  1. Big win for Ensworth. Congrats Tigers. I know we wish the first one would have counted like this one did. Any details?
  2. I was unable to go to the game tonight. Does anyone have a score?
  3. I can't even imagine why you'd waste time reading the thread if you weren't there. Even those of us who were there are bored with it (we're just killing time until the next meet . . .). You clearly need a hobby.
  4. I think if you will go back and read my original 2 posts on page 1 you will find that I was very complimentary of Father Ryan's wrestlers, their performance and most of their fans. I acknowledged that every school including ours has fans we wish would act better. I think "classless" started with your post and the insults ("bring track shoes", "stop crying" . . . blah blah blah).
  5. Again facenthecrowd you prove the point of my original post (which started this mess and which at this point I regret . . .). Great win by Ryan, tainted in my opinion by a few classless fans (and one classless poster). Should be proud.
  6. We'vee agreed that BA's Heavy (not 215) was backing most of the match. Not sure what other weight classes you think were "dominated" by the stall. What I saw were BA wrestlers trying to "muscle" Ryan wrestlers (many aborted head throws . . .) and technically better Ryan wrestlers taking care of business. Another question -- "It is better for the team at State if Marchettis goes to 140" and that's smart coaching. When BA forfiets 215 so that Tuani keeps his seed at state (I am assuming that is the reasoning for the forfiet), BA is ducking? Seems like that would what is best for the BA team at State and therefore good coaching as well . . .
  7. No one has made any comments about Coach Simpson -- clearly he has done a great job. No one had made any comments on his voicing his disapproval with the refs -- it's part of his job. "BA people" would love to have a wrestling program as successful as Coach Simpson's and we believe that over time, Coach Cash will build a program that can at least compete. My hope however, is that "BA People" do not copy the few Ryan fans who in my opinion acted poorly during the match. We have our few and it is a disservice to the good work that Coach Cash is doing when they act up, just as it was a disservice to Coach Simpson and his squad when the Ryan fans acted up. No bickering here about the refs or coaches -- just an observasion on a few fans.
  8. Facenthecrowd, you actually do a pretty nice job justifying my post . . . "stop the crying" "when did the refs start swallowing their whistles" "bring your track shoes" "BA had one gear . . ." Class No where has anyone made excuses or called Ryan's performance anything but dominating. Ryan has a wrestling program that BA aspires to and we knew going in that it was going to be rough. Youth/injuries were not excuses -- we were going to get beat anyway. I just didn't expect the whining/crying from a few of the fans. Agreed that our heavy spent the match backing up (it didn't work well for him by the way . . .). By your reactions in the stands, you'd have thought he was slapping your mother. If the match would have been close or in doubt I'd have understood the reactions a little better but to your point, the match was never in doubt. No body from BA cried when your 103 spent the third riding the mat with his lead (his strategy worked -- more power to him). I agree that at least one of the BA fans made unneccessary comments (I'd argue that he was provoked, but it was embarrasing either way -- that is why I amended my original post). I was glad he moved to the other side of the gym. I hope that when we were up on you guys in football, our parents weren't crying like you guys were. Ryan is in my opinion the top of the class in middle TN wrestling (state? probably, but we'll see) -- it would be nice if you acted like it.
  9. I can add a little more to this . . . 103 ryan -- minor 112 ryan -- minor 119 ryan -- minor 125 ba -- pin 130 ryan --minor 135 ryan --major 140 ryan -- tech 145 ryan -- major 152 ba -- pin 160 ryan --minor 171ryan -- pin 189 ryan -- major 215 ryan -- fft 285 ryan -- pin Final Ryan 51 BA 12 Not sure this is 100% (I think I've missed a point for Ryan somewhere . . . ), but it's close
  10. OK, in retrospect most of the Ryan parents were great -- it was just a few that acted like fools. I'm sure all schools have them . . .
  11. Clearly the Ryan wrestlers were technically better. I think coach Cash has done a good job at BA and he is developing some wrestlers but it will continue to take some time. As has been mentioned, this is a very young team. I thought wrestlers on both sides conducted themselves well on the mats -- if Ryan's wrestlers were getting frustrated at BA's tactics, they didn't show it in their conduct. I was disapointed (not particularly surprized) in the Ryan fans though. Your team is dominating a younger, less talented team and there was more whining/bashing of the ref than I've heard at a match this year. One would hope that the parents would learn to conduct themselves with the same class as their wrestlers. Overall an impressive showing by Ryan and a good learning experience for BA
  12. Cash and Kontz did their part and will meet in the finals. Both look good. To answer Vegas1962's question about who will last 2 rounds with Herman . . . uh, the kid from Franklin (pinned Herman in the Semi's). He also beat the Hvy from CBHS and will be in the finals (against Kenwood?). A lot of good wrestling going on today!
  13. Actually Indy won, Phoenix NY came in second and BA came in third . . . Well run tournament. It was nice to have the NY folks in town -- good wrestlers and nice people.
  14. You are clueless. He is a true Tennesseean -- born and raised here. Moved to GA for a few years as he was growing up. Moved back home with his mom a couple of years ago. Guess you are a better judge of talent than AL/TN/CL. Should send them your number so they can call for scouting reports . . .
  15. I guess when you loose the talent that BA has lost over the past 2 years they will be "down", but I think they have only lost 1 game so far this year (to a KY school) and they've beat MKL and Riverdale. I haven't seen them play yet this year so I'm looking forward to tonight -- BGA always has a great crowd and their students really get into it. Don't count BA out - I still think they've got a shot to go a long way . . .
  16. Man paceisthetrick, you REALLY need to lay off of the caffeine before you post. Take deep breaths and, here's a unique idea -- really read the post you are responding to it. Do you really think a true BA poster would say "Looks like MBA found BA's recruiting list"? This may come as a bit of a surprize to you, but there are actually schools and their supporters who dislike MBA more than BA does. In fact, I'd say that, while we hate loosing to MBA more than anyone, we probably respect MBA more than any other school does as well. Lighten up Francis!
  17. Wow, I guess this is how a thread breaks down after going to it's 32 page . . . I don't even think you guys know what you are arguing any more. Guess it is time to go to the Baskeball Thread . . .
  18. I don't see how C. Jordan disappeared during this game. He had 5.6 yards a carry and was the only offense that BA had. It's a little tough to pull the entire load on your own. Our QB hit 1 pass untlil the last meaninless drive. What other games did he disappear in??
  19. Congratulations to MBA on a well earned win. MBA won the battle of field position and their O line clearly won vs BA's D line. I don't know what the average starting posessions were, but I'd bet BA's was around the 15 and MBA's was around the 45 or so. MBA's kicking game was all it was billed to be and the chief reason for the difference in field position. I also don't think I've ever seen a game where only 4 or 5 passes were completed (w/ 2 of them coming on BA's last desperation drive with 1:00 left in the game). The officiating was a joke. Amazingly, with the game still in the balance (6-0 in the third) I heard BA fans yelling for the refs to "let them play!" on a call made against MBA . . . it was that bad. I still am not 100% sure what encroachment on the offence is and I certainly have never seen it called that many times. If BA's starting field position wasn't bad enough, they started each of their first 3 drives with 1st and 15's. Ultimately, I don't think it would have changed the outcome, but it certainly effected both teams and greatly took away from the game. Congrats again to MBA -- the better team won tonight.
  20. If that's how you ment it then my bad. Chalk it up to an overly sensitive private supporter . . .
  21. Hey, back off KWoodroof -- those past 11 years have been "rebuilding" years . . . /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  22. . . . uh, it's called a "rhetorical question" . . . As tarheel1 alluded to, anyone who knows CJ or his story wouldn't be so stupid as to make that type of comment. It's out of place coming from someone who would appear, by his blind support of MBA, to be a private school supporter. It's even more strange from a poster who was worried about others posting "crap" on the board . . .
  23. . . . and by "recruit" we assume you mean of Alabama/Clemson etc.?
  24. . . . you know, I went back and looked at pages 5 - 13 and I can't imagine what your issue with this guy is. He gave an analysis of the game, made a couple comments on some of the BA players and picked BA to win. Take a deep breath. Get some therapy . . . You are why beating MBA will be fun.
  25. . . . then we all assume that the flag was thrown. Even the "refs that didn't call anything MBA's was" would have thrown the flag on a hit 4 seconds after the whistle. I agree with the commenst around intensity but I'd certainly disagree with your contention that Rutledge is a dirty player. He plays full out and plays until the whistle blows, but in the games I saw (and I saw most although I didn't see the MBA game . . .) I don't think he was flagged for an unsportsman like all year. Don't mistake intensity for dirty.
