  1. Are you given anything for that regular season "championship"? Are you announced at regions, substates, or state as District 11AA Champs? No sir. It is not like college. If you do not win the tournament you did not win the district. You guys have had a good season, but 2012 champions are Harpeth and Waverly in girls.
  2. sorry, it does not work that way. Harpeth is the Boys District Champs, and Waverly is the Girls District Champs. They are the only ones who gets Championship plaques. Regular season is for seeding only!
  3. Honestly, East is very averaged sized, the qb is young and a decent passer, the line is average to below average, Waverly made numerous mistakes and the game was still never in doubt, it could have easily been 42 to 0, east had a couple of nice drives that fizzled because they have no true running game and they do not have a strong o line, they are very good at running screens and bubble screens, the biggest problem is east probably has less team speed than any 3a team (or 2a in the old classification) i have seen in many years, Waverly absolutely housed for touchdowns of over 80 yards because they are slowwwwww! I have no idea who east plays the rest of the year, but they play hard they just do not have a lot of talent. I would say three wins for them should be seen as a good year.
  4. Not Correct, I know Waverly is scheduled to play Montgomery Central Tomorrow, also 2 through 5 is not set at this point.
  5. Waverly sweeps Stewart by twin 9 to 0 scores. Purcell and Phillips combine to throw a one hitter. Yoder pitches a complete game two hitter in the opener.
  6. no he is not hatin' but he is questioning one of his fellow coaches handling of one of his pitchers in a public forum (again unprofessional) class (or the lack of it) shows up in many ways.
  7. Purcell threw 130 and I will trust Coach Cash's Opinion thanks over what i saw out of the Harpeth Coaching Staff, very unprofessional spending most of the night berating the umpires, second year in a row I have witnessed this (reminds me of a youth league coach) Purcell is handled very careful as we will see him pitching at the next level.
  8. Waverly won over Harpeth 42 to 23 the score on coacht is incorrect. Good Luck to all 11 AA teams Friday
  9. No No I dont know how the region matchups will play out. I was just saying that Waverly and Harpeth are actually both tied right now. Nothing more.
  10. Actually Waverly and Harpeth are tied in first and if things stopped today Waverly has the tiebreak on their side (althought that could change).
  11. Add Waverly's Kati Prince signed today with Blue Mountain College.
  12. Wow, this thread has gotten ugly! Where to start, Tony the Tiger it is easy to hide behind a message board name, you obviously have issues with the Waverly program. Have you tried speaking to Coach Graves about any of this? I am going to guess not. Coach Graves is probably one of the most approachable people I know, but my guess is you are like a lot of parents at a lot of schools, saying one thing to the coach and them ripping him apart behind his back. So do us all a favor and either tell us exactly who you are so we can let Coach Graves know your concerns or speak to the Coach yourself. And Hey, be sure and let us know which you plan on doing. lol Now for CCub8, well now it is hard to take anyone serious who not only hides behind a name, but hides behind a name pretending to be from another school. Lol, I do not know if you are a coward or if got a man crush on the Cubs. I certainly hope you are not who these folks are saying you are, I taught that young man in High School a few years ago, I sure would be disappointed in him if CCub8 was him. Now, this arguement about success in junior pro and junior high. Well it reminds me of my hometown high school (yeah I am a transplant to Wavery) they make the same complaint every year. You know the one about "But we won it all in the Junior Pro and we dominated in Junior High". So this year they had enough of the coaching and went and hired them a head coach with college and pro (arena league) experience and a you not what there record is not a bit better than last year. So now they are all griping about this coach and how they just do not understand it, they had so much success in Jp and Junior High. Well here is the truth what you did when you were 12,13, and 14 against limited competition has nothing to do with how you will be when your are 16,17, and 18. Now there are lots of reasons for this, but I think Papa Tiger covered most of those. Now for the Tigers, right now they are 3 and 5. Ok, look at it this way, they are two plays away from being 5 and 3, and oh would you two be ripping the Coach then? I think not. Of course they are also a couple of plays away from being 2 and 6. So to be honest with you (and not looking at this through the parent glasses that blind a lot of folks) we are about where we should be. Change a couple of breaks and we beat Creekwood and Stewart, but change a couple of breaks and we lose to Hickman Co. So bottom line (and I know this will do no good for my friends Tony the Tigger and Cuddly Cub 8) we are about what we are, a team that with a break or two could be .500. We have a coaching staff who cares about the kids, works with them, and seems to me the kids play hard for. Seems to me that we really should be thankful for what we have, but then again I not delusional nor bitter because my kid sits the bench. So how about we come to the games encourage the boys, tell them how proud we are of there efforts, thank the coaches for their efforts, and let the boys know we are glad they have these men coaching them.
  13. I would disagree. the officials last night were not very good. Having said that let me also say that for several years now football officiating in Western Middle Tennessee has been very very bad. I do not believe there was intentional cheating, just inability to call a proper game. There were bad calls for both teams. However, I think it is valid to say that the calls that were blown definitely hurt Waverly more. The pass interference penalty against number 3 was bizarre, a great effort by Will while being grabbed by the jersey by the defender and it is called offensive pass interference. This would have gotten the Tigers out from the shadow of their own end zone and a safety would not have happened. The personal foul against #55 while diving for a fumble was a bad call that would have put Stewart in a deep hole on third down. (I really feel the head referee had become angered by all the complaining of poor calls and simply over reacted based on the anger with which he threw the flag down) and finally the touchdown run by Stewart county saw a blantant block in the back to spring the runner. The side judge simply swallowed his flag, but he refused to call anything all night, again I do not think it was cheating just lack of ability of the officials. In a game that is this close blown calls are going to sway things and last night that happened. I do feel having watched several of these officials before that they are in over their head and should be sidelined for a while, but I know that will not happen. Finally, PTC, now for you to say that you thought it was a well called game, I do not believe that. In your coaching days I believe you would have been more than a little upset with last night officiating ( as would I) as matter of fact I think I have witnessed some of that. LOL
  14. Needless to say your offspring sits the bench, huh!
  15. Contracts are for 2 years. Odds are not good for a new contract.
  16. My link if you read this update on the subject it plainly says the bbcor standard goes in effect 2012. They are banning composite barreled bats now, but only composite bats.
  17. Ladies and gentlemen we have another winner!
  18. Maybe parents have something to do with it. We Have a Winner!!!!
  19. Sorry, my bad I got that corrected.
  20. All Region Team: Kati Prince-Waverly Kelsey Wright-Hickman County Amanda Brandenburg-Camden Heather Capps-Camden Kenley Crowell-Lewis County Jacie Hinson-Lewis County Jessica Hinson-Lewis County Region MVP
  21. All girls 11AA games canceled for tonight, both boys and girls first round games will be played wednesday night.
  22. No, the options on the Waverly-Cheatham game are Saturday Night and tomorrow, monday is not an option.
  23. The answer to me is clear. Take the districts as they are now. Have three classes, do not split to six, top four make the playoffs. Top four in each district or region whatever you which to call it, then play companion district. District one plays two etc. This can be done without any major re-alignment, two year contracts would still be in place. Schools would play same teams in all major sports, thus rivalries would be in place. Tennessee needs three state champs not six, quit watering it down and over complicating things. This worked for years in Tennessee and should never have been changed.
