  1. I started believing when they beat OR last year! Bradley ad already beat them handily twice this year... not counting a 60 point beat down this summer. Sydney Mains is gonna be special!
  2. Congrats To new Head Coach Brent Hughes!
  3. Talk about improving... Bradley had beaten then handily in the past two meeting this year... not counting a 60 point summer loss..
  4. I can’t imagine anyone blasting you for pointing the +membership out. I waste much more money on frivolous stuff. Thanks again!
  5. Thanks for sharing and pointing this out Willie! I’m now a plus member and honestly had never paid attention. Pretty cheap price for fellowship and trash talking platforms. LOL I’ve had a 5 Star Preps membership since Day 1. Anything to support high school sports since the Knoxville newspaper coverage is abysmal at best.
  6. Great effort today by the Lady Irish. Bradley had beat them pretty badly in two early meetings this year (not to mention by 60 this summer). If Sydney gets hot watch out. She hit 6 3s in the first half and added 2 more to finish the game with 30. She’s had several 7 3point games already this year. Coach Mains is doing an unbelievable job with this program. They’re playing a tough schedule building for the future.
  7. I know Coach Ayers ran the weight room at Catholic. Lots of experience to draw on from S&C coaches at UT and several NFL stops. He took several Catholic players to Florida to train over spring break with his trainer down there. What a great experience for those players. You got a great one Oak Ridge!
  8. Certainly not happy to share that news but happy for Coach Ayers.
  9. He has added former NFL and VFL Robert Ayers from Catholic. Great addition to any staff!
  10. Was the technical warranted? The head coach is normally easy on the officials.
  11. Never hurts to throw the idea out there Willie! The Nuns are much nicer in Knoxville. LOL Doing well so far this year. Really enjoying watching the Irish. BJ Edwards is one of the best players I’ve seen in the Knoxville area in about the last 50 years. Elston Turner would be hard to top with a 15 year NBA career. Wish we could have played OR again this year. I told Aaron and Mike Mullens I’d get them a map to Cedar Bluff.
  12. That’s a great idea Willie. We’ll need those guys at Catholic in a few years. LOL
  13. I know both well having been around Kevin during his tenure at Catholic and have known/coached Brent since he was in middle school (and his parents for 45 years). Kevin is obviously more mature and has an excellent resume with a few gold balls to show for it. Brent has been involved with both Central and Halls programs.
  14. Yup!!!! Good point. But they are only as good as the information they are given or follow-up on.
  15. No clue.... But somebody keep insisting on throwing the ball all over the field and stopping the clock with incompletions. Stopping the clock and the FG attempt were the ONLY way Catholic had an opportunity to steal that win.
  16. I don’t know who was running the offense in the loss to Catholic but you can hang that L on offensive play calling in the second half. Powell should have continued to run the ball since the Irish couldn’t stop them. Going for home run balls and a stupid FG attempt were the only way Catholic had any chance to win.
  17. My son grew up playing with them from about 7 years old. I coached Aaron in basketball and my son played every other sport against both. I’ve know Aaron’s dad since our UT days and Brent’s dad since we were in high school. Still get sad thinking about the “What If” with Aaron.
  18. Aaron was actually zoned for Bearden which is fitting for this thread. He went to Webb until through middle school. Brent was a Halls kid. Aaron played youth football with CBFO. Ironically Coach Fulmer suggest to David Douglas that he leave Webb because running the Wing T wasn’t going to get him ready for the next level.
  19. That kid’s mom and dad are both on Catholic’s coaching staff. Mom is an asst. VB coach and her daughter plays VB. Dad is the new softball coach. I’d be a little surprised at that move.
  20. Wish they would play Catholic! I think it has been beneficial for both teams the last few years.
  21. Congrats to Knoxville Catholic PG BJ Edwards on signing with the Vols yesterday. Excited to see him in the Orange and White next year. Needs to finish out his Irish career with another ring!
