We are glad Ellis is here. Bad moves were made, but there are several players missing from Harpeth blue and this will be devastating to the team for a couple years. We are struggling right now, but we will find our rhythm soon.

How are the preseason scrimmages going for everyone?

Creek Wood still has scoring, and is only missing 2 players. Harpeth is missing their top 4 players which probably accounted for 95% of their scoring. Harpeth will have a hard time scoring in the 40's. What player at Harpeth that is still playing even scored double digits last year? We can also compare the JV teams and middle school programs as far as who is going to replace each player.

If he is smart he will get out, it could be ugly this year.

Here is my preseason breakdown: 1. Cheatham- Hunter is an extremely seasoned player that has the complete package this coupled with a very strong junior class and the best coach in the district Cheatham may go undefeated in district play. Cheatham is the only team that may win a region game this year. 2. Sycamore-Krantz has not quit. The team has a fair amount of experience and decent coaching. The younger players will get better as season goes on look for Sycamore to finish 2nd or 3rd. 3. Creek Wood- 2nd best coach in district, lost some key players, but attitudes should be better. Major factor is if point guard will come back and play or will she focus on track? Point present 2nd or 3rd, no point 3rd or 4th. 4. Waverly- graduated one player, has a ton of experience on team, post play will be questionable. If this team does not finish in the top 5 it is because of coaching, which is a possibility. 5. Fairview- solid players, team lacks point guard, but is well coached, could be the spoiler come tournament time 6. Montgomery Central- lost a couple of key players, I question their work ethic (off season) and mental toughness. 7. Harpeth- Flippo tore acl late august, surgery was at best early Sept, heard recovery was going well, at best 5 month recovery time thats early Feb. No one besides the Freshman can help this team. May finish in 8th? 8. Stewart Co.- The Bramletts can focus on this team with no other coaching responibilities this year. if they finish above 8th it is because of coaching.

I can't believe this is really Coach Johnson. Go back and look at his quotes on his profile, if this is him he has alot of explaining to do. He flat misrepresented who he was, and really defended who he was as another person. On another note Harpeth was the best team in the district, as well as Mandy the best player, congrats to Salem for signing with APSU. Coach Johnson if you are aj1133 you should be ashamed. I hope you can handle it.

Junkins is honest and successful. Those are two terms in coaching that do not come along very often. My father has known him for over 20 years, and went to church with him for several years when he lived in Pleasant View. He worked very hard for the Pleasant View athletic association, and was my brother's vacation bible school teacher one year. If Coach Derrick had left or is leaving this year, Sycamore would be glad to have him. Maybe then we could beat Harpeth.

I was at the region championship game last year, there was not a region MVP named. If there was it should have gone to Mandy. From past experience the MVP usually comes out of the championship game, and from what I've seen district 11 aa will not have anyone in the championship game.

Staying focused on future goals is code for where can we recruit the next batch of players.

Just wondering if it was just a medical issue why did she quit the team. We have had several players injured here, some seriously, but they were still at practice and traveled to the games. Do her parents still come to the varsity games home and away?

Mendenhall, Richardson, and Lawrence are the seniors for Harpeth. Flippo is just a junior. I heard the good player was going to a private school next year. Besides, Sycamore has 5 good players coming from the middle school, where they are a lock for the conference championship.

We play Waverly Friday, have they improved that much or was it just an off night?

The coach must have some reason for making this statement, but in my opinion no matter what the reason he is still wrong for these comments. Advice: Ask for a meeting with the coach and the AD, if nothing improves bide your time or go to another school.

If you will see my post under the harpeth/sycamore heading, I think it pretty much says it all. I have posted which more than I can say about some of the Harpeth fans after the Cheatham loss. It now comes to a long season where a loss to one of the noncounty teams could be very grave. The winner of the district regular season has a huge advantage in avoiding the other two teams until the district finals.

I bow once again to Harpeth, I am kinda getting tired of it. Flippo played fantastic, Harpeth has another player they can truely rely on. She played much more consistent than Richardson. I felt Sycamore tried to play with Harpeth instead of playing their own game. Coach Derrick needs to go back and review for the next match-up. Congratulations to Harpeth it is going to be an interesting season.

I know someone must have some ideas. Are the Harpeth fans still in a stupor from last night?

They probably do miss Ensminger, but I believe she played point last year. I believe Mitchell was the post, and she wasn't very big (5-9, 5-10).

It does sound like some problems have arisen in K-town.

Sycamore wins by 15, because they play the JV during the majority of the 4th quarter. Sycamore boys and girls won last night. While Mendenhall is a great player, I would always take the team over an individual. This should be evident in last night's game, Mendenhall had a great game, but no one else did.

Yes, sportsfans the game we've all been waiting for Harpeth High School vs. Sycamore High School. What do you think will happen in this game? Harpeth is no longer invincible with the loss to Cheatham Co. Will Sycamore take a commanding lead in the district or will it be a three way tie for first. Could one of the Cheatham County teams faulter to a noncounty team, and slide to third or possibly even fourth? Gosh, so many possibilities after the impossible has happened. OK, sorry got a little out of hand. What's gonna happen Friday? I'll make my prediction later after my head has cleared.

It was very hard pulling for Cheatham in this game, but I'm glad they beat Harpeth.

Harpeth only needs one more loss to fulfill my prediction and they are going to get it this Friday. Did he wear the national championship ring tonight? If so maybe he should wear the other one Friday against us. I'll be looking for it.
