks. Even though I like you guys we’re gonna do everything we can to make you guys have to travel in week 1 of the playoffs! Lol On a side note my daughter is playing in a sub state soccer game at Cosby tonight after we beat Alcoa (crazy right) in the region championship. If they win we’re headed to Murfreesboro next week. That will make for one really busy (and tired) ole eagle!

Lol..we always do. We play Hampton well every year for about a half or so. We can play a little. I said on another thread that we always seem to put a really good game plan on the dogs but the still always seem to be ready for us. You can tell they prepare hard for whoever that play!

I see the youth league MS championship stuff thrown around a lot, just got to say thats nonsense. Everyone knows that the best High School programs have youth and MS teams teaching a TON of kids to play football, not taking their best athletes and trying to win MEANINGLESS youth league championships and pushing other kids to the bench so they quit before they even reach High School! The difference between MS and HS is light years apart. That super fast kid that beats everyone to the edge and scores 5 TD's a game aint that fast anymore when he gets in HS and hes never been taught to play any other way because that doesnt help Coach Daddy win a MEANINGLESS Youth league title!

Just about all of our Rural East TN. schools have a beautiful back drop to play in front of. We are all blessed to live where we do. I've been a lot of places and East TN./Western N.C. is as good as it gets!

Yalls field looks great guys! I'm gonna need a gatorade cooler full of black coffee on that away sideline in two weeks though..lol

We go about 7 deep then we have 7-8 more that play...lol We have 3-4 that play some special teams and sub in occasionally for a break but our best 11 are on the field pretty much the whole game. Practice is were depth kills you the most in my opinion, No real quality to practice against, no one pushing to challenge for starting spots. Kinda kills the competitiveness through the week.

I dont know about "on the ropes" but we played em well. 14-7 at halftime then depth kicks in. We go about 14-15 deep, makes for some tired youngins in the 4th quarter, and trust me we condition our tails off but theres only so much you can do with 15 on 30! Reason 34-b we should be 1A

If Catholic did them like they did the Greene County schools Cloudland came away with a dandy little pay day!
