Playing in this region has killed us. Its done exactly what you said. We have no business playing 2A ball. If you remember back when we were 1A and could be competitive EVERY WEEK , we were never world beaters but always put together a good team every year. We've fought our tails off the last few years to keep what we have. We are as good this year as we've been in sometime and we cant sniff a region win. We have had every region team we've played this year a little worried and ticked off at halftime but still cant come close to a W!

I agree with you if you are already an established program , year in year out playoff contender....BUT what good does it do Oakdale , Jellico , or US (Cosby) even to schedule Oneida and GP, and Meigs or someone else who's just gonna beat our brains in? We are probably the best of those 3 and we dont need to be on the field with Oneida , GP, or Meigs. Wouldn't do either of us any good! We used to play GP a lot. was a Region game for a few years but played em before that some as well. The only good that came out of it most years was a large home gate!

Trust me I know! We have put some VERY good gameplans on Hampton the last few seasons and they always come in ready to play! We’re a little depth and size away from being very good. I’d go as far as to say our top 7 or 8 kids are as good as anybody in the region. We have been in every game for a while in the second half this season and I full on expect the same against Hampton.

We’re good enough this year where Hampton will still have to scheme and practice and prepare for us I can promise you that. I’d like to be the pee in Hamptons post season Cheerios for sure though. Not that I don’t think highly of a lot of people up there it would still be fun to be the team that made em have to travel in the first round!

Yea , I told a friend of mine if GP didn't beat em at GP under those circumstances the other night I dont know that they ever will. GP has a coach for every 3 players and top notch facilities to draw good talent but i dont know that any of us rural mountain schools will ever have AE type talent!

AE played better FOOTBALL than ive seen them play in some time. They have out athleted everybody the last few years but they looked like a good football team last week not just faster than everyone.

2nd best huh? I assume GP is #1 on that list. They are pretty sporty this year man. I went and watched em play AE last Thursday , good game that they had a solid shot at winning. Its a shame both GP and AE are in the same district with Alcoa.

We have to scheme our tails off just to be competitive most weeks. We may have just nailed offensive gameplan against SN or HV may have just nailed defensive gameplan against us?? It just felt like we moved the ball all night against North but after our first series of offense against HV they shut us down. Again however I believe if you dont have the beef up front to stop em SN will force you into scoring a lot of points. I wouldn't go against pujo's perspective much either though. He knows High School ball in upper East TN. as well as anyone!

Played both of em at Cosby...HV is WAAAAY better defensively than SN. SN offense can be very hard to stop if you're a bit undersized but if you have the hosses up front you can scheme em up pretty good. I may be wrong, i have been before once or twice lol , but going off of seeing both teams live and in person HV is better. JMO

SN isnt that much better than us Defensively..We put 31 on em, 24 on their 1's while the game was still close. I think HV wins this one 35-21 or something like that. Its at SN though so HV may be wore out after they hike from the locker room behind Eastman to the stadium!

Carter County will be packed for football Friday night with Greeneville at Betsy and SG at Hampton!

I'm not sure how good they were "Advertised" but I'll tell you this you better get ready for some quality o-line play and a QB who knows how to make his offense go. I do believe they can be scored on if you can match their size up front and throw it around some. They are certainly the best team we have played so far I'll say that. We haven't Played Hampton yet though.

ole sonny's puter had Claiborne as 12 point favorites over us Friday. Our record is VERY misleading though. We are way better than our record and the Unaka game is really throwing his puter off. We were down 5 starters against Unaka, 1 of which was arguably our best player. If we had #9 against the Rangers we beat em by 21. Sounds crazy but he's that good! if we're full strength we beat em by 35..JMHO

We moved the ball on SG on the ground and through the air...just couldn't stop em. They are the real deal on the O-line! Probably the best O-line play any of us will see in 2A ball this year. At least until 3rd round of the playoffs. If this game was at SG id go with them for sure but at Hampton I think the Bulldogs may get em in a close 4 quarter shootout. Dogs 35 Rebs 28

ANY Greene County school you go to you’re down 21 before the game starts. Greene County has to get more homer calls than anywhere else. Y’all are a close second up there in Carter County though..lol. Played up there a few years ago and 3 of the officials on the field had played for Mike at either Cloudland it or Hampton??? We got a sideline warning for mentioning that too! Lol, I don’t know who would have said that!

We’re on a bye this week. If this was at SG I’d be there no doubt. Might even drive to Hampton Friday night. Should be a good one!

Lol ..that’s why we do it! Y’all have a great shot at making a deep playoff run. O-line play is top notch and QB is a true field general and leader. Does a great job running that offense!

We all have em. They were just encouraging everything both coaches and officials were trying to put a stop to at one point in the game. I honestly believe about 90% of the silly stuff on the field stemmed from some of their comments heard by kids on bothe teams. What ultimately got em though was the fact that our coaches couldn’t communicate with our kids on the sideline for a couple of adults trashing our kids.

We have a sophomore OL thats 6'4" buuuuuut I dont think he can cover that guy. lol Our biggest DB is maybe 5'10". Oh well we will lineup and get after it like we do every week no matter who they put pads on over there. We have some offensive weapons that I'd bet they're a little nervous about too.

I know we talk alot about sports and use that as reasons to combine schools or not and so on but if you look at education and test scores Cloudland is a VERY good school! dont see Carter County messing with that much right now.

If you shut down their run game youve done something. Those kids have been running that offense since they could walk and they are pretty good at it. You will score on em though. Id say Hampton by 14+

They are all starters on the Basketball team. New Basketball coach has really encouraged his guys to play other sports. They all seem to really like football too and are glad they are out there.
