  1. I will tell you why Coach Wright would leave. Those small college don't pay well and there are several internal obstacles to deal with (e.i. budgets, lack of scholarships and increased tuition). Coach Wright will do well and either school will flourish with him.
  2. Word is the flood have slowed down the process, but I understand its a great job and there has been great applicants.
  3. Vaught may not even be the best player on her team now that the transfer from heritage is in...I'm not great with names but I'm pretty sure that Taylor Hall of Mo. West may top the list Madison Lee out of McMinn Central is a fine player Sidney Goins (Mo. West) Shannon Depew (Cocke Co.) Dequesha McClanahan Kelly Smith (Mo. West) the Kyle kid from Jeff county is very athletic but the best kid around has to be the point from Webb M. Butler just a few thoughts:)
  4. I believe the salary will be between 83,000 and 88,000...trust me I would love to make that kind of money! Not sure what football makes? But I do know that the salary for some top assistant in the SEC will be 50,000 more. Im sure they can not generate the funds for a big name Im reaistic but there are very good coaches still available from what I understand Tech will get a good one!
  5. Its obvious we don't have the depth of talent as perhaps a heavily populated state like Texas, but I will say pound for pound TN basketball is strong from the west all the way to the east as any state in the union. This is evident by the various scholarship players from a smaller state.
  6. 60-70 applicants is not a huge number considering the quality job that it is. It was not long ago that Worrell made this a great spot. There were very few DI head coaching vacancy this year...you would think more would have come after this job although the pay is not great. The OVC is a great league and I hope for us Tech fans that they get it right. From what I have heard and it is strictly second hand not a primary source is that they have narrowed it down to a final four and interviewed are to start this week. If the pay was more they could have perhaps attracted a top SEC assistant or a big name.
  7. I really never heard of a recruit committing to an assistant especially assistants that in all likelyhood will be gone after a head coach is hired. A new coach will certainly want to bring in his or her own staff...I would think you would not keep staff members on board that didn't get the job done under Coach Brown. But then again a new coach may be forced to keep the current staff (not a situation many new coaches will embrace). Again, very slow process indeed if it takes two months i guess they are trying to save money!
  8. Aug. 31st seems like along time off since Coach Brown resigned July 1. That would be a two month hiring process...sounds like a problem with high school kids like Leonard committing to MTSU and Heady still in the balance. Seems like they would want to get this completed...UT Martin didn't take nearly as long and I see their staff out grinding the recruiting stone. Best of luck to who gets the job but they will be behind on the recruiting board.
  9. Congrats to the kid I am proud of those numbers. It is often said coaches do not do enough to help their players and now this coach gets hammered for it. College coaches love kids that throw up number this could be the attention getter this kid needs to secure her future. I've been told she is making a college visit this weekend to an outstanding program that is on the rise. I hope they offer and I hope she accepts!
  10. Check with the Tennessee Lady Tigers based out of Nashville
  11. What about the assistant at Marshall County...Coach West is a talented guy and a state champion...or may be lure in one of the area college coaches...just a thought if they were serious.
  12. Great line up so far..it should be great basketball...I heard they will close it when twelve teams committ Hickman County Richland High School Marshall County Cornersville High School Loretto High School Ardmore High School (AL) Athens High School (AL) Smyrna High School Lawrence County (one game only)
  13. Martin Methodist College still has a few opening in their 2008 Girl's Thanksgiving Classic (2 games). Hurry!!! Only a few spots left!!! Contact Coach Dee Bell if you are interested 931-363-9829
  14. As long as GQ and company stay in place the dynasty remains.
  15. The entire Maryville Nation relies on the 3-4 turnovers that Helton provides. We all hope that he plays!
