  1. Sorry momwildcat - I know who your husband is and he is relatively harmless, actually kinda funny at the games. I should have been more clear, I hate the loudmouth fans who use foul language when yelling at refs/coaches/players. I don't think your husband uses that type of language. I also did not mean to imply you or your husband had anything to do with Coach McCoin leaving. However, what makes me sick is to see a parent holding their child and cussing, not called for!
  2. Bad languagae! Have you sat in the stands lately? The loud mouths yelling at the refs when we are down 49-0. It is amazing that one successful year can ruin a town's success. Coach McCoin was given an impossible job in following up the state championship. He deserves more! In the online article at the Overton County News, he praised all the kids and was gracious in stepping down.
  3. If Tyner wants to ensure a victory, just have them slap a LA on their helmet and yell HOGEYE a few times. York can't seem to beat LA even tho' LA lost every other game this season.
  4. I see Carter running away with this one. Carter 48 Kingston 21
  5. No - bottomline is - York lost the game!
  6. Is it possible to say Knox Catholic is getting better - scary but true. Another state champ from this region!
  7. Livingston is playing much better with Levi Holt at quarterback. He brings this team to another level (also doing punting). Austin East is a proud school with a lot of tradition and they will be looking forward to some revenge, but with an injured starting quarterback - it won't be the blowout many will predict. LA keeps this close! (and maybe wins?!)
  8. Come on. Let's give credit where it is due. The boys played great on both sides. You can ask fans from either side about the refs - I heard our fans hollering just as much - which is amusing to say the least. You need to check out the thread regarding what we hate most about HS sports - parents/fans complaining about refs is way up there!
  9. Good job LA! One of the toughest schedules in the state finally pays off and sends York back up 52!
  10. Momwildcat - I don't know Robert from any other player. But lets remember that while I am certainly not 18 years old and hopefully you are not 18 years old (since your a Mom), that those players are BOYS. They will talk and your son certainly wouldn't want to be the kid whose Mom had to take up his fight. If your son or any other player have issues with a player they should go to that player. You and I are fans, we want one thing - for the kids to be safe and have fun - winning and losing is a side product. Let's put our energy into cheering for LA against York this week. Go Hogeye!
  11. How dare you make that statement about a young man who has given everything to this team, win or lose. Preseason all state DOES mean something, I hope your son has the chance someday to experience the pride and joy in that distinction. It means for the last 4 years he is worked his butt off for this team. It means his family has provided and given up a lot to earn that. It means that he has proven to those outside this community that there is something more than a Wilson Cates (take nothing away from that young man). Everything I have heard since LA won State was they were going nowhere without Cates - with fans like you spouting negative words against young men giving their all - maybe they won't. If you truly do believe in LA then cheer for LA - cheer for all Wildcats and celebrate the small victories. It may be what we have this year. But first and foremost show your pride as a parent and fan and celebrate all young people who compete. They don't need people in their own backyard telling them they don't have heart or haven't shown how to be a TEAM. Go HOGEYE!
  12. We have some tremendous athletes on LA. They may not play the skilled positions, but Robert Holt (#70 OL) was preseason all state in 3A.
  13. I saw that #5 Levis Holt dressed out for the Station Camp game. Any word on whether he will start or at least play this week. But all be careful what they do this year. can't wait to see Brannon McCoin when he is a junior and senior, with his Dad leading him and the rest of the underclassmen should give all a run for the money.
  14. That is the key momwildcat - win or lose be in the stands cheering for this team. What a wealth of good tidings this team brought to the community last year. I'm not talking about winning a championship but how they conducted themselves week in and week out. Humble in victory and humble in defeat - a lesson to be learned for all. They know they are going out each week with a bullseye on their back - they will conduct themselves as champions with or without a ring.
  15. Livingston was outmanned last week at Kingston. That being said, Kingston didn't show much, LA had one 1st down (yep - just 1) the whole game and you only scored 3 times? Rockwood by 8.
  16. You are so excited to join CoachT that you forget your wife's first name begins with a T and not an M and have to suffer that login forever cuz you don't want to give up your posts!
  17. While I agree they should get a look, a loss doesn't necessarily take one out of consideration. Especially when you play in the tough Region 2 like Notre Dame. Station Camp has a chance at AAA State Champs this week - hopefully LA will garner some respect with a good showing.
  18. AMEN. This is ridiculous. And don't you know that I wear a sign to every game that says "If you sit or stand behind me - Please be the most obnoxious person here today!" And don't get me started on how blind the refs are to these people. OFFSIDES! HOLDING! Get a whistle and your 300 lb. butt out of the stands and go call a game!
  19. Region 2 is consistently the toughest in the State. Not sure anyone is going to go undefeated in that region. Remember a 5-5 team won State last year, so going undefeated may be a bit overachieving in the toughest region in the state.
  20. That's right momwildcat. We need fans there whether they win or lose or road or home. They have some seniors but an inexperienced team overall and will start to gel and than watch out. Give them a weel or two. McCoin will get it going once the offense play calling loosens up.
  21. Yep, Levi Holt takes over and will be passing behind a huge o-line. Their center is 6'5'' and 285. That's a hoss! Robert Holt - not related to Levi tho. They will miss Cates' leadership but with a team like LA - all classes compete at varsity level and so leadership will be plentiful.
  22. Livingston Academy - 2005 State Champs Robert Holt, 6'5", 285 lb. center - opened wholes for Cates and rest of running backs
  23. Lord I certainly don't want to get in the middle of all this bravado but they technically could not have offered you money off the FAFSA after your junior season. See, the FAFSA is an annual form and cannot be submitted prior to January 1 prior to your freshman year in college. Which means, you would be in violation, more than that CN would be in violation, of so many federal regulations they would lose all athletic scholarships. I know CN staff and that is not possible!
