I've been saying it all year. You dont see basketball IQ and heart on the stat sheet......but it will show up for Liberty tommorrow night. This team is young, and guess what they will be back next year. But their coach has been here before, he'sben to the boro as a player. Liberty wins and it is no upset. Anybody watching the games can easily say that Liberty plays with more heart and intensity than any team on the court. I bet the coach at Murray State is happy Evans already has his name in ink. With all the college scouts at this game, and with very few coaches having seen Evans to now, I think he may be getting some phone calls after tonights game.

I think every team has some fans like that..........I think you managed to convert the juker over to a green tiger though. I dont know a lot about the zoning laws in Jackson. But, it would seem to me that a magnet school that didnt have to go through Memphis to get to a state tournament would attract a lot of good 9th graders to the basketball program. Rebuilding might not be that hard for them as we might think.

Man I hate to tell ya......but Bolivar cannot win without Willie or Wayne. And.....I'm not knocking ya boys firefulmer and Prosushi, but it's true.

Firefulmer............do you ever go to bed? You remind me of that commercial they had about NBA championship last year. I think it was Rip Hamilton of the Pistions staying up all night tossing and turning.......worrried about that gold championship ball.

Are you kidding. You act as if Liberty would shy away from RE. Ever since they first suited up 3 years ago, they have played one of the toughest schedules in Tennessee. The coach and the AD have a great mentality when it comes to playing playoff calibur competition. What first year program opens up with the 2003 Northside team? Liberty's non district schedule is brutal. Look at baseball28's post up there, they have beat just about any team you call a power house in AA. If Liberty would have been in any other district last year they would have been in the state tournament last year. Just so happens the district they were in featured Bolivar and Humboldt. Liberty's young team beat Bolivar by 17 last year. If you seen the team Bolivar had on the court last year, you know not many teams were able to play with them let alon thump them like that. They also made Bolivar fans the quitest I've ever seen them when they jumped out to a 20 point lead on Bolivar in the first half a second round game of the region tournament last year. Of course Bolivar's big game experience came through for them and they shut Liberty down after that. This team is legit, always have been.

I think you're supposed to play good defense in that situation.

I dont think that anyboy thinks Mitchell and Haywood are underdogs. Bolivar and Liberty are both in our district so yeah, I'm going to pull for those guys because it makes the butt whippings we took from them all year seem a little better.

What reserve gets in the game and doesnt want to score? If a high school team can put up 90+ in a game either the other team didnt show up, or they were just on fire. Whats wrong with the last man off the bench firing up a 3 during a blow out, he's got to make the most out of those 3 minutes h's played all year.

Everybodys got about the same elite 8. So, I'm going to just put my finals picks out there.... Bolivar vs. Liberty. I've said it all year long and I'm not going to change now. Good Luck to both teams. Sorry baseballa28 but I think Bolivar wins the last 1 of the year.

Jermey Rhodes and Chris Reaves are going to be the next great 1's for B-Town. Rhodes is still growing and has nice range, when he gets a little more muscle to bully around on that inside, he'll be bringing the recruiters to the gym once agian.

You'd have to use a stronger word than explosive to describe Evans. He's such a strong kid you wouldnt think he would be so quick, it just amazes me. I said before the season even started that Boliavr and Liberty would be the 2 top teams not only in the district but in the region also. I also said that Brandon Evans could go for 30 anytime he wanted to. looks like he wants to now.....64 points in the last 2 games. I thought Bolivar would take this 1, but its not over for the Tigers. I might ride down to DL and then celebrate on 2nd ave. like I'm a Bolivar alum after the win. Good luck to both teams.....our district and region is well represented.

Donuts were gone before the game started. Jeff Griggs found some guy with 1 tooth to punch the holes out though, so the assembly line can now work doubletime to produce more donuts for tommorrow.

People are already up at the gym......I better get off coacht and get in gear.

Mitchell vs. Liberty will be the best game in the tournament. Both agressive teams with great athletes. My prediction if this match up does happen...... We will need 6 refs...the pace will be so fast that the first 3 will have to call tick tack fouls to slow the game down. Thus, having some come off the bench will be a plus and keep the flow going.

I think the ones doing all the talking are some young students at the schools. The players and the fans know better. I was sitting in front of some students from 1 school (not mentioning which 1 because its irrelevant) and they were bad mouthing the other team the whole game. But I was siting behind and beside adult fans from the other school and they never said anything negative. These kids that were talking the whole time had to be freshman and sophmores. 3 rows down from me were older students from the same school and they never got animated at all. The internet its avaliable to all ages, I think the negative comments, specifically ones from people with 1 or 2 post are from young students. Not student athletes. But more importantly its like Coach Dexter Williams said....If this is going to be a rivalry.....Liberty has to win 1. Until then its should be considered just another game by the Green Tigers. BTW.... Bolivar 71 Liberty 60 The whole team has geled, its over for the everybody in B-Towns way.

In my opinion this thread should now be closed. Its not going to get back on the topic of basketball anytime soon. Irvin was not a central part to Liberty's team, he's only played in 3 games for the Crusaders and if you havent noticed...they are doing just fine without him. And plus, lets not forget....he is innocent until proven guilty. T

You'd have a huge post if you tried to name every good ball player from Bolivar....or Harderman County for that matter. I dont know whats in the water in that county, but Bolivar and Middleton put out good or great teams every year.

I've been telling people all year about how Bolivar travels. They fully suport their basketball team....where ever Bolivar plays you are going to see a sea green. And it will still be that way after Willie and Wayne leave.
