  1. Blah blah blah blah yadda yadda yadda. You make no sense what so ever. York played a good game my hats off to them. What more can I say. I never made no predictions especially a team of York's caliber. They are just ranked in the top 5 in the state in 2A. And I thought that Livingston hung in there pretty good with them. If some of our kids had knocked some heads on certain plays Livingston could have won that game. It's that simple. We just rolled over and let York have their way on certain plays. On several plays we stuff it pretty good like your supposed to do. That was the difference especially early in the game. If Livingston will come out and play from the start in their remaining games like they did the 2nd half of the York game that will definitely be in the game. Anything short of that and it could get embarrassing. It's up to the players.
  2. I've got the answer to your question idgit. Do you see anywhere in my post that I said LA would not win. I said they may not win. Big difference. But I know we are more physical than your Dragons. I guess time will tell about that. Speaking of getting cheated (you spot it you got it). I don't recall of anybody ever getting cheated at LA. It's always the other way around. Last week against Catholic you would swear that they were the home team. We never got one call that went our way. So don't start your crying before the game starts. Has York ever been cheated down here I can't remember. Oh I take that back they cheated themselves in 06. Dropped 2 pt conversion and QB falls on 4th down now I remember. /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />
  3. I feel like the Cats are going to beat the fire out of the Dragons. They may not win but they are going to knock some heads tonight. Strap it on tight boys and leave it on the field. GO HOG-EYE PUT A PUMP KNOT ON THEIR HEADS.
  4. You must be crazy. There's no way York wins by that much if they even win.
  5. Hang in there Bill............. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  6. Coach you are right on the money with everything except the teams that are playing. Could be a possibility next week. I'm sure Catholic and Fulton are expected to win by just about everyone, but AE and AC are very much capable of winning !! /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />
  7. I agree. The people of Smith Co. really supports their football program. Not only is the coaching staff committed, but they are among the state's best IMO. These are no doubt two key ingredients in having a successful program. Of course it always helps to have some talent ! Coach Maynord has really brought this community together with all the hard work he has done on and off the field. His football teams are among the best every year and this year is no exception. As Principal, he has directed Smith Co. High among the elite in the state. Coach Maynord has built a strong foundation in sports and academics for this community that will last long after he retires. I'm sure that he would be the first to tell you that he didn't do it alone. He has had great support from his staff on the field, in the classroom and as well in the community.
  8. Thanks and good luck Friday. I hope to attend the next game between the winner of York and Smith. I have heard that DCA is a good team. Maybe they can win and I can watch them play. I'm sure Tyner would like to win and see York win so they could redeem themselves from last year's game. Again thanx and good luck.
  9. worden55 can you tell me if DCA is the old Dupont H.S. !!! I remember watching them play back in the middle 70's.
  10. Athlete's of AE against the Discipline of Catholic. The Irish in a close one.
  11. This should be a great game. Emotions will be running sky high on both sides. Everyone knows that it's hard to beat the Dragons on the mountain. But I have to give the edge to Smith Co. because of the play-off experience that their program has had since coach Maynord arrived. Beating Boyd last week was no easy chore. Boyd has one of the best programs in the state and it was a huge win for the Owls. Not taking anything away from the Dragons because they have a fine team as well, but I think that Smith Co. has a big advantage in coaching and play-off experience. The winner of this game host Tyner or DCA winner. So there is a lot riding on this one. Good luck to both teams and let it be an injury free game.
  12. I was one of the earlier posters there croz. But I'm not a Dawg faithful but a football fan I am. What do yu want to hear that GV is going to win by 40. Like I said earlier the Dawgs have had the athlete's but no coaching. Since Brown has came on the scene Clay Co. has played some real football. Will they beat you all .....probably not but you all better be ready for a game because the Dawgs are not the same team you have seen in the past 3 or 4 yrs. The Clay program is on the rise and I think coach Brown should be seriously considered for coach of the year honors. As should Monterey's and Watertown's coaches.
  13. Hey bubblegum surely the Cats aren't that big of a underdog!!! I agree with most that York has a fine team, but I don't think the Cats will just lay down for them do you ???? I mean this is York-LA week. And when these two teams get together anything can happen. I believe the opponents the Cats have faced vs. York's will be an edge for the Cats. We'll see how that plays out I guess. Go Hogeye
  14. Well I don't guess you have to read or respond to any of this. But I enjoy talking football. After all this was a big step for Clay Co. players ..fans and coaches. Back in the day Celina football was always among the best around. For the past few years their program has dropped off tremendously. I hate it for you that Clay Co. didn't lay down to the almighty FCS program that you think is so grand. BTW I'm sure the people of Clay Co. that are around football really appreciates the great compliment you gave them. Yeah Yeah everybody in the Region knows that Clay Co. is not a mercy rule team. Blah Blah Blah Just like this post Hip Hip Hooray and all that crap ...I wish Clay Co. had beat yo uall just because of fans like you.
  15. That's what happens when you stick ( HIT ) people with the ball. They want to crawl up under a rock. Rickaway is a great runner..but he's like most if you hit them they shy away. While watching the replay Clay Co. DEE was popping him pretty good and he wasn't running it up in there like he normally would. I made a comment about coach Brown going for it on 4th down in an earlier post. It was no doubt a gutsy call. But I think he figured if I punt it FCS gets it on his 30 or it could have been blocked or whatever if we don't make it what's 20 yards. After all the DEE is popping them pretty good. But what if they make the first down. Momentum stays with Clay. That's just my evaluation..and I am in no way an a authority on football...but I was just trying to figure his logic which I think is right on. What did Clay Co. have to lose. They wasn't even supposed to be in the game especially the way FCS beat them in previous years. You couldn't have caught them at a better time coach but the news spreads fast. TC..Watertown..GV..and Monterey won't get caght with their britches down. But what else is new I'm sure you have been there and done that before. Good Luck to you and the players.
  16. Pull all you want but I don't have the answers. I do have plenty of opinions ...but you know what they say about them. I thought that you were making the assumption that since the Dawgs were pounded the last few years that it would pretty much be the same this year. Sort of like FCS did last week. WAKE UP ...Clay Co. has what they call a football coach. Do you know what one of those are. I know you and the last coach were sort of good friends...maybe you and the new one can become even closer.
  17. No you didn't but I yanked yours. After all you were one of the first I noticed to slice the Dawgs up by saying the record won't change much. Try not to be so positive next time in your predictions. Maybe Clay has found a good coach that knows how to win. He didn't win last week but the Dawgs improved 300%
  18. Volzchump...TNDeveloper...Pujo....Orangecrush....whoever you are today that's pretty funnyright there...I don't care who you are. Make fun of LA all you want if it helps you get past all this. Why throw LA in this is beyond me. But now you throw RBS...and MJCA into the mix. Glad to know all FCS fans aren't like you guys. Disect LA all you want to your not going to find out anything we don't already know. All I can say is that you don't hear me crying and making excuses like you and your co-horts have after a game. BTW the game was at LA and Kingston just kicked our tails good. But I would like to think that the shoe will be on the other foot in the near future. LA's next game will be at Knox Catholic the no. 1 team in the state. Pretty much the same results from Friday night. Then YAI ..Austin East..Scott Co. ..AC ..Stone..and close out with Fulton. Have you possumtowners ever heard of Knox Fulton. So yes 1 win in the last 13 is not to surprising. But our kids just keep fighting and competing. Good luck to FCS hope they can win a gold ball. I was just excited for a group of kids from Clay Co. that don't have much in way of material things going against a 1A powerhouse like FCS that has everything for it's athlete's. Sorry if you fans took that any other way. It was like David vs. Goliath. I'll see what I can do there Volzchump about getting our coach to schedule FCS or even scrimmage them next fall. After all surely you guys can beat LA everybody else has.
  19. Volzchump............I believe that's how your neighbors from the east refer to you. Yes LA has a very young team. They also have played the hardest schedule the past 2 years than all the 3A teams in the entire state. And it pretty much seems to be the same ole tune this year. I wish your team played this schedule ......then we would see just how good you all are. Don't down grade LA just because you almost got your tails beat by a team you beat by a score of 118 to 6 the past 2 years. As for playing those teams like TC. We all know much tradition they have had over the last 40 years or so. Even when they moved up to 3A they competed with the bigs and won. So they have always fielded good teams thru out the years. We'll see how well you fair with them. Also GV called wanting to scrimmage after White Co. canceled. We'll see how well you fair with them. And the best for last Smith Co. Why don't you all play them ?? I believe they would take you guys to the wood shed for a good whipping. But we will never find out will we. I wish you all would make up some more excuses why you played so bad at Clay Co. That has to be the funniest thing I have ever heard.... here'sa school that has access to the best things you could offer an athlete ....and last year winning the Silver with most of the main players back...whining about this and that playing against a school with 30 or less players...with only 3 coaches and should have got beat. Ponder on this for a minute.....it wasn't that you lost so many players from last year...that 2/3 of your back field didn't play or that you beat this same school 76 to 6 just last year.....I believe that it was the new coach and how he got his kids believing that they could actually win. Know that's is football to me. Sort of reminds me of the Movie Hoosiers!!! Give those kids and their coaches some respect ...I believe they earned it don'r you.
  20. So what's your point !!!! Do you win if you have the most yards or more points ? You just said for yourself that Clay Co. caused the mis q's by FCS. I don't consider that luck myself. That's what you call making plays. Clay Co. just didn't make enough of them. Clay Co. scrimmaged LA back in the early part of the year and each team ran 10 plays. 9 of those plays LA smashed their mouth's pretty good but on the 10th play the QB hit his receiver for a TD. So having the most yards means nothing. Making plays and scoring points is how you win. And FCS finally did in the later part of the game. Did you see the game ? I did. And if Clay's DE's hadn't of squeezed down on 2 QB bootlegs......they probably win the game.
  21. Muffin how do you like your CROW. Coach Brown is the real deal. He's been around the block a time or 2. This years team will win more games than the last 2 or 3 combined. The worst they should finish is 5 and 5.
  22. I met John 2 yeras ago when he was an 8th grader. He is a fine young man and I wish him the best. As for the 25 points you speak of....several people from Clay Co. told me that they thought they could beat FCS which I thought was pretty funny but low and behold they knew what they were talking about. Like I said 2 or 3 plays was the difference. The one that comes to mind was when Clay went for the first down on their own 10 yard line and came away empty. I thought it was a very gutsy call by coach Brown but I'm sure he thought he could make it. Of course you didn't know that since you were probably in your dorm room getting ready for sat UT and Southern Miss. All you heard from someone was that you had 6 turnovers but Clay Co. caused a few of those. Like I said Friendship was very lucky to get out with a win.
  23. It's good to see somebody from FCS give the Dawgs their props. I think the Dawgs should be proud of their effort against one of class A best teams. Coach Brown should be commended for getting his players to believe in his system and believe that they can play with the state's best teams. I still believe that they have a shot at the play-offs if they can stay healthy.
  24. Nobody said anything about Clay making the play-offs. I was just saying for 3 and a half quarters the Dawgs stuffed your running game up your nose. Rickaway finally broke a long one. You have to expect that from a back as good as him. What's wrong with John Markham... I thiught he was the heir apparent when Rickaway graduates. Like I said you all got the WAKE -UP CALL that might help you guys get that gold ball. Don't never under estimate your opponent. I mean come on you guys never thought that you would be in a game with Clay Co. after the way you handled them in the past. If you didn't then I feel sorry for you because somebody will hit that TARGET that's on you back.
  25. I don't want to get in a spitting contest with you FCS fans but you all are the ones that got lucky. Apparently your team came in here thinking that it was going to be like it has been the last few years. Seems to me you came to a gun fight carring a knife. Lucky for you the Dawgs ran out of bullets.
