  1. I'm sure you are right. Ridgeway ... I mean Northside ... I mean East is gonna run us off the field. (Is there an echo, I've heard that before)
  2. Third round is predetermined. Rounds 1 and 2 depend on seed. Round 4 will be in Middle Tn.
  3. They have traveled out of Memphis once this year and lost 31-14 on that trip.
  4. According to the bracket the Lexington / North Side winner hosts next week. I think that bodes well for the winner of this game. East will have to get on a bus and travel. They aren't used to long road trips so that could be an advantage.
  5. I am contrasting Liberty to Riverside. Liberty is a MUCH better football team than Riverside and with Sellers, Lexington puts up 36 more on Liberty than Riverside.
  6. When he is the QB in what is essentially a single wing offense, he does make the team (not to mention 6 fumbles on the qb center exchange that night). They have some great running backs to go with Sellers but he is the catalyst for the entire offense. Without him, they score 13 on Riverside and with him they score 49 on Liberty. He makes a difference.
  7. What game did you see Lexington play? They have looked pretty good against everybody except Riverside and that game was without their QB.
  8. Riverside scored 6 points that night. What's your point about the D? Sellers was suspended, but he also starts at DB as well as QB and does a heckuva job at both. He had a 96 yard interception return against SS last Friday. So, yeah, it could have made a difference between 6 points and 0 points but we aren't complaining and will take the shorthanded W.
  9. What is the tiebreaker there for the "round robin" tie with all three teams having one loss to each other? Is there a specified tiebreaker or would the playoff seeding take over? Last year Lexington won the district and defeated Liberty late in the season only to be seeded behind Liberty when the playoffs started. Why would CC be 1st over Lexington and Liberty in a 3 way tie?
  10. I am a Tiger fan, but Liberty had over 100 yards rushing in the first quarter. Their first possession went 70+ yards. They put up 42 points so they had to move the ball quite a bit.
  11. Has a team ever won a district game 52-18 playing the sophomores for the 4th quarter fallen down in the polls before? GBR
  12. According to another thread, the AP Poll was just released and Greeneville is back to #1. Wonder if the Jackson Sun reporting on Lexington's "trouble with the strong rushing game of Southside" and reliance on turnovers affected the vote. I have never seen a 52-18 thumping poormouthed so much by a newspaper. Maybe the Big Red will have some motivation to attempt to reclaim that top spot.
  13. When did T.C.A. and Lexington play?
  14. I agree, White House, Creekwood and Greenbrier all three showed Lexington how you are supposed to play ball last year. How did those three do in the playoffs? I knew they crossed the river to play but I didn't see where they played the week after that.
  15. If you saw Lexington play, it must have been against Riverside because they have looked pretty good in the other games. The one thing you did not see during the Riverside game was #2. Lexington did not have their starting quarterback that game and put the ball on the ground 5 times during the QB-Center exchange. That combination of events can hurt you during a football game. This Friday night against Liberty is shaping up to be a great game and will let both teams know a lot when it is over. I don't know what is going to happen or make any predictions but I am excited. Coach Worth and the Tigers will probably start worrying about Chester County on October 1. They have a game every Friday night until then.
  16. I have a question and am not trying to pick a fight, but did White House or their band get lost on the way to the game tonight. I talked to someone who saw a Sumner County Sheriff car escorting two travel buses get off the interstate in Jackson and take 412 into Lexington from the West then the buses continued all the way through town not turning North on 22. We couldn't figure out how going from White House to Lexington would take you through Jackson. Go Big Red!!
  17. How else can a forward pass that hits the ground before being caught be called? Incomplete passes aren't "blown dead." The ball hits the ground and the play is over. It was an incomplete pass that was picked up and thrown.
  18. The bounce pass was a forward pass that I am sure was supposed to be a lateral or backwards. I am not sure if the bounce was planned or not. There was debate in our seats on whether is was supposed to be bounced and a lateral to throw off the defense and think it was incomplete to allow the completion. Nonetheless, it was an incomplete forward pass.
  19. That 284 White Street is a back road. If you are using GPS try using 400 N. Broad St., Lexington, TN. That is not the exact address but you will be within 50 yds of the school on the main highway.
  20. If you were on the field, you should remember that Cheatham County won the Game 48 - 20. Lexington was leading 20 - 0 as time ran down in the 2d quarter and Gerard Arnold (Former UM Tiger and Wash Redskin) was stripped of the ball and a linebacker scored to make it 20 - 8 after the two point conversion. Cheatham Co. and Jeremiah Ligon rolled off 40 more unanswered points to win 48 - 20.
  21. Lexington v. Huntingdon was an old time AA rivalry in the 70's and 80's. Huntingdon quit playing Lexington in the late 80's and 90's and avoided them until the down period in the late 90's and early 00's. Lindsey was probably repaying the favor and not allowing Huntingdon to capitalize on the Huge gate that playing Lexington brings. It got so bad in the early 90's that Lexington had to go to Alabama to find an opponent and ended up Playing middle TN schools like Page and Giles Co. When the most recent downturn popped up, everybody in West Tn. wanted the Tigers again. Oh yeah, Lexington wins this one by an Adomopolous field goal. Too much team Speed for the Tigers. Speed Kills.
