  1. ???Streaks usually all end at some point and it would be a nice thing to end this streak.??? Comment by Kentucky coach Rich Brooks. Different teams same logic. ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE
  2. I don't know about classless. I would call it a form of respect and fear. As the saying goes "you only hate what you fear." Its like the Dallas Cowboys, The lakers and celtics, Duke, North Carolina, and Kentucky basketball. Florida football. You are either a die hard fan of those teams or you hate them. Its what winning brings. When a team/franchise is as successful as Maryville has been you expect to be hated. But Maryville, like all of these great teams thrives on the trash talking. J.J Redick was the subject of many hateful things when he played at Duke, but it only made him play better. ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE
  3. And The Giants weren't much different than the Patriots first 18 games, in fact they were one of those 18 games. Miami had no chance to lose to Maurice Clarett and Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl. Miami was never going to lose to Va Tech and lose the longest winning streak in the history of college football. George Mason had no shot to make it to the Final Four. The American college kids had no chance to beat the mighty Russians in 1980. The USC Trojans were being called the best team in college football history in 2005, Texas had no chance, Vince Young didn't listen to all the "experts". Golden State had no chance to beat the Dallas Mavericks in a seven game series a couple years ago. THE POINT OF ALL THIS IS VERY SIMPLE....."ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!!!!!!" If Greeneville listens to all the "experts" they have "no chance to beat the Mighty Marryville Rebels" BUT if they just block out the world and everyone wearing a Green jersey believes in themselves and the coaching staff and come together "ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE"
  4. Just a feeling. I just believe that Coach McCurry will have Greeneville ready and will come up with a scheme to put points on the board. Trevon Hall is one of the best athletes in East Tennessee and very rarely does one or even two tacklers bring him down. You say you get beat on the deep ball several times. So, to me that says that a top notch receiver has a chance to make a couple of plays downfield. I could be completely wrong, but I just believe that this will be a better game than what most people expect, but by no means am I "predicting" anything such as a Greeneville win. That is just insane to predict a team like Greeneville will beat a team as talented and well coached as Marryville.
  5. How many times have you seen Trevon Hall and Ryan Fillers play? Both can play D-1 football, and yes I know Maryville has more of those type of players, but Greeneville WILL score over 17 points. Also about "the streak" in the words of coach McCurry "I could really care less about Marryville winning 73 games in a row. We don't have to beat them 73 times, we only HAVE TO BEAT THEM ON ONE NIGHT" in the words of Kevin Garnett after the Celtics won the NBA championship last year "ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!"
  6. Greeneville is a for sure conf. champ this year with Braylon Loyd at point......Jordan Short on the wing along with bryan Everhart who can shoot the lights out of it.......and troy hopson and trey anderson down low.........which is untill Wes Quarells gets out of football along with the fastest kid at greeneville high Landon Morrison who can also fill it up!!! Game OVER nobody touches them in the conference
  7. Well all i'm going to say is that Greenevilles coaching staff knows exactly why the south running back had a big game.......They tackled poorly!!! But beware that won't happen this time greeneville is gonna come out ready to play with Barner running 100 % now and Trevon Hall playing as well as we've seen him and tyler stewart and the D stopping the run the only thing Greeneville needs to be worried about is the South Arial attack!!! Plain and simple GO Devils!!!
  8. Wont some of the AA schools that come to GHS to play think that that has to be the most awesome high school facility that they have been in? It is very nice!
  9. But, Coach Gat, I talked to you in person during the games that night, right before the Bartlett game, (I had on the Kentucky stuff). But as a coach you have to know that you want you're team to make the other team prove that they are capable of doing something they haven't yet proved they can do. Congratulations on a great run and I have much greater respect for you after talking to you and watching you coach this weekend. And hindsight is realizing something after the game. On this though, I told the guy I was sitting next to at the end of the first quarter that I would have started the second quarter in a zone. I truly believe that gave Greeneville the best chance of winning the ball game. As far as Nicole trying to do too much, she had to. Devin was scared to shoot, Shipley and Kelley were as well. If nobody else wants to take the shots then I want my best player taking the shots with confidence. And About Blair what did giving him year after year get us???? NOTHING. And I feel thats where this tenure is heading. Blair's last year, Beth Bryant, Christie Fisher, Maegan Lyons, Nakeisha Manuel, Alex White, the best team in Greeneville history Blair found a way to lose with them. Winning championships comes down to coaching and gameplanning because when you get to the State Tournament or Final Four in College everybody can play just as good as your girl/guy. so in the end it comes down to which coach has a better gameplan and which team executes it better. Correct CoachGat????
  10. I want to appologize to all of you from 14AAA good job on getting to the state tourney and I hope you don't prove me wrong though LOL!!!! Safe Travel from West Tennessee, should be some great basketball tomorrow.
  11. But, you do coach in Memphis correct??? And thats not my personal opinion thats just how much of the state feels about Memphis, thus the reason for East TN calling it Memphis, Arkansas. And you totally avoided my point coach.
  12. All im saying is do you not have more important things to do other than be on here constantly??? See my point is do you see Burkey, Oak Ridge's coach, Wilson Central's coach, Crumbley, Smyrna's coach, Cleveland's coach, or many other coaches on here??? Shouldn't you be watching film or doing something more productive than getting on here. Its one thing for fans to be on here but when a Coach is on here as much as you are that is a little annoying. Just tell me how you can possibly be as prepared for the task at hand when you are too busy posting on here. And you're from Memphis, you guys are cocky without even realizing it because its part of your culture.
  13. First off please learn how to spell Greeneville, secondly when you have posted like ten to fifteen times on two different threads that is wasting a lot of time that could be spent much more wisely than what he is using it for. Do you not agree with that??? That's the only point im trying to make.
  14. No to me that is giving your team credit since they had two guys who played varsity basketball this year, I played varsity last year and we had the two leading women's basketball scorers in Greeneville history. I think it does them good to practice against people better than them rather than to practice against five freshmen. And we'll see who's sucking on what about three thirty on Thursday when the mighty west is once again eliminated.
  15. I'm not saying he has said anything bad, but if it were my coach, or any coach for that matter it is foolish to be on here posting anything when you have much more important things you could be taking care of. As a future coach I already know that there are things of much greater importance to be taking care of when getting ready to play in the state tournament. There is no reason to be on here defending your team, you should be worried about them doing it with their play not by their coach running their mouth.
