  1. I am from Ooltewah (Chattanooga) and weather is not bad here. What is going on there that you guys are cancelling all your games?
  2. I have seen both too. Both are the real deal. Pickel is more of a scoring threat than Butler and probably a stronger rebounder. Butler is more of a true point guard and pickel a scoring machine. Showtime you said Pickel was in the top 5 juniors in the state. Is Butler in the top ten of that list? And I would love to see the list of the top 80 juniors in the country. Pickel is on that list? Who else from Tennessee is on the list? I would love to see both lists. Can you list them on here for us?
  3. When she's hot Lindsey Jackson from Bradley can outshoot anybody. She can pull up from anywhere on the court and shoot. I have watched her hit 7 threes in a half before. If Pickel and Jackson are hot on the same night then watch out other teams.
  4. Walker Valley has a team that is very good. Don't know how they will hit against good pitching. They haven't seen alot of it this season but I expect them to pull through. The field is beautiful and good food. But you do need to bring chairs because there is no where to sit there and the parking is bad. No parking at all. The field is small so look for several long balls to be hit. Fence is pretty short distance. I say even with good pitching Walker Valley on top 8-6 in a good game.
  5. Is Bradley automatically in the tournament or do they have to play a game to be in it. I heard they were in last place?
  6. It was a 3-1 game at WVHS. I would say that there is reason to say there was "hope" in that game. WV would not have such an impressive record if they played in 5AAA instead of 5 AA. Remember, Bradley is the last place team in that district and they only beat them by 2 runs. According to the papers Bradley has had there way in easy wins over all 5AA teams except WV.
  7. I believe that Bradley County will have three or four spots coming from here. Pickel from Bradley, Carver or Shamblin from Cleveland and probably two from WVHS. It will be Brandon Turner and either Dye, Stafford or Sorah. I am talking about the first team. There may be one or two others on the second team: Perhaps Mcintyre, Barber, Kugler, etc. McMinn will probably have one on either firs tor second team.
  8. I doubt either team will bring there JV to play but I will have to say that by playing teams like Tellico, WVHS has the upper hand in the pitching. You can't play teams like McMinn and then Rhea next week and use your good pitchers in a game like this one. WVHS could pitch there 6th man and beat a team like Tellico then to only have to play McMinn Central next week. They really don't need to save pitching for any. I see Walker Valley coming out with either there number one or two in Dye or Stephens on the mound. If Bradley only played in a weaker district they could pitch Bristol or Pickle and I would see the Bears winning if that happened. Walker Valley hitting isn't used to seeing the pitching that the Bears have to see. Walker Valley is good though. If it was the best of both teams against each other I would have to go with Bradley in a very close one but since it will be Walker Valleys best against Bradleys 3 or 4 then I take Walkr Valley by 2 or 3.
  9. Superb coaching job by Jack and staff. They really had the Lady Raiders baffled on offense. One thing bothers me about the Bearettes though and that is the lack of boxing out and rebounds. You will need to box out, shoot well, and cut back on the turnovers to advance past substate. Good luck to Bearettes and Lady Jets. BYW: Maybe this will put a stop to the rumors floating around about the coaching! Way to defy the odds coach and be in the substate!
  10. Is this a done deal or it a coverup like what I keep hearing? Is he really going to make a move? What about his family? Are they moving or is he going to make the drive up there? I also heard from more than one source that he and his followers wree making a push for him to be at Bradley in either Smith or Harlowe's spot. Saw where Arts and Sciences didn't make it past the semi's last night.
  11. Put the ball in Kellen Pickel or Justin Hare's hands against anybody at anytime with the game on the line and they will come through. But if the game is on the line chances are that they will not get the chance to come through because the other teams know that too. These guys are CLUTCH!
  12. Hare and Pickel from Bradley Merriman from Chatt Central Cooper and Hyatt from Rhea Smith from McMinn Cook from CCS Pugh from Bradley Newsome from Ooltewah Howarter from WVHS These are my top ten in the order that I know them I know Tyner and Howard have two good players.
  13. Heard he was out for the season! True or false?
  14. Justin Hare is probably well 0ver 1500 and his teammate Pickel close behind.
  15. You have those numbers when you average shooting 30 or more times a game. He is a great shooter but lots of players could score that much if they shot as many times as he does. By the way 2000 points is great but that is only 500 per season which is averaging less than 20 per season. If he was on a team that had 5 players averaging in double figures he would not be scoring as much.
  16. Bradley looked smooth tonight except for a few minutes here and there. Kent took some timeouts, yelled a little and they were calmed down. OR and BC should be a dandy of a game. BC missed Pickel at the ballhandler an especially his defense.Hare shot extemely well tonight but seemed to have some trouble with the pressure put on him. There was nobody to help him get the ball up court. Still, Bears are deep and well-coached. With Pickel they beat OR by 25 without him by 10. Hammonds did a great job as usual. I am contiually more and more impressed with him. Brown played a good solid game. Did he have to have stitches? BCHS 75 OR65. Hare will have 20 or more points.
  17. Whatever happened does not give a coach an excuse not to shake hands with the other coach.
  18. Prayers are with you and the family. Sports get put into perspective when something like this happens!
  19. I remember reading Kellen's personal Christian testimony handed out at a recent Bradley game. What a remarkable young man. No doubt God will use this accident to allow KP to be a witness to others. KP has a bright future in college ball whether it is at a school like Lee or a school like MTSU. He will be a tremendous Christian asset as well as a tremendous athletic asset wherever he chooses to go.
  20. That looks good but the way Little has come on this year I would think that he should be in the top 10 somewhere.
  21. Get well soon Kellen. I love watching #4 as he glides up and down the court. You are not only the best shooter around but you make the most awesome passes of anyone I have ever seen. You seem to be one super kid. I know God has a plan for you and there are many people praying for you. You are probably the best role model I know for my own kids. Hang in there and work real hard to get back on that court. I know the Bear fans want you back as soon as possible. I have no doubts that Yarrish will do a great job in your place but you are the spunk of that team. May God be with you during these next few weeks. And while I am at it let me thank you for the last three years that I have got the honor and pleasure of watching you. You always give 100 percent whether you are up by 10 or down by 10. GO BEARS!
  22. This may happen on your JV team but I have seen Coach Smith for many years and I think you can be assured that he will not put up with tantrums or talking back. Discipline is one reason why Bradley Bears have built a dynasty. With Suiter, Hammons, and the freshman all coming back I think he has a pretty good nucleus of talent coming back. I think all those new generation players can be built around with the others and build another good team. In fact, bank on it.
  23. When are the finalists for Mr Basketball announced? I watched Bradley tonite. Man, if Hare and Pickel aren't both finalists then is will be a shame. Saw what may be one of the nicest passes ever to Hare from Pick tonight. Who actually does the voting for this?
  24. Hare is going for a visit to Stanford sometime real soon and Pickel is going for a visit to West Point. I think UTC will end up offering to Pugh and probably will offer to Pickel too if they are not crazy. I think Pickel will probably end up at MTSU though from what I have heard. Who knows. A good coach should go for all three or at least two of them. They are such great players and even better youngsters. Even a stranger can tell that by watching them on the court. It is a shame that Vandy, Tennesse, or somewhere a little closer isn't interested in Hare or Pickel. Where is Brown going. I like him. Surely he can go to a NAIA school. It will be an interesting next month seeing where these guys will go.
