NO! They stink! MoWest was scoring with their 3rd and 4th teams in the forth quarter, against Jeff's starters. They only had around 55 total yards in the second half and 40 of that came on one run by McFall. They may not win a game! Unless they play TSD or somebody like. They had some of the worst play calling I've ever seen. They were lucky the score wasn't a lot worse than it was. Their terrible! Kingsport will beat them by 40. Sevierville by 30 and on, and on, and on. As far as rabbin, he's a winner! He got out of all that crap down there. If I had a choice of what school to go to...I also would pick West! I'd much rather play for a team that competes, than be on a team that may win two games. I used to love Jeff County; now their program stinks! Sorry, but the truth is the truth!!!!

I bet most Maryville fans can't stand you! Yes, we did get A (as in one player)from Jeff., and that was because of the coaching situtation there and all the junk going on. It's not like its a year in- year out thing every year. By the way, before you start your tunnel vision comments, we also received another player from Jeff this year; for the same reason. Who is the starter that pays tuition? and did Douglas relocate from another Knox school to come to the dynasty? The liar your referring to is the parent of a Maryville baseball player I met this summer. Why would he lie? Maybe he meant two or three players have transferred to Maryville. If some kids are transferring. R parents getting better jobs as stated in an earlier post. As I said earlier, Maryville is good and have a great program, except for idiots like you who have an understanding deficiency. I totally understand Maryville is an example of TEAM. How can you say it's totally equal for some schools to have open enrollment and others not. That's stupid! At this level, sometimes one player, depending on how good he is, can mean the difference. Litle alone 3-4 last year as you said!!! WOW, any highschool would love to get 3 or 4 good contributors to join their team. Look at last year, and for that matter, years past, at the state champions in football, baseball and basketball. Maryville, Alcoa, Riverdale and so-on...Football and baseball powerhouses... just good programs huh? To coincidental!!!! Is Farragut open enrollment also? You don't have to admit anything...but everyone knows the truth...about what helps programs to be great year in and year out. I guarantee you...if you were one of the schools that didn't have open enrollment and you got beat by the team that does, every year, you would be saying the same thing. I'm just tired of people like you saying it doesn't make a difference and that your program is better and your coaching is better and so on...THE BOTTOM LINE IS, IT'S NOT APPLES TO APPLES!!! MLREB, along the same lines, but not calling it recruiting, how many students play football at Maryville that are "out of zone" or tuition players? I heard the big dog Douglas is one, your starting QB is one and even the UT bound reciever is another. I may be wrong, that's what I was told! May be another rumor. Just out of curiosity, how many tuition players start for the dynasty? I love what GQ is doing a Maryville. He is a good coach and a winner. I just wish all schools had the same rules; I believe Maryville would still be a powerhouse because of the deciplined program they have. But, I also know if you put a Douglas and one or two other very good players on MoWest, Central, Halls or any of the "good" teams, it WOULD make a difference. You know as well as I, there aren't that many D-1 players in east tn, little alone more than one on any one team. I promise if MoWest had open enrollment and got just a couple of really good players (like a Douglas), we could play with anyone. Not dissing Maryville or anyone else! But MoWest has a class act just as good as anyone... I also know District 2 4A isn't as tough as District 3 or District 4. Coach Woods program is a step below no-one. He has decipline and respect from everyone. That's why we dress 90+ yearly on the varsity, the kids love him! I haven't done the research, but I would be willing to bet Coach Woods record is probably the second best in the state covering the last 5-6 years. Second to GQ of course. I just wish all schools had open enrollment or all did not. It's hard to compare apples to apples the way it is now. It really is not fair! As far as his tallent, you dont start at linebacker at a 5-A school with the tradition like J.C. has and not be any good, especially as a sophmore. The kid loves football, has heart and most important of all ... he has something to prove. And as far as his reception at Mo West, ALL the kids love him and can't wait to get on the field. He has worked extremely hard the last year to make himself a better football player. I promise he will make West a better team. Kudos to his family for doing whatever it takes to make him happy and finding him a good place to play. He will not find a better coach the Coach Woods anywhere and Coach Woods just loves the kid. Defense will be tough. Almost everyone returns. I know they were only scrimmages, but the first team D didn't give up any TD against S. South or Farragut, two pretty good teams. Offense will be ok, just have to prove themselves with a new qb. Running game should be ok, awesome fullback (will absolutely kill you), and very good, but young, tailbacks. Receiving group should be reliable with 3 starters returning. Our only question is the O line. If they come together and do a good job, we'll be ok. The D will have to carry us in the big games. Good Luck!!! The trip to the "boro" will still have to go thru Maryville untill proven otherwise!!! I hate to say it, but the facts speak for themselves. GQ has a very good program. Even though they do have an open enrollment! I hate that! But, that's the way it is...I believe we will see them again in the semi's. I'm not talking Districts...Region 2 includes District 3 (Maryville, Central, etc...) Disagree; If MoWest, Maryville, Central, Halls, Powell, OR, Farragut,and Ootlewah were all in the same conference last year, I believe Maryville wins the conference, maybe undefeated! The rest would be a dog fight! MoWest won their first 13 games and were better than the showing against Maryville. We didn't give them much of a game. They helped make us look bad, and took care of most opportuntities. OR was tough last year, no doubt, and would probably come in second place in that fantasy conference. By tha way, how r the vikings going to look this year?

Warning Post...... Farragut, OR, Clinton, DB .....Whoever represents the 5-A classification. You are dead wrong about Maryville. We (Morristown West) have been busting heads with the rebels for years in the playoffs. I believe we got them once a couple years ago. I trully believed we could beat them last year. Wow, was I wrong! Their tough! If anyone doesn't think these kids give it 100% and want to win the schrimages, your stupid. Especially the big games like Farr. and OR, MW and Farr. or whoever. These are statement games! I promise...Maryville will be just fine when they move to 5A! If Farr. is beating OR year in and year out in the scrimages, that should prove it! As far as the above quote,"OR, DB, Farragut, Otawah?cant spell, and even Soddy Daisy are better than every other 4A team. but to say that 5A is bad is just ignorant". The person who made the comment is "just ignorant". Just based on last year...Maryville handed it to us on our home field in the third round. And during the preseason we beat DB in a scrimmage at their place, we beat Jefferson County, we beat MoEast (5A last year). The truth is...in 2005 OR, Farr or any other 5A school (Region 1 or 2) could not have won Region 1 or 2 4A. If OR or Farr. either one was in Maryville's district they probablly would have finished third or lower. They would have finished no better than 4th or worse in Region 1 -2. District 1 5A IS weak!!! Either of you want Maryville in your district!!! I hate for Maryville to leave 4A because our kids look forward to playing Maryville year in year out in the playoffs. Its fun playing the best in the state! Regardless of class.

He is a tough coach... If you don't want your child playing for him, take him off the team. But just because 2-3 parents don't like it(hard nose style of play)....talk to him about it, don't go to the principle. This is the first incident of this nature. Most parents are upset about this suspension. Why, because the "butt-chewing" was told to the team, not singled-out individuals. It still goes back to whose kiddies went home and complained and whose kids wear pants and didn't let it bother them. I don't claim to be a lawyer or anything close, but is it not against the law to record conversation with the consent of the second party? I agree with earlier post; it sounds like a possible setup to me. It's pretty sad when aprox. 4 of the 15 parents on the team is what caused this. Repeat of earlier post....GROW UP!!!!!

He was suspended for a mistake on his part! There were a few parents offended by the way their children were treated in a chewing out session after the Trojans lost a game in Maryville last Friday nite (allowing the opposition to score 11 runs in the bottom the 7th inning to win 18-17). I understand a parent getting agravated by it, but if it were me, I would confront Coach Stansberry, not run to his superiors and cry. Be a man or lady and handle it like so...not like elementary kids running home to tell mom or dad somebody is mean to me. This is 2006, these are young men, so let them wear pants, not panties. In the "old school", kids were tougher and didn't rely on daddy to stand up for them. Hello, many kids back then had to quit school and help families work for a living. Days have changed, kids are softer! So have the parents obviously! This reminds me of the Jefferson County situtation last year in foorball. "Daddy, I not being treated fairly or someone is talking to me mean!" What's going to happen next year? I know FOR A FACT other coaches talk the same way to their teams. Maybe there needs to be an internal investigation on all coaches to make sure they are talking sweet. This just tells you who is mature and can handle adversity. I think this is total BS and there should be some parents apologizing to Coach Stansberry. There were MANY (almost all) parents that didn't even know Coach S. was suspended or there was a problem.
