  1. I could be wrong. Are the brackets up? Where ?
  2. Pigeon Forge Alcoa Greeneville Notre Dame Red Bank Page Greenbrier Stratford
  3. Just want to compliment the Alcoa coaches for taking the opportunity to put six mats in the football stadium. Wrestling in sunny 70 degree weather with the Smokies in the background. It will be a lasting memory for all the wrestlers involved.
  4. Actually, the 120 from Gordon Lee beat the 120 from ND in December.
  5. Well, I try to stay out of these kinds of discussions, and will state that this is a subjective award and as much doesn't really mean much to the boys involved. But you are wrong on three counts with both your statements and assumptions. First, he is talking about the 152 lb weight class. Second, The 152 for ND had a single loss which he avenged in the state final, and Patton had 15 losses (they are both state champs which is all that really matters), but the difference in competition is a questionable equalizer. Third, which workout partner did Patton have that is a better workout than the workout partner Bankston had? I agree facts are facts. You are citing your own opinions.
  6. They do go by the regular season, but Saturday there was a wrestle off between ND, Central and East Ridge for their region because of a 3 way tie.
  7. Red Bank is in Hixson's region. EFT is in the region with Central and East Ridge.Red Bank does have a fine team, but they lost a close one to Hixson.
  8. have you updated them or something?

  10. I am not complaining. I think that the process is that they separate CAK and Knox Catholic and separate ND and CCS and then draw the rest. My theory is that someone says hey ND and Knox Catholic played in the semis last year and CAK and CCS, so they switch it up (perfectly logical). What then results is is that you are only drawing which teams plays CAK, KC, ND, and CCS which makes perfect sense to me. However, I would argue that that is effectively seeding the tournament based on last year's outcome and not a true blind draw.
  11. That has to be the earliest that the brackets have been posted. Also, raise your hand if you think that was a blind draw.
  12. Mike, nobody was crowing about anything. Somebody paid a compliment and then Refton went off like he was having a nicotine fit which caused some people to stick up for their kids. Read the first post in the thread that wasn't a parent of one of the wrestlers or one of the wrestlers. Just let it die we have all seen the Dan Gable biography. We all know that Cael is from Utah.
  13. Ok let's talk about it. For starters Hudgins at 106 is topnotch in my opinion he was one of the best at 106. At 113 well he placed last year and he beat the 2nd and 4th in AAA so he is in. Then at 126 Boatman has been to the finals before so he is legit and the same applies at 132. Ok that is 4, not 3 or 4 but 4. Now Sammy is five, any debate on him? Shelton would have placed (pretty high) and Presley probably places too. Have to figure pigeon forge would have placed more than just hudgins. So I think you're numbers are way off. There are many others like Kieta, Bankston etc. My point about faith, education, and family was that I don't think wrestling in AAA is a good enough reason to pull a kid out of one school and send them to another as tnref suggested. I would love to see one state. Then we could debate which one of the Tennessee kids could win in Iowa or Oklahoma instead of the obligatory my division is better than yours argument.
  14. Maybe you are placing a little too much importance on wrestling there ref. Education, faith and family are more important to my boys. They didn't get a vote but their coach voted against the split and lost. Everybody with a brain knows that things are a little watered down, with the split but it is watered down for all three divisions. The kids have nothing to do with it. They are going to enjoy winning the only state championship that the TSSAA allowed them to win, and I promise they don't care what some fifty something year old man thinks about the validity of their efforts.
  15. 1. If the designated onsite doc says he has an active cold sore that has not been treated then she can overrule a doctor's note. So being prepared might have discouraged the on site doc from an over diagnosis but it wouldn't have trumped the on site call. 2. I would take my kid to a lab and check hsv1/2 antibodies for IgG and IgM and if it was negative I would repeat it in 6 weeks if that is negative then the diagnosis was wrong. If it is positive it could have been correct but not necessarily.
  16. But that would make sense. In all fairness they can't set up a bracket in any sport.
  17. add Dotson and L Mullin at 113 to the list. ND has 5 going
  18. It is hard to think about James without smiling. He had a bright spirit that just took over a room. As an elementary schooler it was inspiring to watch him wrestle at ND. And to be a little kid around James was great because he would make a big production of rolling around the mats with you and acting like he was actually getting taken down. Then my sister took me to the school play where he did a scene that I remember to this day. It was a comic skit where he played a guy in front of a firing squad and parlayed his last request into being able to command the squad one last time and marched them out of the room. That still makes me smile. Later he would come to our matches and that made us proud to show him that we were trying to carry on the tradition. Many years later the eyes of an entirely different generation of wrestlers would light up when he was around. He will be missed.
  19. Dude, we dismissed it as whining when we saw your screen name. If you want us to consider your argument you might want to change your screen name to "please do not dismiss as whining".
  20. My son just said this, "You know what's funny dad? Notre Dame beat East Ridge, East Ridge beat Polk County, Polk County beat Bradley Central, and Bradley Central beat Signal Mountain."
  21. No it is a natural high that occurs when you have the privilege of seeing Signal lose.
