I believe the Big Red will be ready to play. The defense is going to have to work extra hard and try to score some points to be able to keep up with Tate. But yes, MBA wins.
I talked with a BA friend after they had played Manual and he said that Manual was a very weak team. Large number of players but very small and just not very good. He said that it was a shame that they did play in the game after them against Louisville Male. He said that they were huge and looked like they would have been a good match for BA. I believe BA won 40 something to 0? I don't remember who he said played FB but I want to believe that it was Jordan.
Well, I guess that I should feel lucky. My wife has invited some friends over for a cookout. And....she told them that for entertainment we would be listening to the MBA/Trinity game. Of course, they are all "Big Red" fans.
We must remember that Ky is a basketball state and not a football state and not worry about what they say. We won Friday and will win again this coming Friday. Go Big Red!
I talked with a BA players dad and he said that BA has yet to play a good team in their scrimmages and one game. He said that their first real test might be Baylor, since they have a new coach, if not them then the team from Mississippi.
I was talking to a BA dad yesterday. He said that if Flatt had started last year with Garrett and Kottas at WR and Bledsoe at QB they would have had a much better season. He said that Bledsoe was just getting started when their season ended. I believe that he said that he only had 5 starts.
Earlier in the week the Ravenwood coach was interviewed. He said that they would not even start practice until the 31st. This was in the local paper. Maybe your source saw the lacrosse team.
Is Independance 30 miles from MBA? I believe it has to be to be able to play right away. Also, doesn't Independance have a QB that has started for two years.
I have heard that MBA's #2 QB wasn't happy (or his dad) with Rutledge sticking with Howe at QB. Rutledge is not going to make a change at QB when Howe already has the chemistry with the team and does a decent job. If the kid wants to transfer let him. His new team will realize that he is only in it for himself.
If they do this with football then they need to do it with all sports.
How many basketball coaches expect their players in the gym during the summer? How many kids also play AAU?
You also have high school baseball teams that play together during the summer and some even have fall ball leagues.
Football is not the only sport where coaches expect the players to train year round. The days of the three sport athelete is almost extinct. Kids today have to make choices and that is sad. I put alot of the blame on the parents. They are so afraid that someone will have a leg up on their child that they demand year round programs.
Think about the kids that start playing travel baseball at such a young age. They are burned out by the time they even reach high school.
When does MBA and the rest of DII have spring practice or have they already had it? If so, how do the boys look? Also, I heard that David Howe's back up was going to transfer. Any news on that one?
